The ending chorus actually broke my heart
I have tears in my eyes everytime I listen to it. And eventhough it breaks my heart too, I love that just 1 chorus brings me to tears.
I always tear up at the "Feeling helpless" because it sounds like Angel can't keep the note anymore and is about to break down crying.

It's interesting at the end lyrics, Angel said he's "raising Cain" as he describes moving into the hotel. Cain slew his brother Able, and is known for being a traitor. So when I hear that line...to me, it means Angel knows he's likely going to branded as a traitor by the majority of Hell for trying to reform.

bro personal tmi story but I had heard the beginning of this song the day it came out and thought I'd listen to the rest of it later. Well yesterday i found out that my mom relapsed. This song came up in a playlist later that day and I didn't think to change it, and when I heard the new ending I broke out in tears.

Honestly this last verse gives angel so much more character it's unreal - in the pilot he had hints of a deeper character, but these few minutes make him so much more of a three dimensional character. I can't wait for this series :)

For those who don't get it- at 4:22 to 4:57 he is talking about him with drugs (sorrow) and is addicted to them, that's how he died by an overdose, even though it hurts him he still likes the drugs and can't stop, he soon lost emotions which causes him to not really care about anything unless he really wants to, basically he is hoping at the hotel he can be better and trying to get to a better life..(the end was sad it had me crying)

I feel so many emotions because of Angel.. I’m going through therapy because of abuse and I feel his pain. I to did drugs and used sex to forget. Viv has done an incredible job making these characters real and dealing with difficult stories so well. Thank you!!

That ending hit me a lot harder than I was expecting...
After smoking for close to a decade, I finally managed to quit a couple months ago. Something I’d been meaning to do for years, but had always failed at. The only reasons I’ve made it stick this time around were 1.) I lost my job, and 2.) quarantine. So yeah, I “quit” because I had no money to buy more, and no reason to leave the house for a while anyways.
Those 2 months have been pretty good to me. My family tells me my skin and my teeth look a lot better since I quit, and I don’t punctuate every sentence with a poorly-disguised cough anymore. I’d even say I sleep better than I used to.
But I’m starting a new job soon. I’ll have money again. I’ll have to leave the house and be outside my family’s supervision again. And even though the physical withdrawal was over by the end of the first week, I still *want* a smoke so badly. And I’m starting to realize, this is probably how it’s gonna be for the rest of my life.
So, yeah. That bit about “looking awesome, feeling helpless” vibes with me a bit *too* well.

In the pilot when he looked sad and regretful towards Charlie, my eyebrows rose to the ceiling, because then and there I knew there was more to him as a character.
Then I started thinking back on his career, wondering why, if he's sooo confident in his body and his looks and mannerisms, he wanted to stay at the hotel in the first place. Then I read the prequel comic pages that's so far been posted and went..."ah.

Though to be fair you can hear the small cracks in his voice last verse, like how his persona was cracking in that moment, contrasting to how his voice was autotuned and “perfect” for Valentino and for his work.
