    Combining two amp sims really feels like the way to go, can really find two tones that beautifully compliment each other and also sound unique.

      Just did a track where I blended the 5150 Blockletter in Archetype Nolly with the Diezel Herbert in Lasse Lammert Tonality and it's ridiculously awesome 👌

      I’m using the simplifier DLX in parallel mode, so it’s turning one input into two outputs. Sounds absolutely huge

      Wasn't there a whole thing awhile back where Deizel and other boutique brands were gonna make it so you couldn't profile them because people kept doing this and their sales were tanking? I swear I remember that

    When Erra Self Titled came out, it blow me up how wide, rich and layered it sounds. It felt like the music was in 3D, it was incredible. I've never been more amazed by a mix, even tho I already liked their mixing on LMTF album for exemple.

    • @ZepyhrLight
      @ZepyhrLight 2 роки тому +2

      It sounds so pleasing to the ear, its a really really nice mix NODE by Northlane ofc that mix reminds me of Erra Self Titled, lets not forget Jinjers mixes, that sound so damn natural and raw. But yeh i hear you on the 3Dness of Self Titled Erra, it envelops you into itself. I highly recommend jamming it on tidal or something that doesnt compress the sound

    • @str1897

      @@ZepyhrLight I agree, I am less into natural and raw mixing (I still like Lance Prenc mixes or last Whitechapel album in that tone) but I'm love highly processed mixes (I guess this is because I grew up with Joey Sturgis mixes) so that Erra mix is absolutely gorgeous to me

  • @driftthekaliyuga7502
    @driftthekaliyuga7502 9 місяців тому +1

    I honestly believe the proliferation of amp sims with these types of bands is not that they just sound good in a mix. It's the fact that they can edit the shit of the DI guitar track to line up every note. To my ears that's what they all end up sounding like. Edited to death and over processed.

    This guitar tone sounds like absolute crap........ until its in with the entire mix.
    This is the issue with most bedroom producers, they try to emulate what they THINK they hear from their favorite bands song, and their tone soloed sounds thick and full and perfect, but then it gets totally lost in the mix. This just shows that you can have a crunchy saturated bright almost thin sounding guitar, and then have a reallt full mix as a result. Its all about the low end of the kick and bass with the high end of the clanky bass amp, rooms and cymbals.

    • @tusharjamwal
      @tusharjamwal 2 роки тому +8

      but is that really what bedroom producers do? the mixes people are doing at home are pretty sick these days

    • @voyantcreative
      @voyantcreative 2 роки тому +1

      @@tusharjamwal no doubt many are solid. But many are lifeless muddy mixes where you can't hear or feel the low of the bass guitar, just the clangy upper mids cus Dingwall/Nolly is life, and the guitars are often beefy in the wrong way and wayyyy too loud in the mix. Thats my observation. One of the lost arts of the bedroom producer is the understanding that sending out tracks to be mixed is worth it. Too many kids mixing on laptops in their untreated corner of a room with massive speakers they dont need, and no real understanding of mixing. Very hit or miss.

    • @voyantcreative
      @voyantcreative 2 роки тому +4

      @@TheCatalystOS whos gatekeeping? Im literally a bedroom producer. The point isnt not to do it... it point is people in the pasy 7-8 years were thrusted into DIY production with zero real experience in studios, while being bombarded by youtubers with just as little experience, trying to get clicks for giving out bad advice and "eq cheat sheets" which has caused a large amount of these kids to just straight up no understand how production and mixing works on a fundamental level. The only gatekeeper is youtubers pretending to be masters of a craft they have never actually done professionally, teaching kids bad habits that result in bad recordings sometimes.
