As an old skool Tesoro user (i had 8 different Tesoro's)" one advice. Ij you going for the parcs and recreation areas, take the Lobo Super Traq. Not the deepest Tesoro but the only Tesoro that can disc out bottle caps and a part of the pull tabs without losing the gold. The Lobo Super Traq is the detector that found me the most gold of every detecter i ever had.
Nice repair video. Keep in mind Tesoro is no longer in business as well as White metal detectors and both have quite a following. It seems that both of these machines can be upgraded with a blue tooth module inside as well as putting in a rechargeable battery. I'm thinking of doing this to a Tesoro Vaquero with blue tooth and 11v rechargeable battery. If you offer such a service to the most popular models with either a White’s detector or a Tesoro I bet people would be interested.
Good work :) ! What would have been damaged on the board if one would have accidentaly reversed the polarity ? - It just happened to me :( ... Would it have killed some diodes or condensators, or ?? Do you have schematics of this machine ? Thankful for every help !!
I caught no mention of the wire colors on the board side? my battery red is connected to board green, and my battery black is connected to board red. What do I need to know about that? I am not plugging it in until I find an answer. Is there any source for the schematic that you are aware of? I may have missed something covered by your video.
I could do with one of those. When screws roll off my workbench (which they seem to do with evil intent), they ALWAYS roll into the darkest and most inaccessible places! Would you mind sticking that thing in a box, and sending it to me?!
Nice fix, and I'm sure the item does its job well, but that circuit board... this thing looks like it was built in a shed rather than actually manufactured. Just a nest of wires.
I was about to mention I think you forgot something but I forgot it wasn't alive video I guess we're all only human and we make mistakes nobody's perfect but I guarantee you there's people out there that say I would have never made that mistake and they think they're always perfect but I guarantee if you look back in their lifetime they've made similar or not bigger mistakes
Tesoro made some great detectors. Its too bad they are no longer in business. Cheap chinese imports are wiping out these iconic american manufacturers one by one. Tesoro and whites are now gone, others are certain to soon follow. Very sad!
Iconic detector. Even after not using this detector for 5 years, almost 50% of my gold still came from this one.
I'm looking into getting one! They look sweet. The one I'm looking at isn't the newer Super Traq though,, think it's the original.

I like that dual alligator clip thingy for holding the wires while soldering. I'm making one now. Nice fix, too, BTW.
Those new battery holders look like the battery holders found in the Garret AT Pro.

Can't tell you how many times I forget the damn heat shrink. 😖😤 And yes that dual alligator clip is super radical. 😎🙌😎
Tesoro made some great detectors. Wish they had not gone out of business.

Holy crap I thought a baby was crying when it beeped lol
Do you have a Tesoro Lobo schematic by any chance or do you know if Tesoro sold stuff like that to someone?
You have it in "rubber ducky" mode! Maybe that is for water searches...
If it's that sensitive would be handy to find all the c clips, springs etc that got away.
So what would operating voltage be? 9v or 18v? And is it possible just to run it on 2 9v batteries?
It has all of the batteries in series so 12 volts, it will probably run down to 9ish volts before critical components don't like the low voltage.
@@norcal715 where did you buy those battery holders? Mine are toast. They are extremely corroded.

Mine too, did you find some?
Thanks.

The positive go's directly to the power switch contact, the negative solders to the board. Sorry no schematics available, that I know of.
@@norcal715 thankyou. so J1 on the board is negative and j2 is the positive fed from the on off switch?
It sounds like when calling a duck.

Too bad it doesn't detect heat shrink.
