Come on people start subscribing this guy is putting out more quality step by step instructions videos than anyone else and this rig is just straight badass!!
This guy is like a few other channels on YT where actual work is done so he doesn't get ALL the truck loving population just the ones that either work on them or want to learn how. The channels with big sub counts do goofy kid shit and are basically like bob the builder channels. They have other people do the real work and then do cosmetic stuff themselves and the truck never sees real commercial use. Ezra is not one of those, coming from someone that does this too, he's the real deal. Honestly I have no idea why anybody would start a YT channel nowadays with all the BS, especially when fools like whistling weezul and Broooce Wilson are considered "truck" channels. But Ezra deserves a few hundred thousand so at least it'll pay for his time filming.
Foul language is a vital part of any transmission or clutch install. And if you are doing both it can really get colorful. You even have the tendency to create new and unheard of before ones...
Love the videos!!! Great trick to removing/installing the clutch assembly!!! Glad to hear I'm not the only one to use the 'persuasive ' word approach when things don't go right!!!🤣
Retired mechanic here Ezra. Anytime I forget how good it is to be retired I'm going to re-watch this video. You sir, are a superstar in my book ! P.S.- love the clutch jack, great idea !
I am not a person who ever comments on anyone's safety practices but I have done this under my truck and I was thinking same as you... no safety glasses!
You need a set of 6-8“ long line up bolts to put your flywheel on and off. Same for the clutch and transmission. Using those line up bolts make it so much easier. Also you can’t get your fingers stuck under the flywheel in the bell housing.
I agree 100% my Uncle taught me that nifty lil Trick many years ago. I keep long Line Up Bolts for about every big Truck Job (Rear Ends, Power Dividers, Trans, etc) in my Toolbox, and treat them like they are the Holy Grail.i never let anyone use them, borrow them, etc. If I even catch anyone looking at them, I am on them like white on rice. Lol Their not the easiest Bolts in the world to find.
@@hankclingingsmith8707 what you just seen took a couple of weeks, just like a hunting video, it's the eleventh day and we think we know the pattern the elk are traveling this morning, yeah it's a big job
Was that little hammer Jimmy’s? Does he always leave stuff laying around? That 18 speed is going to put him to sleep. Anyway, I learned a lot as usual; Thanks EZ! I especially like the clutch jack. What an awesome idea! I’m sure it helps to avoid mistakes too.
I always look forward to Saturday mornings working on Old Red. Nice video! You had to play Casey Jones, as I’m getting ready to go to work and run a train.
Good lord man we know you can fix anything mechanical by now but putting that trans back in by yourself at least one time phone a friend brother that kind of weight and lining things up no wonder you turned the camera off 🤣 excellent work as usual everyone should share the heck out of this we need to get you more subs definitely one of my favorite channels on UA-cam!
Bad words are a pretty good "purge valve"......😂😂😂😂..... usually don't work for me but sure feels good👍👍👍👍.....good job.... ALWAYS wondered what all that looked like coming out/in.....just had all that done to mine, except tranny swap, and short period after have developed another leak from bottom of bell housing, like before all that work was done😤😤.... always something......too bad all mechanics aren't as thorough as you👍👍👍
been a mech. for 48 yrs. now and counting .. ive told off a few motors, trans, ect. YOU GOT TO LET THAT STUFF KNOW HOWS BOSS!!!!! RIGHT?? LOL..HAHA!!!!!!!!!! and yes ive said some words that would make a sailor blush!!! sorry....
You don't need a retirement fund, truck drivers don't retire (how can you work if your retired). Ol'red is gonna be one sweet machine, your lucky to have her. Keep the shiney side up and the dirty side down driver.
Wow you sure make things look easy I've rolled around beat bang a lot of bad words then go for a walk take a break then come back and seems to go better I like your clutch Jack set up never would have thought of that but no now if I ever need to do this again but I usually was on dirt doing this so put plywood down to roll Jack on but you stay safe , stay healthy , stay rolling
Another excellent video, clutch adjustment video you made save my ass, sure would be nice to hang out with you in the garage. Glad you listen to excellent music, some of these trucker videos with the hip-hop music, it's just not natural, thanks for sharing your knowledge. I really do appreciate it.
Try guide studs made by chopping off bolt heads to help with installs. I install my clutch adjustment on the down side when the engine stopped on the compression stroke. Almost every time the adjuster will be on the bottom when the engine is stopped.
Once again................. very very entertaining an knowledgable ... Like taking classes every weekend.... Excellent job..... Wish i had a garage like yourself... have to wait till spring/summer to get started on my 97 Int'l eagle.... accumulating parts though .... had to make sure i obtained insurance first ... some are saying my truck was too old... didnt want to waste money right .... Exellent work again, another quality video of yours. Eaton twin spilt, proper gearbox, non of the rubbish in todays trucks. I drive a volvo automatic 😬 over here. Looking forward to the next one feller 👍
What a great installation you preformed by your self. I have learned so much just by watching your videos. Thanks for sharing your passion on the rebuild of the 359.

Well that seemed pretty painless, at least you have some room under there. In my experience some cussing is always involved in putting transmissions back in. Does that aerosol great stuff have a long shelf life?
Great job! The only bad words I can imagine that a truck driver/owner operator might use would be..."good grief"... 2050 clutch!?!? Sounds like someone might be tempted to dive into the pump down the road...
yeah plan is to giver a little really don't plan on turning it up so much that i really need a 2050tq clutch but you know how those plans can sometimes change down the road...lol
when i am putting u-joints in, i hang the driveshaft from the frame with a small ratchet strap. that is how i like to do a repair...if i touch it and it wont last a good few years i replace it. much cheaper to do it while your in there than taking it all apart again or along side the road with a service truck. very enjoyable video ezra.
Something like this it's a lot better to just spend the money up front on parts while you're already doing the labor. Iv got a funny story about doing u u joint on the road I should tell in a video one of these days.
Ezra. Great video. I get worried sometimes when you are working alone with such heavy items. Loved the music. Can't wait to see the next video. Stay Safe. Be careful installing or repair work on your trucks.

Both of my trucks have 8LL‘s in them. I would love to convert both of them to 18 speeds because I do not use either truck for vocational work anymore. They are both OTR.
They’re both overdrive so it’s fine at speed it’s just when you get into the mountains then it becomes a problem. Just not enough gear choices to keep the engine in the right power band and still be able to maintain a decent speed.
I bought a new 763 Bobcat the last year they made them, to push snow in Mt. It was enclosed and heated so with 3 teenaged girls I never did get to play in the snow with it. Handy little unit though.
Is there anything this guy cant do ? He’s a wealth of knowledge !
