+markyncole actually Matt Groenings ... and Tim Allen , John Belushi , Bruce willis , ..
What other three epsiodes?
On Lolapalooza Episode , On the episode when otto is listening to a Grand Funk tape , and the episode when Homer gives the WHO a list of Grand Funk songs .
Quais são os episódios em que eles mencionam?
"The stage was set for the Alan Parsons Project which i believe was some sort of hovercraft" being a fan pf Alan Parsons that always made my day!
I bet!
Grand Funk Railroad is awesome! Mr Limousine is my jam!
You've got good taste in old school music homer 👍👍👍👍👍
Yeeeahhh, its sad that this happens. But they'll grow up trying to show their kids the music they grew up with, and it'll be the same thing repeated over and over. That's why my parents played oldies ever since I was a baby. I grew up with shit that was way before my time, and during my time.
It happens, it's probably why I had a fascination with my parents' music of the 50's and 60's because of what I had to hear in the car every morning before school.
As someone who’s born In 98 60-80s music Is all I listen to Grand Funk being a favorite of mine.
Plus Peter Frampton a "Dinosaur" was playing at the "Cool" festival in this episode along with Sonic Youth, who raided his cooler. So yeah this one left me scratching my head.
I'm only in my early 20s, yet I am literally Homer in this scene.
Me too
Honestly, this is one of the few scenes where Homer should have strangled Bart.
Homer: Why you LITTLE! "strangles Bart" I'll show you to disrespect the classics!
Bart: AAGHHH! AAGGH!
The last gag of this video perfectly encompass the music transition from the 80's (Good Vibrations) to the 90's (suicide Notes).
I love it when Lisa’s eyes follow Bart’s swerve hand when he says “par-tay”
Wow, nice fade out on the Suicide Notes storefront. Made this video 1000x darker 😆
I feel bad for Homer. Since I was a kid I always loved his taste in music, while my schoolmates heard the 2000s modern day stuff (guess I have that from my parents)
Now that 2000s stuff would be considered ‘dinosaur music’ lol
LOL, I thought I saw Homer in the audience in 1971 when I saw Grand Funk Railroad in Hyde Park, London. There was a huge crowd of about 250,000 people. The opening acts were Heads, Hands, and Feet with Albert Lee, and Humble Pie featuring Peter Frampton and Steve Marriot. Grand Funk were big-time then! I'm with Homer. They were 100 times better than the garbage Rap Crap kids listen to today!!
One thing I learned from parents is that they had better choices about songs and bands than me. No one can beat the 1970s era.
We kinda can be cause there are *still* people making that kind of music today *and* most of what was worth a crap back then survived while most of the trash was forgotten.
Welcome to what is known as "survivorship bias"
This is how I feel about all radio stations they have forgotten all about these classic artists from history.
A lot of this music is being abandoned to SiriusXM these days.
@@ChristopherSobieniak yeah it’s the same here in the UK. Only way to find it is find an indi station.
Not in the country I live in, there are atleast 3 mainstream classic stations.
@@ranchius damn your lucky
@@filmreviewer117 True. I guess America has to suffer for the rest. We provided the classics, now we're at our retirement stage.
"The competent drum work of Don Brewer."
I loved it when Homer handed a list of Grand Funk Railroad songs to John Entwistle when The Who came to Springfield
Yes , Homer telling the Who to play Grand Funk .
@@47tooter After seeing Grand Funk Railroad did to Zeppelin I don't think The Who wanted to do anything with Grand Funk.
First of all Mississippi queen is a straight banger these kids are tripping. The alternative grunge guys loved classic rock. Kim thayil from soundgarden said a lot of his inspiration comes from the zeppelin stuff. Lol
"KFSL fossil 103"...l miss all the clever little details they used to throw in
Respect the Classics, Man. GFR is the Best Band in Rock History.
jasminne mcdonald You got that right!!!
I saw Grand Funk, the original trio 9x between 1969 and 1971 every opportunity I got and they never disappointed us never! I went to see Zeppelin and they were all so doped up and shitfaced I couldn’t believe that BS!
This song was such a mystery to me as a kid when I saw this episode but I looked for this song for years and rewatching this episode helped me discover the greatness of Grand Funk Railroad-Shinin On
Grand funk railroad the band from Michigan amazing band
I had that same conversation with my dad as a kid when he was blasting 60s Motown
Mine was oldies country. Now I love country music.
And yes I have gotten old 😞
But I have turned into my father (r.i.p.) which is a good thing 😊
