Your disc knob is off from the factory it's not because the 11x8 RSD coil is more sensitive. Just loosen the set screw and adjust the knob were it drops the nickel right at the nickel mark and all will be good. It is not uncommon for the disc knob to be off one way ore the other from the factory on Tesoro detectors. I have had to adjust the disc knob to drop out the nickels on the nickel mark on almost every Tesoro I have ever owned. I just did it on my new Black Vaquero it was dropping nickels past the nickel mark, now it's spot on. I also had to do it on my new Black Tejon and also did it on my older Outlaw. After you do this adjustment (Knob calibration) to your knob the knob will be spot on throughout the range at were the targets drop out. You are right about the 1/4 turn negative to get more depth on the Vaquero also on the Tejon.Happy Hunting,Bill G
Good review ! Sensitivity more. It means greater depth Lower sensitivity, depth lose Lose one inch in depth ! I hunt with sensitivity 11- 12. GL & HH !
I bought a Vaquero a few months ago from Rusty. I haven't been able to reach him lately. He showed us how to use the thing, but we could use a little more help. Is there a way I can contact you? I should elaborate, I'm struggling with ground balance. We are in Prescott, AZ so the mineralization is high.
the Bandido sets up like the Vaquero If you are going to do parks schools ect you don't need to much sencitivity and set the discriminator about 3 the main thing is to ground balance it
Thanks. I just ordered one and can’t wait to hunt with it.
Thank you John, very helpful manual for me. Greetings from Poland!
