Even though it might protect you from an unscrupulous Dr who due to the patient being lay down with legs in stirrups and a paper sheet covering their legs, means they often don't even know they've been assaulted by Dr, so I'll take feeling weird over a chaperone that is always a female, over the risk of being assaulted any day, you come across as one of those "it'll never happen to me" and that it's always OK till it does happens to you. I know many physicians who never get accused of anything because female nurses are always present during an examination. It protects both parties and a nurse female should always be present. 😑 If he truly wanted to protect his patients, he would have a female assistant or nurse by his side. It is his fault. This should be mandatory by law. It is wrong to be alone with female patients.

I have been a Medical chaperon. I would like to point out that Doctors do not listen to or pay any attention to anyone that they regard as lesser professional. I began refusing to chaperone when I realized I was only a witness with no ability to prevent any behavior that the person being chaperoned chose to practice. This entire situation is a pretense that some behavior is being monitored when nothing is being gone at all.

What I’m trying to understand is how the host is asking the guest about potential defenses when all he knows is the general allegations of what the doctor is alleged to have done. People must really think lawyers are some type of magical to think they are able to know what defenses could be raised when they have nothing fact specific to go on. I applaud the guest for trying because I would not have tried. That’s probably why I would never be on one of these shows.
