Hey bro ....I was watching your stuff a while back and you mentioned that the engine code on the vr6 was a good indicator that you had the forged bottom end ....I can't find the clip lol ....wat was the code to identify this again please ??
@@TRHamza thank you mate I'll check it out as I have a 3.6 Passat highline ..... Just wanted to know if it was the one with forged bottom end ECT .....thanks for your reply brother
This is the reality of fixing cars. Back orders, one thing leads to another and stuff breaking. Makes us all feel better about our own projects!!! Keep the positive attitude!
@@TRHamza Keep this in mind with a ll your hard working : Your cars are getting better & better and because have similar engines and you keep dismantle them, then put all back, then undo again so many times.. you end up perfecting your skills, knowing how is more easy or convenient for you, what works and what not, until you end-up doing & undoing them with your eyes closed in your sleep eventually..
I like the fact that you’ve chosen to do it properly, especially given how good the underside resto work was. I don’t feel you were waffling at all in the middle but, just explaining the process. Look forward to the next one!!
Haven't watched yet as I'm out but already know its going to be a banger of a video and will deffo be watching when home. Looking forward to the update on scirocco!
Such a nice car, timeless design and everything you could need on a family car as well. I’m going to look for one to do over summer, hopefully I find one as cheap as you did! Shame they are so rare.
Bro we never leave… we’re in it until it’s over!! This will help me while I’m making my Passat GT manual AWD, you should sell me that rear haldex from the cc I’m in the states
Like climbing a mountain, it is standing on the top and knowing what it took to get there that makes it all worthwhile. Keep it up. Looking forward to the end result.
I really like how you've kept the stock exhaust and just freshened it up. Keeps it authentic as cars like this don't need a straight pipe to be enjoyed!
Love an R36 video! You're stepping up on a whole nother level bro, restoration, engine swap and the caddy all going on at the same time without any drop in content! 🔥🔥🙌🙌
Keep your chin up bro, your loyal subscribers understand what you’re putting in behind the scenes. Your projects aren’t just stick a down pipe and a map on projects like a lot of channels, you’re going all in on the R36 for example. We appreciate it and the time it’s taking is no issue. I like the attention to detail you’re putting into it, while keeping it as oem as possible 👌🏼 Top work mate.
No need to apologize for explaining things mate, those with short attention spans will simply skip forward no worries, I personally enjoy the whole process because well it’s reality isn’t it.
Really content always enjoy the builds. The talking(explainations) really don't mind them because at the end of it all we have to know and learn. What I do mind is the long delays between the builds. Man is it long. Thumbs up love it all
hey bro, I really like your videos, I hate that most youtubers leave everything for the next part. Keep it up. Really like watching these videos whenever they come out.
Dude, i really appreciate your channel! Also for some reason, being a non-native English speaker, I really like your accent and the sound of your voice.
Love the content bro, I think it’s a good thing that you talk us through it all step by step, don’t be so hard on yourself, you’ve done an amazing job on the Passat so far so only makes sense to pull the engine out and do it all proper, respect to you mate, look forward to the next video😁..only downfall is having to wait so long between videos but that’s understandable👏🏼
Definitely a good idea to check the chains while the engine is out. Timing on mine skipped after the upper chain guide disintegrated on both ends and ended up in the oil pickup
I like the warts n all video. Far better than a parts replacement video.....i like to see the problems the cleaning up etc. That brake fluid leaks a right mystery....is it the master cyl? I bet this video contained weeks of graft.
We getting there finally what a awesome build really good to see this car being restored and looked after, lots of support from South Africa brother 🤝💪👍🔥💥👌
1:07 you should have used some acidic ph product, some automotive detailing product that removes acid rain marks on glass... and then a metal polishing compound with a polishing machine
Man I have a high millage mk7 & I’ve done tons of work to make it feel like new and still something unexpected brakes, but that’s the fun part about it lol
Maybe you can use a few ratchet straps when you put down the engine to the trolley. It will be a bit more secure when you move it around before transferring it to the engine crane. Better be safe than sorry later :)
Thank you, I used to be a mechanic back in the 80s and 90s, Best VW I've owned was a Golf I Orange 1.6 4Speed 4 door In Australia in the mid 90s We could not kill it❤ Ended up trading it Regrets are part of life. Love your content And i don't even drive or have a car anymore, I love bicycles ❤. Anyway keep it real as allways, 👍👀🇨🇭🥸🔧🔩⚙️
Thanks for your interesting videos as usual Hamza! Btw, do you have a video on how to do a coolant change please, using the new G13EVO coolant? Or maybe provide a link to one of your previous videos, where you have shown how to do it? Thanks!
Hey mate, really enjoy the videos! I work in parts for a VW dealer, not in the UK. If there’s any help you may need please sing out, happy to help & look into things!
Great video! I see you're using VCDS on your MacBook. Are you running Windows through Bootcamp or is it on something like Parallels? Any issues with getting VCDS to work on it? Cheers
Scirocco update next!
Hey bro ....I was watching your stuff a while back and you mentioned that the engine code on the vr6 was a good indicator that you had the forged bottom end ....I can't find the clip lol ....wat was the code to identify this again please ??
There’s a few different ones with it but I wanted the BWS, it’s the best of the 3.6 as it’s the R36 engine.
@@TRHamza thank you mate I'll check it out as I have a 3.6 Passat highline ..... Just wanted to know if it was the one with forged bottom end ECT .....thanks for your reply brother
Tapping in from South Africa 🇿🇦 bring us the Scirocco R36 noise bro @TRHamza

Appreciate the feedback mate! 👌🏼
I definitely enjoy 13:31 the longer process of things so don’t be fooled by making short videos. We enjoy learning how things work ❤
Noted!
This is the reality of it and the footage we want to see. Don’t be getting down on yourself, you’re flying at it!
Seems to me that you will only do things the right way or at the very least to the best of your ability, admirable.
No one clicks off your videos, Hamza. It's a tough job, good on you for sticking at it, including all the 'boring' bits!
Loving the Passat build keep up the good work. Looking forward to the next video. 🎉
I admire your perseverance Hamza. This is the reality of working on cars so keep your head up and let’s get this r36 on the road 😎

Loving the content and how thorough you are, couldn’t help but clock the headlights looked like they could use a little restore whilst they’re off 👍
Loving this resto. I appreciate your approach to this project. Thanks for sharing.
Your mechanic skills are very impressive

Quite like the talking videos, don’t apologise for it. It’s interesting to hear a snippet of your thought process. Another excellent video 🤟

Bro I Like your Videos. You got to make more. Filme the entire process.
You know you can remove the whole slam panel and rad pack in one go makes life easier
this is exactly what people need to see, working on cars is this, not matt amstrong...
love it hamza, i got a shadow blue scirocco and this makes me so happy. would you ever take orders to do this swap with a regular r32 engine?
MESAURE THE OUTER DIAMITER OF THE PIPES RIGHT BEFORE THE BACK BOX PLEASE, and can you also do a timing chain guide ? cheers sorry caps
If you are going down the road of full restore try getting a dryice clean of the engine bay..
Brill mate
R36❤❤
Hey mate, really enjoy the videos! I work in parts for a VW dealer, not in the UK. If there’s any help you may need please sing out, happy to help & look into things!
Coming along sir ... 👍
There's a company in South Africa who's took a Tiguan R and fitted a RS3 engine. It looks and sounds 🥰 You should do the same 🤗
I have a MK5 Golf and is has been fitted with a CAXA engine. Should the upstream O2 sensor be 4 or 5/6 wire?
Great video! I see you're using VCDS on your MacBook. Are you running Windows through Bootcamp or is it on something like Parallels? Any issues with getting VCDS to work on it? Cheers
Will we see the 335i again??
Definitely got OCD 😂 looking good tho 👌
