This is a type of comparison PS should do and never did. They dont care about letting people know what they are going to buy.
Thanks a lot for that video)

2 years old Evo and looks like that ? I just got mine few days ago and worry the exposed heal carbon gonna get scratched after 1st year. Your is in very nice condition.
I am surprised u keep the ratchet strap in full length, im thinking of cutting it short as it stick out too much for my liking.
How are your liners doing in Evos ? My feet sweat a lot and worry about smell or other moisture damage later on. Gonna give a try to ski boot dryers after each skate.

      Thanks for the questions mate.
Yeah the boot has almost two years mileage. And I do fall a lot, almost every skating session. Somehow the heel is unaffected but the front part of the foot and the sides receive the most damage.
I didn’t clip the straps, didn’t even think about it, they never bothered me in fact. But I did lose one strap and when it got replaced in the shop I think they clipped the replacement one, if I remember correctly.
Re smell, my best solution I found the “Odor eaters” shoe spray I buy in coles or Woolies here in Australia. After two years there is literally no smell at all, believe it or not. But you have to spray after every skating session.

@@nikoblading Thanks for the feedback, gonna check out the odor eaters, im still in break-in period but already loving the boot.

    I just got my Tau.
Same pain in the ankle than you. I heat molded them, we will see.
I juste tried them on my balcony for 2 min, the heel lock is insane. And the boot just feel like an extension on the feet.
But it seems I have less support than my Fr intuition (I'm 2m tall and the tau is way lower).
The problem seems to be the toe box that seems too narrow for me, even if I don't have wide feet.
Will see, but I'm not too optimistic.
It's a shame because the FR Spin has not enought suppport and the new Rollerblade Crossfire seems to have a bad heel lock while the Tau has a perfect heel lock, something really important to me.
And I'm not sure there is another option (for a boot alone with integrated liner) at a decent price :(

I can tell you that the pain in my ankle is completely gone, the boot has been completely broken in, and it feels better than Evo. Crazy sturdiness and support.
My height is 1.78cm, I’m much shorter than you, so I guess the difference could be very significant.
What about the length, you said it’s too narrow, but is it still ok for skating? If not I hope you can replace for a larger ones.
In my experience the Evo is even slightly narrower in the toe part but wider in the midfoot area. Such an interesting trade offs.

@@nikoblading I only tried it for 30min and unfortunatly I can't do more for now :(
So, just a first impression :
After heat molding it the pain in the ankle completly disapeared, like it never existed.
I doesn't seems too small now either, I think it will be ok!
      Trinity is so great man!
Normaly with carbon, you feel the road more, and that is something i was afraid of as the roads are really bad here, but the trinity system completly offset the carbon and it feels even better than my FR UFR Intuition (both with 4x100).
The power transfert is insane too, I feel that all the force I put goes into the wheels, carbon+trinity is magical on that point.
I was surprise but little jumps feel great too. I was a little afraid because it seems like there is very little padding but it's ok.
ANd the skate feels like an extension of my feet, not big gear on it. I feel the weight of the frame and wheels lol, like it's 2 seperate things (They weight as much as the Tau).
All in al, it feels really great, I am charmed. Less support than my UFR intuition (it's waaaaay lower), especially in the front but it's ok, the support on the side is good enough.
The combat frame tough... I don't like it. Too much of a pain to assemble, I have to rotate my wheels a lot, too annoying and long to do it regularly on this frame.
They should have gone the same way than the off brand ones, simplier, because I don't really see the point of the fine tuning setting for long frames. For the 80, maybe, you can choose flat, wizard, slalom, but for the others? I will sent it back and take an endless 100 instead.
I need more testing, but with little breaking, it should be perfect!
And I love the fact that they are not all black, they look so great. (i'm sure they will be even faster with red laces :p)

@@nikoblading Hi, did you heat mould the TAU or did the skate just adapt to the foot over time?

Did you Heat Mold each skate to your foot and then do the comparison or did you just use them out of the box? It's all meaningless unless you heat molder what should be heat molded!

Good question. I used my kitchen scales to measure them: EVO is 842g, TAU is 822g
