I am also using a RYZEN 5 5600H processor with graphics. I am right now on Ubuntu 22.04 LTS and was having a standby mode issues while turning off the laptop lid. It took me a lot of time to solve the issue in 22.04 LTS. It would mean a lot if you can share if you had any issues with 24.04 LTS with this AMD RYZEN 5600H and ryzen integrated graphics!

6:20 toggling dark mode does seem a bit glitchy when it moves the apps on the side slightly. Hope that gets fixed in a point release

The upcoming Jazzy Jalisco release of ros2 will target ubuntu 22.04 everything below wont run on 24.04
I think it is worth it to upgrade if you have new hardware. I read you need linux kernal 6.4 and up to use 7800x3d cpu and 7800xt gfx card. Gnome 46 also has VRR (Variable Refresh rate). I think you did a video showing how to disable and purge SNAP from Ubuntu; 1 chief reason some people hate Ubuntu.
I tried on my 12 year old PC it works fine.
Can you explain what exactly there is to "hate" SNAP?
@@hansreynders6853 Well I don't really hate SNAP I just hear it is not good from others. But then I watch some reviewer this morning for Ubuntu 24.04 and he was talking about SNAP; says newer version are faster but it compresses better than FLATPAK so in the end it adds up when you install so many apps. Another reason some people hate it is because Canonical controls it. Like anything pros/cons...

20.04 is more sufficient and stable. I am going to use until end of support (i.e 10 years). Most of us prefer Ubuntu or linux distro for stability, Minimalist and customisation. I used chatgpt to make most of the customisation and it work like a bliss.

GNOME 46 and faster perfomance. I guess wait till the point release.
My only minus is the time it takes to install compared to other distro's. It took 30 minutes to install on two of my machines,one a tower and one a laptop,other than that is a great upgrade.
It's in BETA Right. That's why, do one thing disable internet and the installation will be faster

It is available now, however upgrading from 22.04 will not be available until 24.04.1, which is scheduled for August 15.

Does anyone know how to fix flickering/glitching when using fractional scaling in Ubuntu 24.04? amd cpu with radeon igpu.
Try using 200%. I haven't had any luck with fractional scaling between 100% and 200%
I have this flickering problem with 22.04 and after checking all possible solutions I was thinking about a clean install with 24.04. :/. It seems to be a kernel issue

have it on 150%, i've only encountered the issue while trying to change while having some applications open. a reboot solves the issue for me.

Personal use gets for free, the target audience is business, because they don't like to pay the maintenance and reformulation needed to have the same system that works fine with ubuntu 22

whats the difference between linux mint, fedora and ubuntu? i dont see any significance difference between them
It's the desktop.
Compared to Ubuntu, Linux Mint uses different desktops and different tools such as the update manager. Mint is really focused on making a robust, friendly, and stable desktop for the masses and is, in my opinion, the best for the least technologically savvy.
Linux Mint is based on Ubuntu, which makes Fedora the standout among these three. Fedora leans towards new technologies more than Ubuntu does, and it seems to me that the quantity of apps available for it (if you don't use Flatpaks, AppImages, or Snaps) is lower than on Ubuntu and Mint.

I provided 4GB of RAM and 35GB of HDD 2 Cores of Processor buT IT is NoT GeTTing Installed On V.B.
IT geTs sTuck aT providing the username and password inTerface during insTallaTion. The keyboard doesn't work at this sTage.

You can upgrade, but you have to wait for point release 24.04.1
I did the update from 22.04 to 24.04. I have actually updated first to 23 then to 24. So it was like 2 big updates. Done that on my Intel Nuc pc (using it to play around with homelab and stuff) and I had only few problems with some software I had to reinstall (docker and phpstorm)
@@axelbest_pl Yeah, but I wouldn't advice that to someone rather new to Linux. Just wait 3 more months for first point release and get automatically notified that upgrade is available.
