very lucky grinders are great but they must be stopped before putting them down made that mistake myself twice and did one injury like yours and the second time hospital visit with nasty scar on leg it came of the bench with 2mm cutting disc.
Alaina, I always knew you were a lovely lady, BUT I never guessed that you could purr too 😻😻 I see that the pattern was feeling left out so it got a band-aid too!! And then a cast!! 💥❤🩹 I ask you this every time, so I have to ask you again "How often do you have your nails done?" They look so perfect in the video. Hey, have you been doing weightlifting 🏋♀🏋♀your shoulders are buff dude 💪!! I love watching you work on these propellers. One of the true generational Craftsmen(women) left. You do such beautiful work. Oh Lord, how I wish you would use a scrap stick to push the waste from the bandsaw away from the blade!!! I get so nervous watching you reach behind a running blade with your arm. My dear, you look best with both arms and hands attached. Much kindness and happy thoughts from Old Man Minnesota, where the men are all handsome, the kids are all above average, and the woman wear snowmobile suits and helmets -- so spring is a wonderful surprise to all of us adolescent adult men !!!
I do my own nails about once a week, maybe 2 weeks. I do workout and lift. 😁 I like both my arms also. Lol. We are starting to get signs of spring here too. 😁
Lol he only wants attention at the most inconvenient times. During my workouts, when I’m trying to do my voiceovers. It is my husbands cat and I swear my husband tells him to annoy me 🤣😂
Props are so cool... Very rewarding I bet.. but then the stress of being so cautious too.. Yin and yang.. Hahaha you do amazing work.. I would love to try this.. Make a ceiling fan or something. Thanks for the videos I know it's hard work. Peace and love luv Rolfie
You scare the crap out of me putting your arm around behind that band saw blade. But I love to see what you are doing. it's so cool how props are made.
I had to do a little smile when you said about the oops with the grinder. Anyone who has used grinders or routers had done that to a greater or lesser degree. Glad it was only superficial. You don't look a goofball sanding, that is just how it is. Love watching these vids. If you don't have a few doubts when doing work like this then you are not doing the process justice. You care and that is what matters.
Do you think you might be able to share footage of the prop running on the engine when it is done? I'd love to see that. The Iowa Aviation Museum in Greenfield, IA has a Le Rhône engine (and prop) on display. For anyone who is not familiar, the engine spins with the prop. There is a wikipedia article that can give you the details.
Not really sure how practical or how well it would work but Milwaukee does make a small handheld bandsaw. I find my quite useful and handy for cutting pipe. You would just need some small wood blades made which is easy enough
Great to see this handmade reproduction coming together. We all should try to learn something new with everything we do, in this case making a round hub. Great job Alaina!!!!
OUCH! I am sorry that the grinder got too personal with your knee but it could have been much worse. When you started the story, I was afraid the grinder got a finger badly or it damaged the prop and you needed to start over. As it was, your knee quickly healed but the prop would not have. As with all mishaps, we need to sit back and ask ourselves, "What did I learn from this?" The lathe work is highly controlled, yet mesmerizing but the hand-eye coordination needed for the freehand bandsaw and drum sander work while holding that heavy puppy is mind blowing. It is going to be one beautiful piece of art. Stay safe, Sandy!
A friend of mine in the const business and is like me 65 plus we still say gonkulating instead of calculating and after all this time it still makes both of us laugh because it’s become a habit.
Glad to see you are human and not a robot!
Lol, yes, very human. 😁
It's looking good.
great job! 👏👍

Yes! And I like the way it looks now that I have done it. 😁
Awesome video, the lathe is impressive! but not as much as the hand work, your shaping of the center is real! thanks for sharing!
Thank you. 😊

Thank you. Yes a learning experience
Do you have a favorite bandsaw blade? I'd be curious which brand you find successful? Seems it's always hard to find one I like.
I use the Grizzly G5252
@@CulverProps thanks. I'll check them out 😉👍
Random cat 🐈 purring ❤️
Lol, yep. I have several rescues, and they are all very happy lol
It adds character but you don't really need it 👍
