I got sober 42 years ago. It was one of the best decisions in my life. Life isn’t that easy, but facing it sober is the real thing! I’m glad you’re encouraging others. It’s worth it.
Sobriety has become a superpower for me. I’m new to this life, but I love it and I now love myself as a result of it.
Thank you for watching and sharing a bit of your story 😁

For anyone curious about this, I worked for these dunes for 5 years. It is only $10 a night but you can only stay 30 days out of the year, and only 2 weeks consecutively with a 48 hour leave inbetween. This will include Northbeach and Oceano Campground as all 3 campgrounds are linked. Their system tracks your License plate. It's not like the golden days unfortunately where you could quite literally live out there indefinitely if you were smart enough
Also you are correct in assuming you can camp out inside the dunes
@@zak8991 thanks for the extra info, that is definitely useful for anyone else who wants to come camp out!

Recommended by the algorithm. At first I thought it was another senseless guy flashing his life. But shit, your mindset really resonated with me, especially the wanting to experience and enjoy life, owning your time and energy! Thank you bro.
Thank you for checking it out! I’m just starting to finally figure this out, and I have a much deeper message to share.
I’m still figuring out how it all fits together,I want to help others find their true authentic selves, which society tries so hard to separate us from. Many of us turn to vices to escape, and if I can help people find the lives they’re supposed to live, I think I can make a positive impact on this world.

Im in Morro bay now, but, when I first moved here, I had the exact same setup and did the exact same thing. I had a campershell on my pickup, wired in some deepcycle batteries with solar for my electricity and just stayed in Oceano Dunes as much as possible. It was such a cool experience! Just to share: I worked for Sundbuggy Fun Rentals right there. I learned that the owner started there the same way! He lived out on the dunes and started with 1 buggy that he would rent. Now he has a massive fleet. Thanks for sharing this cool video!
Thanks for sharing that story! I’m glad to hear others have thought up the same short-term solution to do something cool with their lives!

Yep, California beaches belong to the people. Though there are some beaches that are set as no camping. Pismo may go no camping because so many young people leave so much trash on the beach. I can’t imagine leaving trash on a beach. I don’t know what those people are thinking. When you’re off roading, don’t fly over the dunes at 50+, there have been so many deaths from crushed sternums because they land on the next dune that is going up, and slam chest on into the front of their bike at full speed. Also fourwheelers roll over on people out here because they go around the side of a dune at a steep angle. I had to go to the hospital for a surgery once, and they were like “Oh look someone who doesn’t have a dune biking injury”.
@@kanders7391 I agree that leaving trash is absolutely terrible… I don’t think it’s only people of a certain age, sadly. More that some people were never raised to appreciate this beautiful planet and all of its wonders in the way I was with a biology teacher as my mother… I will be making a video in the future, explaining all of the great and risky parts of enjoying the dunes… injuries and damaged vehicles are real, and most times, they can be avoided… I know that alcohol is definitely a part of the formula when things go wrong many times. Only one more reason sobriety is a good thing.

MIke good stuff bro your on the right positive track working out staying healthy staying focused on whats most important to you and having the best life possible cheers to you bro.what you think about you bring about, you will have that land soon, keep visualizing it
🙏🙏 thank you! I’ve come to believe exactly what you are saying.
Thank you for taking the time to watch and leave good vibes!
Welcome to my stomping grounds. Growing up at that beach has been a delight - so many amazing memories in those dunes.
Such an amazing place, I’m grateful for the experience. 🙏
One day, everybody in CA will be living in a car
As unsustainable as things have become, we will everywhere, not just in CA… I’m about to buy land and build a home with my hands and cash, but it’s because I quit playing the game university set me up for.
I have on and off since I turned 50 yrs old
Not me 😂
@@BookOfMikeG Smart move life is a game of chess♟️while most think its checkers
@@Steven-vv4lj the struggle is real!
I recommend you write a book. Make it an audio. You are on to something. Some land on the beach. Possibly include surfing and yoga on the beach.
You are not old enough to remember How nice California used to be In the 60s and 70s. It is sad to see the decline of California.
I’ve heard some stories… I watched my home in Summit County, Colorado (Breckenridge/Keystone) get ruined literally over night… I’m glad to have had this temporary experience as I’ve sought my purpose and sobriety before I move on to the next adventure.
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Get non locals out of local government. Midwest frat people in gov destroyed our home
Being in a van allowed me to find a location and purpose that I love.
I provide care for seven horses on a 20 acre horse ranch.(In the hills above Santa Barbara)We provide equine therapy to veterans and children…. I couldn’t be happier!!!
Good for you. Thank you. God bless your goal to help people get sober. I hope my son will see this.
I’m glad you find my message compelling. Thank you for watching. I hope your son finds my channel and some inspiration from it ❤️
Good for you Mike, your living your best life. It is so easy to get sucked into the dark side of social media and politics. Free your mind and your ass will follow. 💯🙌
Thanks! It really is amazing how much a few perspective changes and decisions can impact our happiness or at least reduce/eliminate a lot of negativity.
Thank you for sharing the journey with me and leaving a comment!
I was born in Cali. I would never choose to exist there.
It’s definitely got its own challenges… not sure this is the right place for my land yet. Still loving the journey!
I celebrate when the whiners move out of state. They sure troll the "California Is Great" vids while living in their new "paradise" 😆
@@BookOfMikeGI bought dirt cheap land in Crestline. Walking distance to beautiful beach lakes, San Bernardino National forest, unincorporated, lax building codes. An hour from LA. I put a tiny cabin up there with no permits.
I also lived in my RV on beaches for a while. Another tip is most beaches let you park there free all day, and at night I just drove to the closest rest stop to sleep. 100% free and 100% legal in California.
Born & raised in Alta Sur Califas, love it! 7th generation Alta Californian here never leaving & always living the dream.
@@Art-w1l8x California is the best. I love that it doesn't tolerate deplorables and makes them feel unwelcome here.
Great video my friend. 💯💯👏🏼👏🏼 Thanks for sharing your time with us all. Cheers from 2 Canadians 🇨🇦 living in Mexico. 🇲🇽🥰✌🏼
Thanks for the visit 🙏 I’m interested in permanent residency in a place like Mexico or Belize. But first, I’m building an off-grid home in the Colorado mountains.
I look forward to sharing more of my adventures with you!
@@BookOfMikeG That's great bro, we'll be watching. Cheers from Mexico sir. ✌🏽
$10/night is way more than $200 a month! Plus theres usually a limit on the number of days you can legally stay.
Watch the video, it’s explained in the video. I don’t stay every single night
He said he got a year pass for $50
%@@RavenAngelfire it still I'd MORe than $200 no matter how you sliver ut. That's $150 for tge pass then unless he only spends 5 nights at #10/night there's your $200. It's 3rd grade math!! And , NO, it WAS NOT all explained by saying , I don't spend every night there. I just get tired of misleading clickbait. SOME of us can do really fast math in our heads, no calculators required.
I have a 4wd wife and kids and drink lots of beer. Not far from Pismo. I love your take on the beach lifestyle. Sub'd!
Thanks for joining the journey with me! You mentioned drinking a lot of beer. Is that because you would like to change that habit? I’m just realizing the way I can make my bit of impact on the world. Still figuring out how I can help others begin along this path, but I can at least share some of what worked for me if you are seeking a new direction.
Thanks for the positive comment. It means the world to me 🫡
what are you doing about excessive iron oxide?
Hasn’t affected me yet and I’ll be on to the next adventure in a couple months
Sorry, how is he exposed to iron oxide?
@@staciecook5821 saltwater environment is the worst place to put/keep a car.

@@gopro2027 Definitely seeing some rust and developing some squeaks... Not ideal, but its the price I've chosen to pay. New paint and lots of maintenance coming after I return to my hometown in a few months.
This is great, as long as you don’t mind sand in your crack and everywhere else. Spend 5 mins in the dunes and you’ll be pulling sand out of everything for months.
IMHO you goofed 🥴 posting this video! (Maybe delete it fast😁). You might get yourself tossed out and restricted. And a flock of others will think they can do the same thing too. Your limited availability JUST got WAY worse. I appreciate your life prospective though👍👍. Happy Camping 🏕️
It’s a state park, fully staffed with thousands of visitors a week… I keep all of my national forest sites and other discoveries a secret so they don’t get ruined like so many of my old spots in CO. Haven’t broken any rules. They have all records. Plenty of others have done this before me. They have literally reached out to me as a result of this vid and told me “good job, I did the same thing when I moved here”
I do appreciate the time you took to watch the vid and drop some positive vibes in the comments 😁 and I get what you’re saying, it’s just not quite as you assume.
good for you man, I'm glad there are people take the leap and pivot in life. I am there now and considering different options. Stay safe and continue and consider buying land for $5-10K in different states and forests. I am sure you would enjoy it.
🙏 I try to approach life like a puzzle - define my desired outcome, then figure out how to use the resources I have available to achieve that outcome… if you’re considering a pivot or alternate lifestyle, the outcome of reverse-engineering your desired outcome could be of value.
I’ve looked all over… if I get this land, it’s because I could host gatherings to help men get sober and fit… it’s a half-day from LA and San Francisco, providing access to millions… I’m still seeking and searching… I’ve got places I really like in CO, where I lived for nearly a decade. I’m just sick of the Winters. Really don’t want to go back to the Midwest or South… this puzzle is exciting and interesting.
I dig your vibe and message brother. May happiness always find you in this life. Peace

I just passed 11-months alcohol-free myself and I know I’ll never go back.
Thank you for your kind world 😁
I think there is so much positivity we can find in life, and I hope to inspire others in many ways.
I’m about to travel cross-country and I’ve found a piece of remote land in the mountains of Colorado, where I lived for 9-years that I plan to purchase.
Soon, I’ll be creating content about building a tiny home and living a fulfilling life without a mortgage or traditional job.
There are different ways than most of us know, but we are in a time where the same jobs and hours our parents and grandparents worked will not produce the same outcomes, so I’ve decided to pursue freedom as a puzzle to solve instead of trading the rest of my life as a university graduate following a path barely affording to own a mortgage and retire broke.
Thanks again for taking the time to watch my video and leave a comment. It means a lot to me 🙏

That’s a great quote, gonna write that down as a reminder: motivation is fleeting, discipline and consistency produce results…crushed the KB workout and back at it tmrw with discipline and consistency…was a pro hockey player and retired 10 years ago, was jacked beyond belief and let myself go for a decade and have an extra 60lbs to evaporate…I know it all starts with the mindset of “consistency and discipline”….Let’s go!!! I just posted a video that is very relevant to your point in the journey… I’m sure you understand it is not that you need to drop 60-lbs real quick to feel better, but rather, your lifestyle must evolve and that the physique will evolve consistently with it while you develop new habits and a new life that become a part of you forever.

I click on this because I was positive you were at the Pismo dunes. I go 4x4 there it is the beach in California you can drive on. Yes you can camp any were there as long as you are past the first set of restrooms. You can camp at any Walmart parking lot for at lest 3days at a time legally. I only live 10 to 15 miles from the front entrance from Pismo. You can also get a state camping pass and stay at any state property /land forest with the pass .💯👍👌✌️🫡
