My parents met Marvelous in a cafe in Milan back in the 90s. My dad, who is a huge boxing fan, and always loved Hagler, approached him and asked very politely for an autograph, and Marvelous was very happy to oblige him.
My dad - who is British - took that opportunity to apologise for the fans at the Hagler v Minter fight. Hagler laughed his head off, patted my dad on the back and thanked him for the apology, but told him that it was cool because he'd visited the UK a few times since then and had always been made to feel very welcome. He then posed for a picture with my dad, and left.
My dad framed that picture and it's still up on the wall in their living room.
R.I.P. MMH. You were a class act and a true warrior.
    P.S. Brilliant video. Thank you.

    1. He civilized The Caveman
    2. He made the Scipion drink from a sippy cup.
    3. He hammered the Martillo into submission.
    4. He took out the The Hitman.
    5. He put the mustard to Mustafa.
    6. He tamed The Beast into a house cat.
    7. He dishes a plate of justice to Brit who said, "no Blackman is gonna take my title".
In his own house. They rioted .
    8. He served a great plate of spaghetti to Vito.
    9. He made a sissy marathon runner of an Olympian. Ray deserved a draw.
He basically destroyed everyone in his path and that to me makes him the greatest middle weight ever. Long Live the King Marvelous Marvin Hagler and may God keep him in his kingdom. God speed my brother. RIP.🥊🇲🇽🥊🇺🇲

I just watched that fight and it clearly looked like Leonard won. Hagler gave away the first 4 or 5 rounds and Leonard was the busier fighter. Hagler did land the harder punches when he could land but Leonard’s speed was a big factor. He made Hagler miss a lot especially in the earlier rounds. I thought the judges were pretty accurate although one judge scored 118-110 which I thought was a little much. 115-113 was about right in favor of Leonard.

I feel the same as Rummy, Hagler's passing has it me harder than the passing of any other fighter. Simply because Marvin Hagler was a fixture in boxing during my childhood during the 80's. Tommy Hearns, SRL, Duran, Holmes, Chavez, Tyson, Jones and a few others all hold a special place in my heart. It really saddens me, to the core with Marvin's passing and I have shared his fight with Hearns on FB and tried to get people to watch what an outstanding fighter Hagler was and what he means to the sport. Hagler never took the easy route and he would fight anyone and it's a testament of his commitment to the sport that he fought his entire career at 160lbs and was always in great shape. He had a chiseled body and was probably one of the physically strongest middleweights that ever lived. For 14 years he fought at the same weight and never had a issue making weight, that was during the time fighters had to weigh in on the day of fight. Hagler had to make concession in the fight with SRL, catchweight of 158, 12oz gloves, 12 round fight and a 20 by 20 ring and I still thought Hagler pulled out the win. RIP champ.

Marvelous Marvin Hagler was the reason I became interested in boxing also, I was so amazed how he could transition between orthodox and southpaw in the middle of a combination so effortlessly, and his gazelle punch was so quick with so much power. Later in life I learned about his training regiment, how he trained in an old hotel and to this day I yell “WAR, WAR!!” Just as he did while running or jogging. RIP TO THE MARVELOUS ONE!
