designTimber - The Boathouse

Entirely built from English-grown larch, this meticulously crafted boathouse was the Small Project winner in the 2023 Wood Awards.
Learning from traditional Japanese carpentry techniques, the structure uses no mechanical fixings. The frame was built offsite in a carpentry workshop as a kit of parts that were able to be self-assembled by the client, project team and friends.
