    Thank you for posting this video. I just started using the 523, my first pump ever, on Friday. I'm enjoying it so far.

      +SuperGadgetGuy Exactly! No more stopping in the middle of working to do a shot. This pump has been great to me. I was nervous at first, but everything has become second nature to me.

      Yep and when you are offered a dessert, you can actually eat it, just chase it with another bolus.

      +SuperGadgetGuy Yes! And if your sugar is a little on the low side, it backs off the basal rate. I like how exact it is on the bolus/basal rate.

      +Jon Spiteri Good luck. It's a tough disease to have. I will try to reach out to the different pump manufactures to see if they will allow me to do a review/walk through with their pumps. There are many more pump options now even compare to few years ago.

    hi. i work for animas. i was surprised to hear how fast u got ur replacement pump. when it comes to answering the phone. don't worry. always leave a message. they always call back. many ppl love the Medtronic.. its way better then animas

    • @MichelleInyeshua
      @MichelleInyeshua 7 років тому

      remember to leave your messages slow n clear
      so often when we listen to our voicemail ppl rush their name and number and we can't back to them.we always call back no matter how small the question-issue is.

      Ya medtronic is slow on new technology adaptation but fast phone support. I wish they would update their technology a little faster, a little more innovative. But i can totally understand they want reliable technology first since it's a medical device.

    Have you been on other pumps? if so what is better about this one in your opinion. We are looking at Tslim

    • @SuperGadgetGuy
      @SuperGadgetGuy  10 років тому

      When I first started looking into pumps. T-Slim was just approved for sale in the US and lacks customer support/service when comparing to Medtronic. Tslim wasn't offering return/exchange after purchase. Medtronic was a lot better about that. Also i was interested in CGM and didn't want to carry another device around. I am sure Tslim service/support has caught up by now. So far i am very happy with my pump even though it lacks a color screen. It does get the job done.

      +Kevin Roch Insulin pump are just that an insulin pumping device. It only pumps out insulin at the level you set. Both basal and bolus rate. Infusion set, is the part that takes the insulin from the pump and delivers to your body. (small tube under the skin). The reason you see the glucose level, some pumps like the 530G or the t slim G4 has integrated CGM Continous Glucose Monitor that does the glucose reading. I hope that explains it.

    Touchscreen on an insulin pump?,,,, Bad. How many times have you pulled your cell phone out of your pocket and realized you've pocket dialed 3 different people without realizing it? Now, imagine laying down to go to bed and realize you just delivered a maximum dose?,... or even worse, you don't realize you've done this. Not good. I've always attributed the fact that you have multi layers of steps and buttons that don't press quite so easily to insure that this is a lot less likely to happen.

      rawg277201 They actually aren't promoting to sell it anymore I just went to a class yesterday and they said they tried it on a couple of people (Teens) and it did just that but some adults have them and they like them but they said the minimum is still better...

    • @SuperGadgetGuy
      @SuperGadgetGuy  7 років тому

      oh man, i don't have the pump anymore. look under bolus wizard setup. There should be both insulin sensitive setting and carb ratio.
