Yeah, I already knew that Kurabe and Fuyasaka were adults in the past before I got recommended this video, so now I got spoiled about the fact that all 13 of the characters were adults in the past. Have you played it yet? People kept saying it’s one of the best pieces of fiction ever, but it’s still hard to see it surpassing things like Tolkien, Yakuza, Xenoblade, and The Expanse
@@DavidHosey1 all of these are nowhere close to 13 sentinels. even tolkien, while an extremely creative and influenrial work, it's nothing to 13 sentinels. 13 sentinels is closet to Faust, because in essence it combines a huge amount of 80s/90s sci fi and anime into itself, but in a highly complex, meticulous package
@@puer4787 after re-examining some of these other stories, I really don’t see it. It’s amazing, but these other stories are either on par or even above it in some ways. Yakuza might be the best realistic fiction or the best long runner series story I’ve found, Xenoblade is surreal sci-fi fantasy at its best with some of the best game-story utilization I’ve ever seen, Tolkien was foundation shaking (tho I think it’s surpassed in story, outside of worldbuilding as that’s Tolkien’s specialty). 13 Sentinels is game-story utilization at its best with some great writing, but due to some weaker links here and there it doesn’t quite break the peaks I mentioned, or some others I’ve found as peaks of storytelling like Cyberpunk top tier humanistic writing, Mass Effect with masterful world-building that doesn’t compromise the character writing, etc. As a single game the story can possibly beat many of them, but when putting these in the context of their greater series/franchises, they’re something else. For example I don’t know if I’d ever say Xenoblade 1 or Yakuza 1 are able to beat 13 Sentinels out, but as a greater series they just have an innate advantage. Maybe if 13 Sentinels got some more material that somehow expanded it even more it would also get the boost in depth and intrigue the others took advantage of
@@DavidHosey1 I feel like the reasons you listed as to why Xenoblade\ yakuza beats out 13 sentinels is kind of a unfair, it’s like saying of this movie is better than this short film because it was able to expand and explore it’s concept more, or this TV show is better than this movie because it was able to expand and explore its concept more. There are inherent advantages when you are a three game or nine game franchise, as opposed to one. Isoleucine just as good as the original version. Always a bop.
I find it funny that so many of the tracks reuse the vocals from DEOXYRIBOSE, and yet the song itself didn't end up on the album.
