exactly what I wanted and needed to hear! John the audio on your voice was clean and clear. Beautiful visual demonstration. Great instruction. Thank you!
Hey John, I just picked up a Sidewinder from a friend. Haven't used a Tesoro since my old Cutlass II Umax. Your video really comes in in handy. Thanks for keeping it up. Bill
John, Thanks so much for the great video on the “roll” method. I still use my Vaquero and love it. It finds very deep targets. Too bad they closed the family business. They were a very helpful and friendly group.
I’ve got the Toltec2 and I haven’t used it much to learn all its features so this video helped alot👍 I’ve got a good detector but got to learn it’s ways
such fine units,so light ,incredible disc, and reasonable depth .. man what i have found with this beepers .. it still amazes me. and the "tesoro roll" like you explain .. it works flawless. i do it like that all the time amd for me it feels better then looking towards a screen since sound is the way to go .. and not the numbers. even a two way beep can be a good target. if i can pull out the sound by lifting the coil poco a poco .. and the sound stays the same only fainted more and more .. sens at 6 - 9 then i feel like digging ! coins ! for jewelry , take some good breakfest and 2 coffee and dig everything that even sound like a beep with the disc set at the f of foil . sense as mucho as posible without the detector going nuts. still happy with my tesoros. very good video man thanks for sharing
Tesero compadre set 10 o clock position, because small gold rings come in there. Really don't know whats under coil ,until you dig it. I have noticed deep quarters are fading out below pull tab,,,so really need to dig it all
Yeah, well I never trusted those newer Tessoros. I still use the old style metal box ElDorado! I also have an original Silver Sabre. The Ed Dorado does everything!! It will find a silver dime at 8 inches in a pull tab patch! I got half a gallon of civil war bullets and buttons, and if your panning it will find every black sand pocket on a creek and with the small coil nugget shoot just fine!!! You see, that puppy came from the factory with 10 turn pots!!! You can adjust that baby!!!!
I metal detect at an 1880's stage stop where the keepers disposed of their tin cans all over. Well back then the cans were sealed all over with lead solder and my tesoro doesn't seem to discriminate the solder because it's so dense. Anybody else have that problem?
What I love is the doubting thomas's everyone thinks they are junk,.. ha ha ha So I dn't need to worry about an $800.00 detector getting confiscated,.. Yeah ohio sucks,.. drive around it. I would do tests bury some gold to see how deep it can see it. Thank you for you dedication John, another great video.
I agree John now you use the Cibola but at the foil level it is very staticky and choppy therefore there is no reason to dig.now, wiith that said gold comes in between the tab and nickel expanse because it differentiates between ferrous and non-ferrous metals.i have been using Tesoros for yearsand You are right somewhat but,all told it was a good video and the tesoro bench techs have the power to enhance your machine they can soup it up whereas you can get more depth out of the machine.if you ever have a problem with their machine contact rusty Henry he is all Tesoro "Great Guy"
John how you doing I have a problem with my Cibola coil, it does not stay stationary it is moving up and down all the time while detecting is there a cure for this problem , Ive tried tighting the coil but it does not help :-( any advise is welcomed I've had the detector for only 3 months , Thanks
John, great video but have a question. I just bought the Mojave and found a nickel, gold ring, and pulltabs all sound alike. How do you tell the difference without digging everything. I love the Tesoro but there has got to be some trick I'm not doing. I want some gold. Please help!!!!!
I have a video up that tells you how to find out what is under our coil but if you found a gold ring allready your machine is doing what it need to do happy hunting.
You have blown my mind. After ten years of doing this glorious hobby. Wow.

Interesting, someone just leant me a Toltec 80 and hopefully this applies. I'm just not 100% sure how the 'tuning' potentiometer works.

thanks for the great words
Tesoro Bench Techs????
Thank you so much for your advise , what do you think of the Mojave compared to the Cibola
John how you doing I have a problem with my Cibola coil, it does not stay stationary it is moving up and down all the time while detecting is there a cure for this problem , Ive tried tighting the coil but it does not help :-( any advise is welcomed I've had the detector for only 3 months , Thanks
do you have the rubber washers that fit in the coil if not get some rubber and make a couple of washers
Sensitivity is turned all the way down?
The Sensitivity knob on this model is also the on/off switch. He had it turned off for the video.
This helped, thanks.
Well done. Thanks!
Would this work with the grey Cibola?
it works with all Tesoro's but the 5c and pull tab goes out right on the marks
Fantastic , Thank you
Nice info thanks for it.
+forest stinnett Thanks

But that's US coins. It's way WAY different with Canadian coins John. Good video to go by for gold tho. So thanks for that Tesoro Roll Sir!

Sorry but it would be better shown & explained working in the field.
