Das ist echt nichts neues :D ist nen schönes DIY Projekt fürs Kopieren aber mehr auch nicht.
Kopierfräsen kann man fertig kaufen und das eben seit Jahren.^^

1. fräst du die Propeller aus Konstruktionsvollholz? Wäre es nicht sonnvoller, faserversetztes Verbundleimholz zu verwenden?
2. hast du dir auch die entsprechenden Vervielfältigungslizenzen der ursprünglichen Designer der jeweiligen Propeller eingeholt?

Isen't this (roughly) the way they made Rifle stocks as well in the past ?
Before numerical control took over this technique of either directly copying from dummies or from calculated curves was quite common (and sometimes still is in use today) to manufacture anything with complex shape.
They still use a similar technique to project curves from paper cutouts on to a wood blank. It's falling out of favor to CNC, but it's still a good solution for parts that are too big to use CNC economically. Cruise ship propellers are done this way...paper to wood, and then sand mold from that, and then cast metal. They'll use CNC to finish the cast, but old school is still the starting point for big projects.

A router on your duplicator with a 20 mm diameter ball ended cutter would give better results. I used one on my jig in my wood lathe and find I get a better finish and almost no tear out.

Abgesehen davon das du da was sehr gutes gebaut hast solltest du in Zukunft deine Kabeltrommel komplett ausrollen. Wer eine Kopiermachine bauen kann wird auch wissen warum. Eine Thermosicherung verhindert größere Schäden aber wie oft willst du die wechseln 😉

Hi Daniel, frag den Viktor einfach, seine E-Mailadresse ist ja in der Videobeschreibung.
Ok... die Frage ist 2 Jahre alt, aber dennoch: Die Dinger gibts fertig und die heissen "Kopierfräse" - i.d.R. wird ein Urmodell hydraulisch/mechanisch/elektromechnisch auf mehrere Rohlinge übertragen (oft 2, 4 oder mehr) Dazu ist es sinnvoll, mit einer "Reduktion" zu arbeiten, d.h. X und Y Dimension des Urmodells mit einem Zuschlagsfaktor 1,x zu skalieren. Die Maschine "kennt" die Skalierung (via Durchmesser des Abtastrades) - so wird das Fertigteil genauer/detailreicher, bzw. der unvermeidliche Verschleiss durch das Abtasten fällt geringer aus. Bei der Umsetzung hier wäre ein grosser Scheibenfräser ähnlich einer "Kehlscheibe" (zB Arbortech Woodcarver disc) sinnvoll - dann muss man weniger schleifen und vermindert damit das Risiko von Unwuchten. Das geniale an der Variante von Viktor ist aber die "fliegende" Lagerung des Rohlings auf einer Seite - das halbiert die Größe der Vorrichtung...

old good style, but today cnc can made lot better guality props. 4 axis machine, easy build cnc whit stepper motor, free mach3 software and cad/cam software make profile 3D pictures
This is a really cool idea! Most copy carvers I've seen use cutters and burrs but using a saw is smart.

Why not make it with a router instead of a saw... just because your routing instead of sawing :)
because then your tracer has to be as small as the routerbit which will cause huge problems due to the steep angle.
if you look closely, you will see, that there are almost vertical angles to overcome
IMO it needs a motor with a bit more power but with a pro like him using it it don't matter
@@TechTomVideo totally agree. It has to be a thing profile cut to achieve a fine shape to sand. So it has to be a disk saw, because a router bit that thin could not keep up with the feed rate.
Of course it is up to you @@TechTomVideo but in my opinion the beauty of usinf a router bit is you could be much quicker... And indeed you coud do two runs, first wit a bigger tracer and bit, and then with a smaller tracer and bit.... I think the original one will be made using a similar product... But well.. We do not have to agree of course...

Die Vortriebgewindestange ist zu groß / grob, mit einem feinerem Gewinde hättest du keine Abstufungen in der Copy. Aber wirklich gute Idee deine Maschiene.
