- The plaintiff says the defendant is his sister-in-law. He claims she owes him for household items he left in an apartment and she won’t pay him back, so he’s suing. The defendant says she paid him for some of the items but told him to come pick up a bed she didn’t want, and now he expects her to pay for it.

So you have a bed frame, a box spring and a mattress sitting against a wall in your small apartment for 2.5 years, and every time the people who it belongs to try to get a hold of you, you refuse to talk to them. That makes zero sense. I would want that stuff out of my house.

I disagree. It's the best way to test your family:) If a family member is willing to steal from you then what's the point keep having a relationship with somebody who doesn't care about you? There is a difference loaning money to a family member and that family member not being able to pay you back and feeling sorry about that. That witch tried to steal his money, she doesn't feel sorry about it and tried to call him a liar. So yep, money is a good way to remove from your life garbage even if you share the same blood.

The defendant claims she told them to come and get the metal bed frame, box spring and mattress and yet refuses all contact with them, then at the end says she couldn't afford $800 yet supposedly went out and bought her own bed frame, box spring and mattress, for presumably less. What a nasty, ungrateful woman. And at the end explains how she folded the bed frame yet if it was a folded bed then there wouldn't be a box spring and the mattress wouldn't be propped up with it all it would have been folded into the folded bed, so she is still lying...

The judge said the paper the defendant gave did her no favours but the plaintiff didn't get it and said no it wasn't his hand writing like the judge said if he's said yes he would have won.

The defendant was not firm in refusing the bed: she did not respond to the plaintiff to take the bed, because she didn’t want it. 2.5 years later, now he’s suing because of her approval of keeping the bed.
For the defendant , if she was truthful, she could just have told the plaintiff to come and take his bed .

I never loan money with the expectation of getting it back! If I get paid back, yay! If not we are still friends or family! Sad to see how money controls people. It’s not more important than family or friends.
My grandpa always told me "neither a borrower or lender be." So I don't lend money, I give money. And if I absolutely HAVE to borrow, it is my first priority to pay it back.
My husband and I also agreed to never argue over money in our marriage. 10 year married, 15 altogether, and still have never fought over money.

Sounds like she wanted the bed but regretted agreeing to the value afterwards. If he would have said half the value, she would have agreed to pay that, I bet... either way, she's a liar, and she took advantage of their generosity.
She gets to keep the bed and the show pays for it. She didn't lose anything.
However she will have a judgment against her through binding arbitration. And that can look bad if she’s seeking any type of bank loan or credit and also some employment . So there is still a reason to try and beat the case on this show , as one would not like to soil their record .

Would you sue your sister-in-law if you gave her a loan and she wouldn't repay it? Ha ha, trick question, because I wouldn't lend my sister-in-law any money. I'd tell her to get the money from her husband, my good for nothing brother and if he hasn't got it, it's THEIR problem, not MY problem. Easy peasy.

I bought a car from my sister's daughter for
5 thousand cash. I never thought about getting a bill of sale. My sister and I had a big disagreement . And her daughter said I came to pick up my car . I told her I bought it and it wasn't hers anymore. She said you don't have paper to prove it. And I still have all the papers. I told her I wouldn't give it back. She said her family would say I stole the car. I gave her the keys back . I never received my 5 000 back. So I just stopped all ties of having anything to do with them again.

Is the judge an idiot? You can absolutely fold up iron bed frames. Believe it or not they make those, I've had one in the past. Just because you're a judge doesn't mean you know everything.
Bet anything the plaintiff wrote out the second list entered and the first one was written out by her. They are both just stuck on deny mode. Also the plaintiff moved out because he probably had to deal with either his wife and sister bitching at him or the two going at each other with him in the middle, neither of them are being honest.

There’s nothing wrong with suing family especially the scammers. Everyone has one. Either way it’s a loss. Either the relationship is lost or the money. Her own sister doesn’t talk to her. Why not get your money back? Who wants thieving relatives in their life?
