I'm a broke uni student but I'll share this around as I love your work.
Well, that's too bad. I was really looking forward to this idea. This is good enough to be picked up by a group like netflix just like Scavengers Reign. I really doubt that crowd sourcing funding would have ever worked though.
@@sgtarpin I understand your concern. 2 things:
1. Today high quality animation can easily be made without big studio involvement. Im working with people that have successfully done so and won awards at Cannes and Annecy film festivals (check more on Indiegogo page).
2. The purpose of this campaign is to present it to film festivals and get noticed by big studios there and/ or get enough online viewership and continue to fund it independently like many successful indie web series do.
If I were you, I'd personally put together another trailer for it - which I understand is an absolutely absurd amount of work, and try to push a new campaign on that. The algorithm doesn't do so hot with super short horizontal videos now-a-days, the 3 minutes-ish you had before went hard and definitely proved the concept can and will do well.
Alternatively, if you can get one more good push on a trailer, you could get sponsors to pay for the whole thing. If it averaged 1 million views an episode even low-tier sponsors pay around $30/1,000 views, which might give you the runway you need to make this work. ($30k/episode in that example)
Man this project just popped up in my feed and so sad to see this didnt get funded, as an artist i can see a lot of love was/is being put into this project and wish i had a big platform to get you guys more attention. This has that 80s feel of anime, an upgraded version of Heavy metal in many ways.

Hey! I just want to say you inspired me to make a dream project as well. It isn't a reality yet, but I am beginning work on a video game, also using NPR blender visuals, so thanks so much for that inspiration. I don't have much but I sent a bit of money, hope it all goes well!

but yes, the algorithms do not work the way we want. so it’s not enough to release a couple of videos.

That's an awesome project and wish you the best. I want to add my 2cts on this ytb think. The algorithm tend to show videos to people who don't know you so tried to explain at least who you are and why you are doing this (You don't have to redo everything from scratch, you can use what you already have) Also , it feels you excluding people who are not part of your community...you assuming that everybody knows you, I'm pretty sure that in your ytb statistics, roughly 80/60% of people watching this video are not subscribers. Also 40k subs doesn't mean 40k€, though 12k€ for 40k sub is very good conversion rate. Take a look a Jake Parker's channel, is explaining well how to build a Kickstarter and talks about the marketing side of it. Good luck!

Can I contribute as a voice actor?
I can't really afford to support you financially but if you want help from a fellow 3d artist I'd be willing volunteer free of charge. Though I am being motivated slightly by self interest because I'd jump at a chance to learn from you by working with you on one of your projects. I mean I can make stuff with blender but I feel there's this depth to your work that I just simply don't have in mine so of course I want to absorb some of that knowledge.

Looks like I can't, but no worries, I am adapting the script to fit the budget + there is a possibility of another production company co-funding the animation. Will see how it goes.
