Ive never tried shooting it but my P99AS and PDP the frame and slides are interchangeable and the trigger works/resets in dry fire. It's a fantastic handgun and easy to learn to get good with. It's pretty much all I enjoy shooting anymore. Return to point of aim is fantastic.
Did you consider the PDP Pro Series? I wasn't interested in the PDP until the release of the Pro Series. I decided to experiment with both the compact and full size. I have a PMM comp on the compact slide to use on both the compact and full size frame. I choose the PDP Pro Compact and Full Size because they both come with three 18 round magazines, threaded barrel, magwell, and the dynamic flat trigger.

Highly recommend an aftermarket recoil spring. I found my PDP a bit too snappy and that fixed the issue completely with a Sprinco
