Wanna come over and swap the heater valve on mine??🤣 good video as always 👊 oh and I think Dirks should sponsor us for the amount of times we’ve highlighted their great products 🤔
Iv thought about contacting them to see if they would be interested there just the next state over from me. But there quality is worth mentioning with or without sponsorship. It's too bad your not closer I think it would be fun to get together on something one of these days.
Train horns are always an improvement. I would be worried that the way they are mounted, they will receive a lot of road dirt and moisture. As far as the heater hoses, on my old Pete with an A model Cat. The valve on the top of the motor fed the cab heater, and the valve on the side of the motor fed the bunk heater. And shut all the valves off in the summer so the AC will keep it cooler, easier. Mrs EZ Rider is a cutie! Ol' Red is getting closer to being a "large car" each day!
I had a set of train horns on my Western Star with a hand valve and 1/2” airline. They claimed 130 db on the box. It worked well and you could see the air pressure in the truck drop pretty quickly. When properly used you could see people’s heads pop right out of their backsides. 🤣🤣
It's nice when the ladies can get involved. Wish mine would turn some wrenches with me. The horn sounds great. Has a kind of 'euro tone' to it. Good job on addressing those cooling issues. That sleeper core was a night and day difference after you cleaned it for sure.
That's a good woman right there first getting you the new steering wheel and now the horns and she helped installed them. I can't get mine to put gas in her own car, so she walks alot
Old Red doesn't keep getting better, it just gets more old school cooler. Your gonna have to buy a bigger floor mop to soak up all the cool dripping off of it. Love the train horns. Give us an update on the interior kit please. Can't wait to see it !
Now, that was really exciting...and you had a little extra help finally! 🤩 Did she have as much fun as she thought she would?! 🧐 What a blast! I like the special air horns down under, hidden and at an angle as well. Those cores were quite filthy! 😟 Good stuff, as always! 🤩
Nice job painting the tractor! Such a job as you did here, warrants the intentional replacement of some if not all parts in the system. From the heater core to all connections on the motor block. Hoses and clamps are cheap and heater cores can be repaired easy enough if not seriously damaged. Some parts aren't cheap but I believe for the trouble it's worth eliminating frequent failures from aging parts. Also, water builds up scale which eventually corrodes metal parts. Yes, labor intensive! You just bite your lip and get er' done! Awesome job!
My heater valve on my 85 359 is not working and I was just about to work on it this weekend. perfect timing for this episode. You probably saved me some soldering and two hours of time by watching your trial and error. I bought a similar horn a few years back but have not installed it yet....My wife was watching this with me and I told her maybe she should step up her game and help me install it.....Not happening she said.
Another awesome video, i did the same job with all the hoses last year in my driveway on my 379. And this 100% a complement my friend, your like me, your wife is way to pretty to be with dirty truck owners and non stop projects lol why they choose folks like us is beyond me 😅
Nice catch on the heater and getting it fixed , no worries on the mistake and cleaning both heater cores . To the wife nice addition to the truck , love the horns .
That was a big job. The maintenance on your heater system you did was extensive and you got ‘er done in a few hours; I’m guessing. You make it look so easy. LOL! Thanks for the tips and sharing the important stuff Easy! So grateful for everything I learn watching your channel.
Lol it looks like the BOSS! (Wife) Enjoyed pulling that cord. Great content as usual Ez. Your one lucky man!! Cheers from Sydney Australia again! 🇦🇺🦘🐨🇦🇺
Sure is a beautiful 359! One of the first trucks I ever drove was a late 70's 359. I'm looking for one now for a project truck for me and my old man to restore. He's been driving for 50 years, many a mile put on a 359!
G'day that was terrific good to see your wife it was well worth it to change all the heater hoses on Big Red , I'm not sure about where you've put the horns I suppose I'm use to them being on the roof however I really love the truck it's a blood beauty and real credit to you with all the work you put into her. Nice to see you all stay safe and warm kind regards John
Well Mr lets get to it fantastic work and always educational you are almost finished big red and I hope that you keep your videos going so thanks and to include your wife a family effort fantastic so much happiness for you and your family in the new year and beyond
Good start to the new year 2021 gettin the misses out in the shed for some well deserved bonding,, she must be gettin sick ov you spending so much time with all ov us👍, maybe you'll have to get some big horns on the Mack so she can make another guest appearance KEEP ON TRUCKINGGOOD 👍☠️☠️👍
I wish I’d of known you were doing this beforehand. I would of suggested getting rid of the worm clamps and replacing them with heater hose spring clamps (constant tension band). They work great and do not require rechecking and retightening on new hose and no worm slots to cut thur your hoses later.
Awesome video, I used to change my hoses about every 3 to 4 years once the original hoses wore out. My truck when new came with that blue colored hose that was a better quality & lasted longer but was quite a bit more expensive.I had a leak one time on the hose going to the sleeper on the road & that was enough for me. They got changed BEFORE a problem came. Peterbilt 379's they moved that actuator that the cable hooked up to on the outside of the firewall. changed that several times to.it was made out of plastic & even if I turned the valves off it seemed that s little amount of heat came off the core plus the cable would pull harder to. Keep the video's coming & Happy New Year from South Dakota to you & your wife.
That blue hose was probably 100% silicone rubber, the way to go actually. Lasts a long long time. That hose requires special clamps though. Either the constant tension band spring clamps or worm clamps for silicone rubber, which have an inner band that shields the hose from the exposed worm gear slots, which will cut into the silicone like a hot knife thru butter.
Brother, I must say that both you and Twin Sticks Garage have the best trucking content out there, HANDS DOWN!! Its great seeing the wife helping you on your project(s).. Keep up the good work from Gill Trucking Inc out of Raleigh NC!!!!!
Greetings from Ireland and happy new year to you both . You never fail to amaze with both the varietyof jobs to be done and, more importantly, the knowledge and patience that you have. It is heartening to see a real restoration being carried out and not just a poor quality paint spray job. You and twinsticks should be given medals for your dedication. God bless and keep up the good work.
Man you are going to blow someone ear out if there in a car or blow out there windows.lol.and you and your wife work very well together.great video my friend
Your wife’s response was priceless. All fun.
One thing I enjoy about this restoration is that you take your time and do everything right! Keep it up, man!!!
I like when my wife comes to the garage when I'm working. She does it more now since I don't throw stuff or cuss any more.....well not as much😁🤗🇺🇸
Wow, the Mrs bought you a train horn for Christmas, she's definitely a keeper.

Maybe get old blue down for some new paint. Mates rates on the bill. 😆
Can't beat Old Red & Old Blue.
Fingers crossed for that to happen!

Horns and wife helping were great ,stay warm up there.

Everybody turns into a kid when they pull the train horn. Awesome !!
Glad your wife enjoyed helping. Her reaction was priceless when blew the horn

I get what your wife was thinking about putting horns on the roof, not those ones though lol. Love your work
Seen them on Mexican trucks in Nogales! Different and not for me.
ezra did too much work putting that roof on there, the horns can go underneath 🤣
Glad to see you and Mrs EZ this New Years have a great year
What a good sport your wife is... and she's pretty to boot!
That was great to see you both helping each other work on the truck. I am sure those horns are going to surprise a few unwary souls.

Excellent, nothing as miserable as no heater when it's cold.
Love the horns 😊
You got that right!
Great work mate
