Matt we need one of these every Saturday please! LOL! Just tape the episode on Monday so you can have time with the family. I’m in stitches laughing so hard.
I think what really bothers me the most about Polo G's finances, is the saddening thought of how much he would be paying in taxes now he's making $2k per minute. I hope he has a good accountant now that he's reached success or considers moving to a red state if he isn't already in one.
I love these rap review videos. They are quite entertaining, even though i can clearly see Matt losing part of his soul every time he reads the lyrics. Ehh, he will live.
It's a genre of music representing those who politicians ignore, coming from places Ben Shapiro and Matt Walsh wouldn't even think of going to the trenches. Them saying that its soulless is an uneducated assumption because the heart of rap is the heart, the messages deep within the lyrics, prayers, and wishes that it will get better for the world, messages of equality and love, and display of what it's like in the deep, dark areas that most people wouldn't survive. In the words of 21 Savage, "Rap saved me" This song, particularly, RAPSTAR by Polo G, showcases emotion and the pain that came with money. Hiding emotions, and referencing using drugs to numb pain. Truthfully a heartfelt, meaningful song with many positive messages that many must hear. (Edit: they also could go for many more lyrical-based songs than RAPSTAR that are still hits like Mona Lisa or Jesus Walks)
4:55 Matt have you lost it or something, money doesn’t mean that everything is fine and dandy every second of your life, rich people can have hard times too

Honestly, the other videos were much funnier. This song did have a lot of depth to it. Obviously, there are many songs that are totally vulgar and pretty much nonsensical. However, there are many songs that touch on something real. I felt like this song was very much about how all the glamor and money can still leave you empty and you can get stabbed in the back. I like how many songs talk about mental health struggles. At the end of the day, rappers like Polo G and Juice wrld have audiences of millions that relate to their struggle. It's important that we as a society can talk about these issues that are plaguing so many of us and our loved ones. We need to have honest and compassionate conversations about these things and present real solutions that put people first.
@@c_z_u_r_e I’m sure you have criticized someone who’s richer than you, and who cares? Is it because they are rich we should bow down to them or something?

I’m guessing this is a place where all non rap fans come to hate on a kid half you’re age doing a lot better than you in life.
finally someone with a brain in the comments
At the end of the day Polo g is more successful than everybody in this comment section and matt combined so give him his props constructive criticism and came from rags to riches don't be hating
These are my favorite videos! Matt is the coolest!
Walsh reviewing hip hop and other stuff in pop culture has the potential to be something great, it’s hilarious
If you want to show how damaging rap is to society, why would you go after one of the most inspirational and talented artists in hip-hop. Polo Gs songs are about perseverance and turning your life around. Just because you don’t understand it doesn’t mean it isn’t art. I love DW but their war with hip-hop is ridiculous.
He's actually not trying to do anything. The point just is.
I like that he gives him props for the rhyme scheme haha that actually boosts Matt’s credibility in the rap genre.
^most braindead take of the year
You’re attempt to point out the contradiction of his braggadocio to complaints is so tone deaf.. the entire song is about how being a rap star is fame and riches but has down sides.
Next time just say “hey I’m white as fuck and I don’t understand art unless Jordan Peterson shits it on a plate”
5:20 POLO G opens with his D pawn and a misplaced queen, and the other guy immediately resigns. Polo G is truly a chess jedi.
🤣😂🤣
Love it when Matt does these segments
"yes they are bustin caps..in various asses, and so forth"😂😂😂
"Only bitch I give a conversation to is Siri" is actually pretty funny.
It’s just disrespectful

Lol I actually like this song so I feel validated for Matt acknowledging it’s rhyming/flow and the somewhat meaningful message
I think Matt Walsh paints this genre and potentially the people making it with a very wide brush.
"He's proud of his pants" lol
Could have stopped after "my homie polo g" 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Made my day already
I live for this show, thank you Matt!!!
Matt's commentaries are always gold. Pls never stop making these😂
I beg him to stop it’s cringey 😂

@@puppy14 what is your problem dude?
In the words of 21 Savage, "Rap saved me"
This song, particularly, RAPSTAR by Polo G, showcases emotion and the pain that came with money. Hiding emotions, and referencing using drugs to numb pain. Truthfully a heartfelt, meaningful song with many positive messages that many must hear.
(Edit: they also could go for many more lyrical-based songs than RAPSTAR that are still hits like Mona Lisa or Jesus Walks)
exactly

So very happy I have no idea who this guy is.
@ nobody cares about your opinion lmaooo
He’s actually pretty good. This is one of my least favorite songs from this guy and that’s because it originally wasn’t supposed to be a song (long story) so it’s kinda unfair to judge a artist off of one of his least impressive songs
I think you would like “I know” and “bad path”
"Yes, they're busting caps in various asses and so forth. But at the end of the day they just want to be loved" you're a true philanthropist Matt.
Could you be meaning philosopher?
This bout the whitest comment section if ever seen trying to look for Polo G reactions ending up finding this shit i’m still tryna figure out if this is satire or not.
I'm with you bro they don't even like rap
Idk I get vibes from some people in these comments that they call everyone thugs and then some that just like this dudes content which is fine
It’s not satire, he just isn’t familiar with rap at all so he criticizes it. You really think a 35+ year old white dude is gonna bump Polo G or understand it at all?
it's satire but it's pre funny since he takes everything so seriously while still joking
I’m not sure you guys are thinking this through. He simply read the lyrics and you think it’s satire?
Ok.
You clearly don’t understand the message of this song. He’s bragging about what he has but in the same breath is explaining how all that has its disadvantages. How being famous let’s him have everything he could want but us regular people don’t see the mental exhaustion being famous brings.
Music and social media are destroying the next generation
:)
Same haha
Matt also happens to have no knowledge in rap and is also a transphobe
millenial here, and its the same for me!
@@TurtleChad1 I see, you're not only active on Twitter...
I think when you're listening to rap and give your opinions on it, you don't necessarily need to be an expert when it comes to rap. And that whole transphobic thing, wouldn't it be better if you commented that under a video where Matt's talking about trans-issues

Matt,
I love when you do these rap/hip hop song reviews. Can you please breakdown either one of Young Dolph, or Key Glock’s songs ? Thank you in advance.
You’re the man.
Dolph and Key Glock. I like your style.
Yes yes yes! I live for these 😂 hearing Matt say “if I was a homie” made my day 😂
You need to do more songs. Love this !
The editor adds the baseline while Matt is reading the lyrics... and it works pretty well. Does this mean Matt has a future as a rap artist?
You were supposed to do “Pooh Shiesty” though. I don’t who that is, but sounds like it’ll be “interesting”.
He'll probably do that one next lol
4:16 Oh, I thought he said, "My parents are married."
My favorite and only way to listen to rap anymore is through the lens of Matt Walsh. He puts it into perspective.
I genuinely appreciate some rap, including this artist for the most part, but this video was a 10/10

The message isnt gangsters have feelings too. Polo G is not a gangster. The point of the song is to show the dichotomy between a rapstar and normal guy. the highs and lows. Which is why he goes from talking about hoes to talking to god about his anxiety
This seriously made me laugh out loud. Do more of these Matt.

Holy shit I've wanted a rap review so bad
He has seen a lot of his family and friends murdered on the streets of Chicago. Raised by a single mother in the worst neighborhood in America. He was really trying in this song and it what made me actually start listening to some of his music. I do not agree with a ton of what he’s saying but he is reaching out in his lyrics a lot of times.
