  • I should have watched the FPG installation video first.
Something I find extremely irritating is the price inflation of parts for this car.
A simple sensor should not cost $800, but that seems to be the trend. I have found I am able to find parts that either identical or functionally the same sold for different vehicles for less that 1/10th the price.
The ignitor chip sold for the 240sx is $190.
The exact same chip sold for a mercury villager or nissan quest is $20.

Your welcome. I hated it not having a working gas gauge.

So the pointed “house shape” faces up? Or down

If you are using a frontier sending unit on the oem hanger the house is right side up like this: ua-cam.com/video/YZMfTcx3FE8/v-deo.htmlsi=elR_xf7VCuU2e2YU&t=465 If you are using the FPG unit and bracket the house shape is upside down.

Just think when I replaced it back in 2006 I complained that the OEM sending unit was $175. I think the era of classic cars is coming to an end. Restoring a car from the 90's is now very expensive. I'd be willing to bet when cars from the 2000's are 30 years old they will be next to impossible to restore. Anybody can restore just about any domestic car made from 50's through the late 80's because you can just about build one from reproduction parts and NOS. Outside of that and it's a crap shoot.
