Agreed. ABC handled the situation terribly. Roseanne didn't deserve ANY OF THAT. She deserved punishment YES, but not in the way they gave it to her. I watched this series out of curiosity, and while not terrible it still leaves a bad taste in my mouth. The cast sans Goodman are a bunch of cowards! Seriously lame. Especially Gilbert. Who I can't help but feel wanted this to happen.

Yeah some of this acting has got to be therapeutic in a way..like she really did die..i mean they were kids....it was still a loss..some real.pain there & to think none of them had Roseanne's back, all those years..even if she was in the wrong..u said it "cowards"..1st time they did...guess money is more important than one's colleaugue of years..

This scene highlights what losing a close sibling, who is also a CONSTANTLY PRESENT FRIEND and SUPPORT SYSTEM, is like...EXACTLY. EXACTLY.
It's an an indescribable agony that never, ever goes away.

Laurie Metcalf absolutely owns every scene she is in. She and John Goodman are the backbone of this show. I had a similar reaction to a scene where Dan accidently called Louise "Rosie". It was shocking and sad and real. When I first started watching "The Conners" I wasn't sure if it was supposed to be a comedy because the subject matter has been pretty heavy most of the time, but I'm getting to appreciate the depth of acting necessary to play these parts in this new approach. It's growing on me, and Laurie is awesome, as always.

Dan handled every second of that masterfully. Didn't escalate her mood, presented every option as a suggestion, actually talked to her...knowing his previous bursts, he's learned what it's like to be in that trance and unhindered lucidity. He knows that she's trying to be proactive while also being honest with herself...she's just taken on too much to keep it in anymore.

Laurie is awesome in this scene and it shows how much she misses Roseanne as we all do! I think she really felt the emptiness of missing Roseanne who was the whole show in the first place. The Connors is a far cry from the original series of Roseanne. Every time I watch the Connors, I feel an emptiness and that emptiness is Roseanne. All the actors on the show seem to need some kind of direction. There is no continuity in the scripts. They have so many other actors coming in, but they neglect the main cast. This never happened on Roseanne!

I hope you never experience that. Unfortunately I, do, know how it feels. You feel lost. You feel as though your world/life will never again feel right. Birthdays and holidays are the hardest. There’s always that empty place at the table. Those funny screen shots and memes you used to always share with each other have come to an end. If something good happens to you, even though you want, so much, to share it with her, you know you can’t.

      Absolutely.
I also know this feeling. It's indescribable, and eternal.
I lost my big brother/best friend to a hit-and-run in October of 2019, just two weeks after he turned 41 years old, and two days before my 40th birthday. It was a tragic, horrible, lonely, ugly death.
Not a day goes by that it doesn't stab at me. Often, almost two years later, I am reduced to grotesque agony and sorrow. Uncontrollable grief.
And when I think about how Mama feels, my nephew, my brother's only son, my sister and brothers...it's very nearly unbearable.
      NOTHING is EVER the same.
      EVER.
I'm so, so very sorry you've been forced to feel this way.

It's the worst feeling ever. There is no other feeling in the world that feels like this.
I lost my only sister, my only sibling, to suicide August, 9th of 2017. She had just turned 25.
We were soulmates in a sibling form. We knew when something was wrong with one another and we knew when we did something wrong to each other.
It's a feeling like no other. It's heavier than grief or loneliness. Of course those things are included, but it cuts hard and it never eases up.
I love my parents so much, but I do not think I will ever feel this type of heartbreak by losing anyone else.
Sibling death, especially if you're close siblings. . . there's no name for it. I hope that you and your sister live a long and good life. Love one another hard.

@@babygirl9397 I don't think so, and I'm saying this having watched season three relative to when you posted your comment. I think, being an entrepreneur, Leon sold his share of The Lunch Box, and he and Scott moved far away from Lanford soon after the original finale.

I also know this feeling. It's indescribable, and eternal.
I lost my big brother/best friend to a hit-and-run in October of 2019, just two weeks after he turned 41 years old, and two weeks before my 40th birthday.
      God knows, I am.

The scene with her dying didn't even make me cry this scene here did. This is where it hits home Jackie realized Rosie is never coming back she's gone. Not gonna work another job with her or come back with her to the lunch box again or give her any more advice or feel goods or bads ever again she's never gonna finish her questions ever again and that scared Jackie shitless. Heartbreaking scene honestly. Really should've gotten her Emmy nominated.

I think it's great that they showed sadness for Roseanne not being there. The Lunch Box was hers & in real life, they took Roseanne's show away from her. Are they apologizing for that? They can never pay Roseanne back in real life. I know there are really bad feelings between Sara & Roseanne, but I'm hoping Roseanne & Laurie are okay. IDK. The whole thing is sad. 😢
