Informative , correct and to the point, thanks man... watched a dozen videos before this and that's an hour of wasted time so your video got me back to my life... thanks... some of these others... down side to scrapping, some scrappers lack that certain something.
Great information, thanks. What metal is used when the bonding wires are white? Do those eproms still have gold inside? One more - is there any difference between the proms that are set in sockets verses soldered onto the board? Thanks again! Jim
I have seen some videos where the trimmed memory card is put in used solution and it dissolves the legs. Saving tons of labor removing them by hand. The proms EPROMs and ic chips. Could that method be used also? Seems like it would reduce the amount of junk metal in the final process? I'm about to try it and would like your opinion.
There are other eproms but i never really see them, so it dont matter. like you said, if its the same it dont matter anyway, they are all headed to the crucible

I keep any eproms just because they're so cool to look at.

The eproms and ic chips i ever come across all have white strands attatched im the middle. What metal are they using in place of gold.

I will work to a certain extend. However the leg go into the IC as well so you still need to remove some of the leg material by hand...
True. Thank you for the response! I appreciate the info.
Another good video. Keep them coming
👍👍👌
you can just put the chips in fuming nitric acid if you want to decap them, but I'm not sure it's worth the gold in there.

Great video......
I really didn't understand which got more gold ics or chips !!
They are the same as far as I can tell, however the Eproms have a much higher resale value as they are reusable. Hope that helps!
