This is awesome ! A pity Black didnt get a better result, though. The Ra4 ressource is really stylish, it crops up in several other lines as well. The variations you show, in particular the Queen sac are truly brilliant, no matter if they are computer generated. Another idea that I"ve had some fun with in the past is ...Ra5 rather than ...Qe7 to support the recapture on e5 in a different manner. Usually not the objectively best line, but obviously that's not the point of the gambit.
Just wanted to say that I love your content man. Dubious gamits is what brings me the most joy in chess by far and your videos are the holy grail when it comes to this. Your caro kann trap in particular has netted me a bunch of wins. :D
every time. I think you've exhausted the possibilities of this opening you show an absolutely absurd variation. if only I had the cojones to play it and compliant opponents lol
I didn't play the Wagon gambit before, but I have one interesting gambit. After 1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 a6 3. Nc3 b5 4. cxb5 axb5 5. Nxb5 you can play 5. c5. It's not as dubious as the Wagon gambit and it has an interesting idea. If they take 6. dxc5 you can play 6. Qa5+ forking the king and the knight. The only way to save them is to go to c3 which then you will play Ne4 and pressure the knight. I suggest you look into it
That's actually quite intriguing ! My first thought at reading this was that White should be able to acheive some particularly favourable form of Benko but on closer inspection this doesn't seem possible. So yes, definitely worth looking into !
Did black miss checkmate @8:45? After white captures the pawn with Rd7, black can move Qb1+ with check, forcing white to take the queen with the rook and allowing black to recapture the rook with forced backrank mate. The only way that white prevents mate there is for the knight to block the check and give up the rook (which will inevitably lead to white's loss)
No, Rxb1 is not forced! There is one other move, Rd1, blocking the check with the rook and now you have to move the queen out the way. This is one tactical defence that, in many occasions, a lot of players miss.
Hey man I have 2 gambits that are named in the chess database that nobody had ever played! There not complicated! If you could do a video on one of these that would be great! Van geet Düsseldorf gambit: Nc3 c5 b4 Kings fianchetto opening Lasker simul special vankuijic gambit: g3 h5 nf3 h4
Understandable...but being the proximate cause of a 1000% impact...and at the highest levels!?Much cooler and spectacular than 50k subs...or even 100k. Big kudos to you! Very impressive.
8:46 BLACK MISSED M4 BLACKS TURN QUEEN SACRIFICE B1 AND ROOK TAKES B1 AGAIN AND THEN WHITE BLOCKS THEN BLACK TAKES AND WHITE BLOCKS WITH KNIGHT AND BLACK TAKES KNIGHT CHECKMATE
It’s so difficult for me to accept that the wagon gambit actually has some merits. I look at it and just think “you dumb wagon, you’ll never be good for anything.”
@@MrDrompel Not exactly but it was winning material. If the Queen checks on G1, the Knight can block on e1. The queen can't take the knight, but has to take the rook, then the opponent can move the king next to the knight on f1, and thus the mate is avoided. Winning non the less for black.

I haven't played the Wagon Gambit but I did win with that really bad English Gambit you told me not to play.
what is the really bad english gambit
tell me

Really nice gambit, thanks for sharing! Lots of tactics at play here.

GREAT STUFF , DONE VERY GOOD VIDEO !!!!!!
I learn more about Chess from Jonathan than I do any other online Chess Wizard and without the attitude and ego. Thank you!!
Great analysis Jonathan. Keep up the good work
The Super GM must've been pissed that he couldn't figure it out in the opening.
8:44 a force check mate after wrxd2, Qb1 check nice game
good point but white can answer that with Qb1+, Ne1, QxRa1... white wins easily.... but Qb1+, R7d1, and Queen has to retreat...
only checkmate if white takes the queen. white doesnt need to take the queen.

8:46 why does the back rank queen sac not work, the knight and rook are not coordinated so it should work?
If 24. ... Qb1+, White doesn't take the Queen immediately but instead plays 25. Rd1 and avoids the back rank mate.
i was wondering the same thing! glad u commented this :D
@@JonathanSchrantz thank you

Now all you need are some insane variations like the Queen sac line presented in this video...

@@bababooeu7539 Ah I missed that, good eye!
Brilliant tactics & fun stuff!
There is gambit called the maddigan gambit that is very similar to the wagon and the Budapest. You should defiently make a video on it
Please make a full video featuring everything for the wagon gambit
Hey man I have 2 gambits that are named in the chess database that nobody had ever played! There not complicated! If you could do a video on one of these that would be great!
Van geet Düsseldorf gambit: Nc3 c5 b4

That's quite the impressive name for a gambit - referring to the second of course

WE LOVE WAGON GAMBIT! WE LOVE WAGON GAMBIT!
hello
At 1:27, isn't Bd2 just much stronger?
alternatively, Nf3
hello
Did you know that if you beat an opponent 10 consecutive times with this gambit, it's called a "bandwagon adoption"
hello
That's awesome! Is it even possible to explore a position without "tangents"?
Very helpful
Going to try this.
Looks like a fun gambit!
We should ban Wagon Gambit. This is too overpowered
Guess you could say Monkey King hopped on the BANDWAGON!? AMIRITE?
More like off
ive been trying to play it so hard but everyone declines it for some reason lol
The declined variations are fun too.
they fear the wagon
8:46 BLACK MISSED M4
BLACKS TURN QUEEN SACRIFICE B1 AND ROOK TAKES B1 AGAIN AND THEN WHITE BLOCKS THEN BLACK TAKES AND WHITE BLOCKS WITH KNIGHT AND BLACK TAKES KNIGHT CHECKMATE
Whites Rook can fall back to first rank; blocking the check and threatening Blacks Queen
*Why don't they just make SGM a real title?*

same lol but this game had an awesome beginning

hi:D
Hi!
Day 38 of asking for a video on my funny English lines
Back rank mate was missed by black.
No it wasn't
8:45 QG1
