I take my test on Tuesday and I’m just finding this video. So glad to find out it’s just a regular parking test and not a parallel or 3 point. I can do both but just prefer not to. Unfortunately the only time I could go was in the late afternoon and now I’m nervous because that means more traffic. I’ll update in a few days with everything I had to do just in case anything has changed in the last couple months! Wish me luck! **UPDATE** So unfortunately I failed but I have my retest scheduled for next week and I’m hoping that next time I don’t make the same mistakes I did today. Here’s what I had to do as of Nov. 2021: 1.) Had to show where my hazard lights were and where my parking brake was as well as showing that my horn worked and that my blinkers worked and lit up both in the front of the car and the back. She also checked my brake lights. 2.) She told me that the “parking test” was going to be acting like I was picking someone up. So parking along the curb and then reversing from where I was at on the curb. This would have been done at the end I’m assuming but because I failed we didn’t get that far. 3.) We started on the exact route that is shown in the video but where I went wrong is I didn’t understand that the sign by the school zone that says 7:30 - 3:30 was for the u-turn sign and NOT for the school zone. So even though I went 15 through the first half I went 17 on the second half and that was what caused me to fail. It was completely my fault for not understanding that when the signs are out no matter the time you have to adhere to the 15 mph speed limit. 4.) After the school zone we just took right turns until we got back to the MVD so I’m not sure where we would have went after the school zone but once I take my test again I’ll update the full route that I had to take. Regardless of what my mistakes were it was super helpful to watch this video to understand the route and make sure that I wasn’t making mistakes that I probably would have normally made otherwise such as stopping at the incorrect area or not understanding how to approach and deal with a 4 way stop.
@@alanaaviles7139 I did retake it at Phoenix one other time and unfortunately failed that time as well so then I ended up taking my test at the Mesa location and it was so much easier so I ended up passing at that location.
@@mcpla1750 well 25 is the default for a residential or business area. AZ law (ARS 28-701) says residential speed limits are zero tolerance for speed. So never 26 ish, 20 to 25 max. 15 to 20 if there are people/kids around. and 25 is the max in a residential.

As of 2021, there still no three point or parallel. Just passed the test with ease. Keep a eye out for your surroundings & stop signs. Route is the same, just a bit short. They make you reverse 20ft & that’s it. Best of luck to you guys!
For my test I took a right at the 4-way stop instead of going straight. From there I had to reverse a few feet backwards on the curb. I took the test in late March 2021, and there was some construction at the DMV, so not sure if my reverse curb test was because of the situation. Good luck everyone taking the test, it's extremely easy, just don't get nervous and you'll be fine. P.S. Don't take the mistake of taking the test during rush hour like I did.
I failed mine near that school around the 3:30 mark there was 15 mph signs out and my instructor failed me right after I sped up a little after the last sign. And I only sped up to about 17 mph. I didn't know you had to continue going 15 even after the sign? But, oh well. She made me turn right at that stop sign and drive back to the mvd. I thought it was the not hitting cones part of the test I had to worry about, apparently they do that part at the last step of the test.
Update: 4-16-2019. The DMV returned my email and at this time they are NOT doing 3 point turns at this location. I don't know why, or if they will start again.
Thank you so much! I need this so badly! I was going to take my arizona driver's test, but I have a question! The woman who was going to take the test with me made me leave because my car did not have air conditioning and while both passenger and driver side windows worked the passenger side was just a tad slower than normal newer car windows. The woman continued to make me roll it up and down about 4 times in a row until it finally stopped and wouldn't work becuase she kept making me mess with it. Then she told me "I won't ride in a broken car." now I didn't want to argue with her so I left. But I just felt she was being extremely unreasonable looking back on it.
You are NOT required to have air conditioning or power windows. You only have to have a horn, speedometer, blinkers, headlights and taillights, and at least one mirror on the outside of the car, to do a road test. You should complain that someone is treating customers like that. DMV employees have a reputation for being rude but that person is just unprofessional. It would help if you had dashcam footage or audio of that. My first car was $300 and had no AC also. I remember those days!
I just took this test and it’s super easy! I think they’ve changed the route, but it’s not that much different. Also, there’s no parallel parking, or 3 point turn. You just park normally, and then they tell you if you passed or not. (:

In the 2 areas that have the “school crossing” signs ..what is the speed limit? There is no posted 15mph sign. Wondering if I should be going 15 or 25??
You are only required to go a different speed in a school zone *if* they have a posted sign that says a different speed. School zones are also zero tolerance. (1mph over is automatic fails/ticket) If it's summer it's just 25. If it's a school day, and there's a sign and kids walking around and a crossing guard it's 15.
Do you have to stop before the lines at the stops always? I feel like it makes me take so long to make a turn and it feels wrong to have to stop twice since I stop then I scoot up and stop again, then turn. Will they take points off for stopping twice?
i am also wondering this. i did it how they did on the video and failed. the person said i shouldn’t do that because it confuses others. not sure now /:
The stop sign law in Arizona is title 28- 855 It says, if you are coming to a stop sign, you must make a stop before the crosswalk or stop line. If there are no white lines on the ground, you can stop at the farthest edge of the road where you can see clearly from both sides The proper way is to stop at the lines, and then move forward if you need to to see better. You can go all the way to something called the lateral curb line. And yes, they can Mark you down two points 4 position after stopping, if you don't stop at the proper place. They will knock you ten points off if you don't make a real stop though.
@@lenavalenz6924 yeah i did, it was really easy. You dont have to worry. Just make your appointment in the morning or else youll have to deal with heavy traffic, especially in the school zones when everyone is picking up their kids.
Sagal Abdikadir one of these days I will do my best to get down there. however, since the laws are the same , as long as you know how to drive without breaking laws you can pass the test anywhere. I have a video "HOW TO DRIVE WITHOUT BREAKING ANY AZ LAWS" That covers all the basics and stuff the cops can pull you over for.
Hi I got a quick question I saw you didn’t go 15 mph on the school zone is that because school wasn’t in session. If it is when do know where you should slow down 15 mph?
Good question. The speed limit does not change in a school zone unless a posted sign says a different speed. The default speed limit if there isn't a speed limit sign in AZ is 25. No special school zone signs = go regular speed limit. If you drive by a school and if they have a 15 sign out, go less than 15. 1mph over is automatic fail. Also cops will write expensive tickets for 1 over in a school zone. School zone speed limits also only apply to active school days. No school that day, no school zone speed limit. Hope that helps!
So at 6:06 you stop and wait a few seconds behind the white line and then you can inch forward? Apparently theres a new "law" that you cant do that but theres no way you can see the cars coming from the right since theres a fence
If there are no lines, paths or sidewalks going through the street, you can choose to stop at the sign, or the lateral curb line. If there are lines or paths or sidewalks going through the driveway or street you are required to stop before them, then you can pull up to see better.

The test is so easy here a smart dog can pass it. No parking test whatsoever. You do not have to do any specific body position when reversing. Just use proper signals and check mirrors and blind spots.
Hey I have a question, didn’t you drive past 2 schools, aren’t we supposed to slow down to 15 the speed limit? I am taking my test soon and I want to pass and that was my question
The speed limit does not change in a school zone unless there is a posted sign that says a different speed. If its a school day and if there is a sign that says school zone speed limit, then go the speed of the sign. If no speed sign, regular speed limit applies. A school *crosswalk* is different than a school *zone* If there are children out walking on a school day, and\or a crossing guard, then you must do 15 but only in the marked area near the crosswalk. Hope that helps!
@@plopping-wetlyacademyofmot9639 Thanks so much! Just took it and passed! I can confirm that they're only doing the parking (pick one of two spots), and pulling over to the curb and backing up 20 feet.

0:12 it shows to look up my Glendale or Avondale video. Here's quick version, 1.make sure you turn into exact center of 1st box. 2. Get up close about 2 feet to the front of the box. Before reversing, turn your wheels all the way. 3. Reverse, keep wheels turned fully until centered in 2nd box. Then straighten out and go back until all the way inside. Remember, every car is different, so you will have to practice a LOT with your own car. Avoid taking huge cars, bring something smaller it will be easier. Make sure you understand how your car steers in reverse, practice backing into parking spaces until you can do it easily and the 3 point turn will be easy. If you rush and try to do 3 point turn but don't understand reverse steering, you can make a nervous mistake and fail. The key is to be practiced and confident in your skills. One day I'll probably make a 3 point turn video...

Thank you so much for the video it helped alot. But to update the test for everyone they are no longer doing 3 point turns, all you have to do is park like you would in a parking lot and there is a few different ways they have you take, I had a shorter than what you took. Thank you for helping.
Thanks for the update. I plan to do an updated video soon of the test.
@@plopping-wetlyacademyofmot9639 coolio keep it up man you're honestly a blessing in disguise with these videos.
**UPDATE**
So unfortunately I failed but I have my retest scheduled for next week and I’m hoping that next time I don’t make the same mistakes I did today. Here’s what I had to do as of Nov. 2021:
1.) Had to show where my hazard lights were and where my parking brake was as well as showing that my horn worked and that my blinkers worked and lit up both in the front of the car and the back.
Just don't speed, take your time and don't run stop signs. Traffic is nuts there in rush hour but good luck good 🤞 luck!
Hey girl, just wondering, have you already re taken your test?
@@alanaaviles7139 I did retake it at Phoenix one other time and unfortunately failed that time as well so then I ended up taking my test at the Mesa location and it was so much easier so I ended up passing at that location.

(1mph over is automatic fails/ticket)
If it's summer it's just 25.
The stop sign law in Arizona is title 28- 855
It says, if you are coming to a stop sign, you must make a stop before the crosswalk or stop line. If there are no white lines on the ground, you can stop at the farthest edge of the road where you can see clearly from both sides
The proper way is to stop at the lines, and then move forward if you need to to see better. You can go all the way to something called the lateral curb line.
And yes, they can Mark you down two points 4 position after stopping, if you don't stop at the proper place. They will knock you ten points off if you don't make a real stop though.
Tomorrow im going to this dmv to take the road test. Is it pretty much similar routes for all the routes? Im more confident to take this test now lol

Do you know if we have to still do the 3 point or any parking right now, because all my friends are telling me different things?
No 3 point or parallel parking.
Does it matter if you have the passenger airbag off and it keeps blinking
They just check headlights taillights blinkers horn and speedometer.
Who told you that?
It's not only legal, its often necessary to be able to see.
You can always pull up to the curb line at any intersection in AZ.

Where’s the 3 point parking vid ?

Not in the near future. Too far away and I don't plan on being there anytime soon..
As long as you know the laws, it's not as important to know the exact route, but just to know the road rules. They're the same on every road. Just don't speed or run stop signs and it's really hard to fail.
Does the route change at all?
cannot confirm or deny the route doesn't change. I only followed one car through the test.
Can I go to my test by myself or do I need someone who has a license to come with me ?
If you're over 18, you can do it alone. Under 18 must have legal guardian for paperwork
ARE THE RULES AND EXPECTATIONS CHANGE EVERY YEAR? OR THE REMAIN THE SAME.
The same
Good job god blessings
Thank you!
Is there parallel parking in this test
Nope. Last I heard they don't even have a 3 point turn. They're just giving out licenses like candy at this DMV!

Hey bro i got a question, I'm 18 so can i take the driving test and get my license or do i still have too get a permit for 6 month's then a license
And also too get a permit, what do i have too do? I took the online free tests ( practice ) and did pretty good. I believe there's 4 tests, but when i actually go too the Dmv by 51st Indian school ( i live around there ) do i take all 4 or one by one on my own time or??? Idk what too do.
@@alastortheradiodemon1074 permit test is 30 questions. You can do at home online now. Or at DMV.
After that you can take a road test to get license
@@plopping-wetlyacademyofmot9639 so the permit test is a once you take it and pass, you'll get a permit? Only one test???
@@alastortheradiodemon1074 yep. 30 questions. That's all to get a permit.
I TOOK THE TEST THIS PAST FRIDAY, ITS SUPER EASY AS LONG AS U STUDY, EVEN TAKE NOTES IF U HAVE TO THATS WHAT I DID...ANYHOW YOU SHOULD PASS IF U DO ALL THAT...I PASSED MINE EASILY GOT 2 WRONG 24/26 QUESTIONS... IT STOPPED ME BEFORE REACHING THE 30TH QUESTION CAUSE I HAD ALREADY PASSED.
