Did you watch to the end? Did you hear Freddy mention a secret project under a cover, in the main garage? It’s at 3:16 ish. Nice big blue cover. Go on, figure it out (please) I dare you!
The Laferrari looks to have been made in the same way they are made during a normal oem design / development phase > styrofoam core ( cut to the basic volumes of the car ) with a thinner outer layer of clay sculpted into shape, this helps keep the cost & weight down ( clay is far more expensive than foam ). I'm not too sure if you could hang it as it may well just crack / deform / fall apart as the clay doesn't really possess the mechanical / structural characteristics of engineering grade materials. Given the weight of it, I wouldn't advise taking the chance just in case it falls on anyone / damages anthing else. The model itself may not be painted at all > when I studied ( back in the day ), they used to use a synthetic material called di-noc that mimics the finish of paint ( was bathed in water to remove the backing & then applied & stretched over the form, a bit like the decals on old airfix models ). Depending upon the scale of the model, the wheels are often just made of wood / resin / hd foam that can be milled, the rims designs are often just applied as a photocopy or a print to give an idea of proportion / the final effect...they often look quite a mess if they have been used during the modelling of the body as they will be covered in bits of clay / paint etc. One thing you could do if you wanted to make a wall mounted version would be to construct a mould from the clay model & use it to make a fiberglass copy etc. ( we used to take moulds of the clay models we sculpted during the development phase so we finish them in fiberglass for paint & presentation ). Hope this helps 😁👍🏻
Yeah, I am still driving a 32 years old carburetor Fiat car, and whenever I do some sort of repair on it, I think it is so much complex technology. The complexity of this car here by the way is far far beyond any kind of imagination that I have. It seems more complex than my brain, and your work here must be considered as a textbook of restoring an actual supercar.
Folks complaining would really lose their minds if T released a half assed video like they are seemingly begging for. Respect. Mad respect for the artful content, and a team that never fails to deliver a polished final product. You guys wanna post a video that looks like I made it (complete fing amateur), fine, I will watch it. But really, unbelievable respect from me to all of you for what you do.
100% what I took away from that comment too 😂 Edit: wait, you mean the guys that made the carbon shell, or the guys that were modifying it? I meant the guys modifying it - the fact that he's pulling work from them and having someone else come in to complete it isn't a great look for them. The shell itself is for a slightly different frame, meant solely for racing 🤷♂️
Got to stretch it out to 50 minutes so his obsessed fans can write a bunch of comments saying he’s doing lots of work and doesn’t owe anyone blah blah blah
That was my takeaway too. Seems like it was with someone for WAY longer than expected (by them or Freddie!) The idea of veneering the carbon seems very complex and risky to me - I’d be going with a straight colour over the carbon if I were him.

strange that people still saying about - you don't finish projects. I guess people don't know that it is very easy to "finish" the project for the video but it doesn't mean that it is actually finished. hen you see on some channels that project is done and we proudly started the next one - 9 out of 10 these projects are not complete to the state that you would call it complete. Good luck man!
What are you talking about? Provide an example of that. His shop is literally littered with abandoned projects because he only works on them for as long as they provide enough views. Other channels actually finish their projects because they have to sell them. He makes all of his money through views so he can just abandon them when he finds something that would get more views. It’s very likely this will never be on the road again.
An old saying stands true here."The night is darkest before dawn". The sun will be shining on this project again soon sir. Best of good fortune, keep pushing forward on this monumental project. What incredible satisfaction you will experience when all is done and you're breaking records in it.
It really helps when you take the time to explain what is going on because some people want instant gratification and the "magic" of UA-cam, where you snap your fingers and *poof* it's done. Like an 8 month build in a 25-minute video. So, thank you for taking us through the headaches and the process. 🤙🏽

The manual swap on the sl55 can be done in a weekend with an nsg510 gearbox (about $800 stateside) with a tune from MSS. Would make for a quick easy video people would love!
FYI, the dozens of modules on the wiring harness can be quite sensitive to impedance deviations from spec., causing by changing the length of the original harness, or splicing in non-OEM components. Nick Murray (Porsche focused YT channel) learned this the hard way: he had a radar detector installed in a brand new 911, and ended up fighting electrical gremlins for months. Never managed to fix them all. He got rid of it, then bought another new 911, and the exact same thing happened.
Freddy Lexan, aka polycarbonate, is literally 500 times stronger than glass. That's why it's used on fighter jet canopies. And race cars. Also you can get it hard coated against UV degradation which also stops it from scratching. Polycarbonate technology has come a long way, and I'm talking about proper professional polycarbonate, not just a cheap Lexan sheet you'd get and cut yourself. Race grade poly is expensive af, probably cost you 3 grand or more to do the P1.

If we have Sreten for the M3, this will be pinnacle of UA-cam.
... or break You Tube... Sreten will need the rest of the floor space in the parts storage shop to drop off all the parts.🤣
as a person that works on cables and connectors for military spec ect... that cable harness is no joke they ain't cheap and the labor to put it together make sure its crimp well and not frayed ect... is vey time consuming, cant rush it or else you'll be trying to find issues over a simple mistake takes hours or days lol especially when its going on a helicopter or plane that flys you dont want any of the wires plugs and terminals lose
I find it difficult enough just working through Amphenol part numbers and their spec sheets, let alone making anything like that! 😂
@@samflint4749 HAHA dont get me started on that funny how you know and you get it.. while others that have zero clue think its just a cable harness easy to do and build... it takes time to make this cable harnesses it not a quick hack job and the shrink tubes alone some cost like 200$ for like 12pc 4ft long they need to withstand heat and not catch fire and seal in well not get moisture in
Did you watch to the end? Did you hear Freddy mention a secret project under a cover, in the main garage? It’s at 3:16 ish. Nice big blue cover. Go on, figure it out (please) I dare you!
I think were all surprised how much you could do with a hypercar tbh but not surprised by the time. Perfection and money takes time
any more generic cliches you can toss out there grod?

I was shocked to learn just how much body filler is used on a car this expensive from the factory.
Yup, it's hard to make perfect parts. It was made at the start of all this carbon body craze 😎 Im using CF on my V12 build
Lol, alot of words for "the guys who made this part promised way more then they could deliver".
100% what I took away from that comment too 😂
Edit: wait, you mean the guys that made the carbon shell, or the guys that were modifying it? I meant the guys modifying it - the fact that he's pulling work from them and having someone else come in to complete it isn't a great look for them.
The shell itself is for a slightly different frame, meant solely for racing 🤷♂️
Got to stretch it out to 50 minutes so his obsessed fans can write a bunch of comments saying he’s doing lots of work and doesn’t owe anyone blah blah blah
@@conor7154you don't need to watch, y'know.
That was my takeaway too. Seems like it was with someone for WAY longer than expected (by them or Freddie!)
The idea of veneering the carbon seems very complex and risky to me - I’d be going with a straight colour over the carbon if I were him.
Would be nice if you make a series on this channel where you'll complete all of your old projects, that we (OGs), are waiting for for ages...
It'll take as long as it needs. This type of build is a marathon, not a sprint. We'll be here for it.
P1 seats need a P1 EVO badge embroidered onto them - would look awesome, as well as being unique!

This sounds so good and I would like to be a party to this, I there any way I can speak with her?
strange that people still saying about - you don't finish projects. I guess people don't know that it is very easy to "finish" the project for the video but it doesn't mean that it is actually finished. hen you see on some channels that project is done and we proudly started the next one - 9 out of 10 these projects are not complete to the state that you would call it complete. Good luck man!
@@st.k.4528 exactly! Most of them can’t even install an exhaust system by themselves in a week 😂
@conor7154 did I say something about his projects? I said that it is easy to show on video that project finished, sell it as is and forget.
Greetings from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 🥳P1 lets go !!!!!!!
Freddy, you should make a mold of the LaFerrari, build a full carbon fiber body, and slap it on a chassis with all wheel drive. That would be an amazing build!
Somewhere there is a gaggle of Ferrari legal attorneys paying close attention to your comment 😅
it would be fun but "Ferrara" would send him a C&D immediately
@@RolandAshcroft could be... on the other hand, the company that build the dud replica seem to have been allowed to produce it. There is always a way and a loophole.
Are you 12? Wtf are you even talking about?
@carlosmarxuach5872 they were asked to by Ferrari if you were listening, but scale is usually a good easy around it in the kit car world, plus altering the shape slightly, like cobra kits.
I had to take a step outside of the International Space Station to watch this vid

Here for the hair update
I remember a garage update vid that was all unfinished and unboxed projects, clutter and sadness. I was truly worried about your mental health. This update was awesome! I can tell you are in a better place.
I appreciate your attention to detail, precision and perfection. Especially, when I win a car or you just give me one…so take your time to make my car perfect.
0:01 video begins here
Appreciate you bro
Very helpful, thank you!
Thanks
A true savior.
Ur actually wrong it starts 0:00
I like the custom coat of dust
It was a wise decision to rebuild your BMW in collaboration with Soren from M539 Restorations. Even though I detest BMWs, I can't help but miss him and his meticulous approach to repairs and restorations. I'm very excited about it!
Freedy absolutely love your channel dude 😊. I'm from the uk and I have just did a 335d swap into my 2010 118d msport. Not a mechanic by any means but managed to get the engine all buttoned up 😊. Been a full week now trying to sort wiring out😅. Still not quite their yet. But hopefully get her on the road by next week. I litterly can't even imagine how hard that loom was to do on the p1. Absolute respect 👌
you got this bro don't give up the books will end up fine after the work is done i believe in you trespass into the realm of the car gods
I'm pretty sure that Tavarish will get some of the available parts from Mad Mike's p1and with that being said this would be epic on this Frankin Stein build.I've been following this channel for Three years.Major props for this build and ,I salute you for tediously stepping out of the box. This build is game changer.I'm fully locked in on this build!!!!
McLaren will have something ready for you because they are aware of your activities. Seeing what they come up with is going to be amazing. You're having fun pushing McLaren's capabilities.
hey I know this comment doesn't matter but that interior is on point. Gorgeous.
Freddie, I so hope you dont feel pressured by viewers to hurry up, just do your thing at your comfortable pace. Do this for you and only you. The videos are a great bonus, but its secondary to the build itself.
I did in the past a similar path that you've done with a turbo for myself and yes it's expensive, but man...the smiles you will get are priceless! You will not regret. Anyway, happy to see you doing evrything the right way, keep on rollin man!
Honestly, the suspense enhances the enjoyment of any video, regardless of its duration. We'll all be here to share the event with you, so just take your time, do it correctly, and enjoy yourself!
SL55 manual conversion next, please 😆 I have been waiting 8 years for this to happen
Freddie and Matt Armstrong. Two of the most down to earth honest and all round Nice guys on UA-cam.
Thanks for the update, Freddie. I'm looking forward to seeing the P1 progress.
To hell with those people and their negativity Freddy!! You take as long as you want on these projects buddy! You’re real fans and supporters will be here waiting patiently and watching!!
this vid was all over the place with all your projects, cars, parts and work shopS...this was badass! thanks freddie!!!
Those wires are nightmare. I can't even imagine building those from scratch
Respect start here 🙌 ❤
I think at this point, you notice the analytics tell you how many of us click within moments of these videos appearing online. We're here and not going anywhere. Get it done right the way you want. The more videos I see online from other car UA-camrs, the more I think I realize (and I'm sure others as well) it was a genius level idea to remove the hybrid drive. Keep making history, brother.
IDK how anyone made it thru this summer without SOME AC. July and August were absolutety brutal, and no matter what business you are in, if you were trying to get things done quickly, it was a lousy summer. I made myself sick a few times, just couldn't handle the heat and I ended up working nights for the most part. Glad you guys finally got some cooling, you deserve it...
It’s been so long, Tavarish doesn’t even remember past videos he’s already released on the P1. Sounds like Tavarish would enjoy Tavarishs vid from months ago about designing and building the turbos with the original turbo builders. 😂
I think he was just summing it up in case people are watching this video, that didn't watch *that* video.... You usually yell at the stupid recaps of episodes at the beginning of TV shows you watch? I bet you do.
42:30 omg m539 coming in? That collab would be awesome
This is the greatest McLaren P1 build on UA-cam!
Fair play for taking on such a huge job. Looking forward to seeing further updates.
People forget the dude that actually built the first hellcat Magnum took over a year and he was an engineer. Very highly smart guy. Something's just take time and it's not easy to make. I respect this guy and the time he is taking to keep the value at 1 million plus than do it right the first time
Even if the mcclaren takes a few more years, thats what it takes to do it right. Its your car. Were just here to enjoy videos. Keep truckin along, and we'll see it finished when its finished.
I always want Freddy's dream to come true. Freddy is a great guy and has done so many good things for others. Can't wait to see the P1 on the track 😎😋
😎👍
Tavarish is the man. Don’t stress the small stuff, dude. You bring a lot entertainment and interest to your projects. You’ve got fans of your work for life, bro. Can’t lie, I would love to see you with your kid in your shop. He is going to grow-up ridiculously proud of you, Tavarish.
Don’t stress about the time it takes brother, thanks for updating us with your progress. Good things come to those who wait. Peace
You and your men work hard on your projects.Great to see a young man with so much passion. Thanks all great family program
Freddy I love all the videos you produce. I will never be able to own any of those cars, but with your channel I get to live vicariously.
Hello Tavarish, I have followed your P1 videos since the first one and enjoy your updates on how the project is moving along. Keep up the good work.
He got rid of it, then bought another new 911, and the exact same thing happened.
fixing this McLaren I think might be more challenging than starting your own car factory
Freddy I don't care if you finish anything!! You have one hell of an operation going on over there and one of if not the best team. Hats off to you I don't wear a hat ever but I'm taking it off.
That white Gallardo that you redid is the reason I started watching your channel. So HAPPY you brought the blue Diablo "kit" car back to the states for me! Just what I need to roll up in to my kid's soccer practice while my ex is in her gen 5 camaro bwahahhaha!
I was watching airplane crashes and then your video popped up, so I watched, then watched more. As a girly girl who loves to dress in designer clothes, I also like to wear just a basic sundress and crank on engines. I do a lot of my own repairs. I think your channel is great. I would love to drive that car!!
Just echoing everyone else here, just take your time dude. We all understand how insanely complex and demanding this build is, obviously it's gonna take a long time. You're not only resurrecting a completely dead car, you're building a one of a kind masterpiece. Of course we're all super excited and looking forward to seeing more progress, but having to wait is genuinely fine and totally understandable. Do what you gotta do, the car is gonna be so sick when it's done c:
You are breaking new ground all over with this build! This is some pretty great work! You guys could use the knowledge you have gained to help build after market harnesses.
lol the whole VW add was funny. My 99 E class does that with the remote from factory 😂
