Ford is one of these companies that don't need an aftermarket exhaust system :)

And kiss goodbye to your warranty if the car suffers any engine problem, even if it's nothing to do with the exhaust, Ford will be able to say the car was modified, warranty voided, and you won't have a leg to stand on

    • @MilltekSport
      @MilltekSport  4 роки тому +2

@@mad4tar77 we always recommend checking with the dealer if you would like to install one of our cat-backs/GPF-backs. These systems will have absolutely no affect on the engine. Warranty is only applied to the parts in question. All we ask customers to do is check with their dealers for approval and most of the time our customers are ok with a GPF-back or cat-back system from us.
Just to confirm this is not Milltek Sport saying it won't void warranty, our customers must check with their warranty provider.

I’d never have a Non res exhaust again 🙄 Too noisey, Too much Drone , anybody sitting in the back started moaning about the noise when I stepped on the pedal. It just became like,? too Chavy for my liking . Not only that I’m certain it took some of my low end grunt away I had to rev the car to get the power Which was not what I wanted from my ST and of course the power being mid to high rpm the Noise was Diabolical. It was fun at first but it soon became a Nuisance and an irritation for me . Gone back to Stock Twin Square on my mk3 F/L im happy I can drive around without the flaming racket . And it does feel more responsive at Lower Rpm but slightly chocked at higher end .
I guess you can’t have it both ways .

Really useful comment and thanks for sharing your experience. Am looking at buying an ST in the next few months and was considering the value and benefit of an after market exhaust and you’ve hit the nail on the head with your comment in terms of performance and sound / image from your experience. Can see how they would still appeal to many but for someone who appreciates the more subtle non shouted out performance of the current ST I think I will be sticking with the OEM part. Many thanks my friend, most useful, ATB Paul.

I’m not a 20 year sporty teen anymore , Yes.
I loved the look of the big tail trims,. But I ended up having to thrash the crap out of the car , I don’t always to be at the top end of the Rev range for my peak torque. That’s not what I want from a turbo car. I wanted to be able to make swift progress without Stirring the gear-lever . I have mine totally stock all but a Bluefin remap. Again it’s a bit of a Bastard in first gear because you’ll just light up the tyres , but 3rd gear 30mph it’ll pull in third right upto about 85 strong , and toasts most people and the torque on the motorways hahaha makes overtaking a breeze. And inside you can the grumble through the speakers but no silly noise to the point where you want to put a bag over your head .

@@cyclemartin4073 Thanks mate, sounds spot on that and just what I'm looking for by the sound of it. Remember the old Cosworths, XR3s etc as a kid but obviously could never afford them back in the day and many of them were sadly burnt out! Know where you are coming from with it being a great performer without shouting it out too much and that's what appeals. How did your remap compare to the standard if you don't mind me asking? All the best< Paul

The Mk3 Xr3i , was fantastic, I once had an Orion 16i ghia , I traded in for an K reg Orion 1.8i Lxi both 115 bhp .
I tell you the old Orion knock the spots off of the newer one., I stacked that hardcore 😎.
Tried a couple of Vauxhall’s and BMW, went back to Ford in 2004 with 53 (6spd) ST220, loved it !!
      57 ST focus . 225 .
2013 yellow ST focus which I remapped same superchip , and had the Scorpion cat back non resonated . My bro in law had a Astra 1.6 cdti
Which I could have easily.. After putting the Exhaust on I couldn’t get nowhere near him on low rpm pick ups ,. So I remoapoed it Made it about as good as Stock in lower Rev range but pulled like Mo FO TOWARDS the Last knockings of the rev counter . By which time the Noise was Biblical . I stopped driving hard just so it make no noise.
      Moving on to point .
In the Facelift mk3 focus ST the cockpit fells roomier around the knees , the flat bottom steering wheel feel 10x Nicer .
The bigger Sync 3 touch. SGreen is brill with Apple play.
Waze on the screen is awesome satnav.
The Superchips remap on my facelift is brilliant
You’ll like it trust me 💯%
The bluefin remap is rather simple, there’s the OBD under the light dial , pull out the coin tray or what ever it is, reveals the OBD, Read your ECU with the bluefin device just follow the instructions on the device it’s rather simple ,
Once yiu done that upload that to superchips website . They’ll have a fiddle with your map , and send it to you , which you download to the bluefin device . Then you simply take the device plug it into your OBD follow the instructions on the device it uploads the remap.
DONT PANIC DURING THE UPLOAD !!!!!
you’ll get warning signs and chimes , may be even your windscreen wipers might go berserk.
      Ignore all that .
Once it’s done simply unplug turn your ignition off, and on again your map is installed but you’ll probably have to set the time and date on your clock again , after that . Enjoy 😍😍🥰😎
Later on , if you ever need a clutch have the RS clutch plate installed . 👌 don’t waste your money on Collins performance intercoolers air box and that shit , just get a bluefin and call it a day . You’ll be content believe me .
Sorry to go on . But I’m having a drink .

@@cyclemartin4073 many thanks for the detailed reply interesting history of some very nice motors. Incredible to think of how quick the early ones were at the time when by today’s standards they were pretty low powered but at the time they were rather rapid! Cheers for the detailed description re the mapping too. Will see how I get on with the standard set up I think for a while so as to appreciate fully the difference!
I had a couple of escort 1.3s first a pop and the the sheer luxury of the LX! Insurance wouldn’t permit anything quicker at the time but always had a lot of respect for the relative affordability, handling and tough as old boots reliability of fords and looking forward to getting a quicker one after a very practical fiesta and a merc clk 230K. The merc was great at the time but after a few years the body work started going and the big bills started increasing. Got a bit fed up with the costs involved after a while so got rid and got a sensible and newer fiesta for a few years which is nothing quick but has never let me down and handles great if you are happy to use the revs on a twisty road. Obviously nothing in comparison to the latest generation of hot hatches! All the best and thanks again 🍺🍺
