Rig rundowns need to dive deep into the signal chains and setting of digital modelers as it’s equivalent to analog chains you would normally see in a rundown !!!
I play Quad Cortex, but as a fan in the crowd it’s the worst experience w/o cabs on stage especially if you’re sitting in the front all you get is drums. If you wanna go to the show and sit by the sound guy or the very back it sounds great

The lag happened because kemper was switching entire presets (due to delay fx bpm syncing and stuff) while the quad is probably using your 'scenes' or whatever you call it which seems seamless. Kemper had a recent update where you should be able to set it up for lag-less switching.. But since I had the stage version a couple years back I could really tell there's not much to explore FX wise. Also - with the QC you can create great copies of your pedals, not just amps. So well worth it i guess.
I thought titans were much tighter than they are hot, so I wonder if his set wasn't defective or installed incorrectly. Fantastic run down tho thanks so much for this! God damn that XL is too beautiful...
The old Toshiba laptop part was so relatable. I feel akin to Jessie. I love to just write. I use my phone to capture most of my ideas, and I just let the pros mix/master my shit. 🤣

All their tones come from other artists packs who make similar music. Lol. Thats why so many bands start to sound the same these days. All using the exact same plugins for their tones. Misha, plini, etc. same with drum packs.
I use GP5 to program all my drums and synth parts (and to tab the guitar and bass parts for my band mates), then I bounce it to MIDI and create the sounds in my DAW.
Well, the whole digital thing is cool. What happens when that completely shits the bed or your laptop not working that day. And become so reliant on computers to do their switching and having click tracks in their ears and all that if you took all that away, they wouldn’t know what to do.
That happened with Periphery on one of their first big tours...with Dream Theatre I believe. The answer is power redundancy, backup laptops and hard drives. At the time Periphery only had just the one laptop and it almost ruined their shot when it shit the bed.

Tf? Northlane hasn't be remotely listenable since 2014. They haven't even been metalcore for a decade, they're some awful electronic dubstep track looping garbage ever since Adrian left. Why would any respectable band want to copy the trash that Northlane's put out?
It's a shame that these kids that grew up with digital modeler/profilers don't even care about the quality of hearing themselves on stage and think everything should be "on the beat". Maybe if you only want robotic music!
They are totally oblivious to how insane that sounds. I honestly feel bad for them sometimes. I get this style of music is almost meant to be “robotic” but still.
There's a place for every different style of music. There's nothing superior or inferior about Erra compared to, say, a classic rock band that just "feels the beat" and plays with 120dB of stage volume. Some people don't mind being deaf by the end of their set, and others play songs that are intricate enough to need everyone perfectly synced up to pull it off. I guarantee these guys have done it both ways, and the setup they've landed on is what's optimal for them.
Lots of guitarists will call the running whatever displays on their tuner lol. Nothing wrong (in practice) with saying Drop G#, and for a lot of guitarists it keeps other guitarists from being confused since not everyone knows what a flat is lol
@@JordanfromOhio - They sound the same. In between G and A, but function differently. I would label it in flats since it’s tuned down from standard. Labelling it sharps would be placing a capo somewhere and going up. Technically.
@Burnt_Gerbil lol you're a total idiot, it's the same tuning. Nowhere does labeling a note as a sharp insinuate it's tuned up. We number the octaves already for this reason dummy. If it was tuned up it could be labeled g sharp (3) pr g sharp (4) and still be correct. In guitar we usually go by sharps to keep things simple because that's what all the tuners use is sharps not flats.

Just saw ERRA in Denver with Make Them Suffer and Novelists. That show slapped. I had a great time and the bands were on point all night.

Heavy tones are becoming homogenized. There's so much gain that everything sounds the same. I would love to hear these guys with 25 or 30% less gain.
Idk if your ears are bad or if you're some sort of amateur, but their tone doesn't have that much gain.
