Fayette County Bigfoot Photo and what it means for the Patterson Footage

  • This video is about a photo that was taken in October of 2019. Billy and Sheena's property has a history of sightings, and a skeptic became a believer the afternoon that the photo was taken. Obviously, we all wish the photo was better but I think we're getting there! If wishes were fishes, we'd all be in the ocean.
I get into the Patterson Film in this video, which I hadn't really been expecting, but I definitely think it's worth a consideration.
I hope you enjoy this video!

    Good to have ya back!
I live in Southern Ohio. Ohio Grassman and Mothman area. I'm about 4ish hours away from the river gorge in WV. I live about 30ish minutes from the great River Ohio. The area here is vast. Living next to and have been in WV plenty of times, doesn't surprise me that something would be there.
True story I'm about to tell. I don't believe any of it to be from something real, but from a act of imagination. I'm never to doubt though that there are things I don't know or understand. Especiallyin the universe. Ill give you the area so you can map it if you want. See the area I'm talking about. Coalton Ohio, but north of that town. We use to live in a deep wooded area. Surrounded by woods on every side. My kids were 4 years old, loved to draw on their walls. I always liked it because I enjoyed their artwork and knew I could just paint over them. My daughters room, which on one side of the room a tall enough person could peer through the little window because it was next to level ground. On the wall next to it was the window was high up because below it was our downstairs garage. Either way, you could easily peer into the woods and field. I walk in one day and noticed my daughter had drawn a picture on the wall of me, mom, her, her brother, our two dogs, and cat. She did a pretty good size ratio of each of us. Mommy and dad were taller than her and brother. Next to it was three other drawings. Threes figures, 10x the size of us in the family drawing. Reminded me of a 🌵 but with eyes. It really looked like the ancient Indian cave paintings you'll see if you Google it. I brought my wife in to look at it. She just said "Hmmm". I called my daughter in and asked her about our drawing as a family. She described it with glee. Then I asked her about what the three different large but in varying sized things were. She paused, and she said, "The woods people". I said, "Who are they?". Daughter says, "they live in the woods. I see them out my window".

As someone that lives in the woods & spends a lot of time in them at night I can say with 100% certainty that if I did see something & was able to get a picture it would turn out exactly like this. My dog is black & tan (she’s in my profile pic) & when she gets more than 10-15 yards away from me she virtually disappears. And she’s not even trying to hide.
I also would not ever, ever go chasing after anything. Even though I’m always armed at minimum with a handgun, sometimes a rifle as well, it would be the acme of foolishness to go running through the dense forest after something that makes its home there. Especially at night.
Solid & well reasoned as always Bob. Thank you for yet another fascinating case.

I grew up in the 1970’s in the immediate aftermath of the Patterson film, and Bigfoot was everywhere in entertainment. I accepted the Patterson film as genuine but probably an image of the last member of an otherwise extinct species, and grew up assuming we’d never see anything better to possibly prove it. Only now that I’m in my 50’s in an era of UA-cam and where everyone has an iPhone (in other words a hand held instant video camera), am I confident that it’s only a matter of time before there is another video of clear, detailed Patterson film (or better) quality.
There’s been some compelling clips here and there over the past 10 years that have convinced me, maybe these things weren’t as close to extinction as I thought. But sooner or later someone is bound to capture a long, uninterrupted video of one of these creatures in good lighting, out in the open, unobstructed by foliage. I really believe it’s only a matter of time. And yeah there will still be naysayers who will call it fake but, I have a feeling it will be harder and harder to dismiss as time goes on.

I've thought the same thing, that at some point, someone will get a nice clear video or photo. But they either have within their mental telepathy trick bag a way to make cameras go out of focus or they know how to force the camera to shake when they're in the view, thus getting low quality footage. They also must cause the cameras to quit after 3 or 4 seconds of it trained on them. They further tend to get blocked by every tree in the woods, only to allow 0.5 second glimpses of them before the 3 or 4th second rule kicks in. It's uncanny. Personally, the lighting & focus on this one is so poor that it looks like it could be a person with dark clothing & a ski mask on. Otherwise, why such a short glimpse with poor focus?

The only cameras capable of such a capture are all high end, tens of thousands of dollars. The thirty most people don't understand about phone cameras is digital is shit, it loses data as it's blown up, whereas film retained it. That's why Gimlins video has done the distance, and why camera phones with their fixed focal length never will

I'm from WV. I haven't lived there in years, but those mountains will always be home. Never had any encounter myself, but a friend of my dad's used to throw table scraps and other things over his back porch at night. His porch was elevated pretty high above the ground so at night he would quietly reach his hand over the porch railing and flash a picture with his phone to take pictures of any wildlife that would be out back. One night, the man did this, and when the flash from the phone came on, he heard a loud roar type of noise he had never heard in his life and then something huge tearing through the woods. The picture he got, I was told, looked the back of a gorilla. This story was told to me from my dad, and I never saw the picture myself, so I'm not a first hand witness to the story or the event, but the man that experienced this was a tough as nails country guy that was a simple honest man and hard worker. He would have no reason to lie about it, and him being dishonest is very out of character. I'm not sure if they are real or not, but the subject has always fascinated me

@@N8NiZzL3 Yes, he really does. Along with his analytical mind, he has outstanding research abilities, and his ability to actually treat a topic using a Scientific method ( by which I mean you evaluate ALL facts, compile your data, then form an opinion) make him incomparable. He is almost the quintessence of research. Most researchers today start with a preconceived theory, which means any results or statistics you produce are incomplete or invalid, because you will automatically ignore as unimportant any small detail that doesn't correspond to your theory.
However, in addition to all of these talents, he is a truly gifted speaker. As a Biology major, and then an educator and guest speaker myself, I've heard a lot of bad speeches given by brilliant people. Oratory is an art, and the ability to keep an audience transfixed is rare.
If this was 150 years ago, let's say, I could easily see Bob as an Oxford or Cambridge Don, strolling around in his black gown, spending his time like the other men of that Era did; teaching students and research fellows, performing research and publishing in research journals, and spending his evenings in think-tank discussions over a pipe and a glass of port. A Montague Rhodes James type individual who specialized in Bigfoot. In this Era, he does UA-cam videos, but I think he was born too late. He was absolutely made for that kind of life and would have been paid handsomely to do it too, with awed undergrads pointing at him in hushed tones as he strode by, " Look, there's Professor Gymlan. I'd give anything to be selected as his research fellow ". But that's just me. 😏 I think weird things like that. It's a life I myself would have loved.

Cell phones take highly compressed photos. And in general it is the color information that is the most diluted by this process. Sometimes it's beneficial to completely take out the color because the luma (gray values) are sharper. Some photo editor apps will also allow you to prioritize the RGB channels so that certain color ranges stand out over others. Reducing the green and blue channels would bring out the reds, separating fur and flesh tones from plants and rocks.

I've watched videos on Patty in which some speculate she was deliberately walking in full view in order to draw them into an ambush where others were waiting. Sheena's heritage warning people to keep their children inside at night and the number of weird missing children cases out in the woods leads me to believe that sighting one isn't just a brush with the unknown-they've just had a run in with potentially mortal danger. The feeling of unease people get out in the woods is a survival instinct that shouldn't be ignored. Friendly or not a close encounter is not the time to find out with what's obviously an apex predator.

Regarding Bigfoot leaning while walking or running....I believe it's Thinker Thunker's video called "Grand Canyon Bigfoot" where he says the local Indian word for Bigfoot means "the man who leans when he runs." Also, regarding the PG film from 1967, one of the earliest critiques of the footage was by an expert on primate locomotion when he noted that Patty pulls her right shoulder way back in order to look behind her and that this is a trait of large primates (but not humans) because their necks are so short their jaw will not clear their shoulders to execute this maneuver. Compared to a human walk the shoulder moves back very little (at 15:17) to perform this movement. That early comment has always stuck with me when viewing the old PG film, which I've seen countless times (and in great detail due largely to the work of M.K. Davis). How many hoaxers would know this? Thanks for this video.

    • @danielbrannan2234

I love MK Davis. He has had a life full of adventure. Have you seen the video he mad of the Giants handprint in Lovelock cave? You're right about the locomotion difference between Patty and Human. You can almost see all of Patty's chest when she looks back and the human just turns his head.

    • @runlarryrun77
      @runlarryrun77 Рік тому

The shoulder, the ripped thigh muscle, the exposed breast, there's a lot going on that a hoaxer wouldn't think of.
Even Patty's feet in the video check out with how the feet from casts taken from footprints would locomote.
So you either have a large network of organised hoaxers with an extraordinary eye for detail who've worked across North America for hundreds of years without anyone blowing the whistle (forget Hieronimus, he's a crank) or you have a large bipedal primate that we can't find partially because it has evolved to evade us. I'd opt for the latter.
Given that evidence is growing all the time, there is a relative in the fossil record that Sasquatch could be descended from (Giganto) & even renowned mainstream primate experts like Jane Godall are saying they're more than open to the possibility of a Bigfoot type creature existing in the habitat where there are sightings - well it's just a matter of time until the narrative around bigfoot shifts from that of disbelief to acceptance.

On android phones, if you double tap the power button, it will launch the camera app, even if your phone is locked. You can then snap pictures with either volume button, so you don't have to find the onscreen button at all.

Exactly. Where I live bears are as common as squirrels are in parks. Every kid around here has seen a bear close up. Our whole town only has 50 people and a General store. When you live among woods, and farms, you learn the sounds of all of the wildlife and can tell the difference between a bear and something else. Some people' s cognitive dissonance just causes them to make blatant statements that don't make any sense.

Especially since there are so many lame Bigfoot channels that get hundreds of thousands of views and really are nothing more than grown men bumbling around in the woods like BBs in a boxcar, knocking on trees, hooting, and then saying " Did you just hear that?" which I guess for a group of guys with IQs just sufficient to tie their shoes or pump gas, is a pretty lucrative way to make a living when you have no brains, no talent, and no skills. Then, you have a man like Bob Gymlan and the algorithm seems to just ignore him. I guess he doesn't do enough " stupid human " tricks for the algorithm's liking. If he was snorting cinnamon or dumping ice water over his head, he'd have a million subscribers. Sometimes you just have to shake your head and wonder what went wrong with humanity.

For the record, I am a believer in the existence of Bigfoot. However, if we want to lend credibility to these first-hand accounts in order to vindicate people like you, Billy and even Randy, we must approach them with a slight suspicion and investigate them with a fervent zeal. Hey Bob just wanted to point something out and say thank you. Years ago I saw something in the woods at night. I turned the flashlight on to what looked like a 2 to 3 ft tall goblin. I wasn't scared as it was such a fundamental shock to the brain I couldn't have chased after it if I wanted I was just to stunned. Being it was well after dark I not only saw it I heard it run through a swampy area I still was so disbelieving I went back at first light and saw the tracks of it in the mud and moss. It barely scuffed the surface but you could see the tracks for a good 50ft. It was in 1985 and to think of trying to make a plaster cast was even in my thought process. Yet that one sighting fundamentally changed my perception of reality and my outlook on life in such profound ways its taken over 30 plus years to realize how much it will change you. So these videos have a special importance to me that you won't grasp until you have had an experience. So people that say oh chase it down lol.. well let's just say it's definitely betrays their ignorance... thank you again

It was wearing some like long red hat thing on its head but it was a dull color. I think I could see a tuft of hair that may have been silver or whitish color but the flashlight kind of color washed it. The pants like things it has on was like rolled down for a waste and it had looked like it cut slash marks to feed what looked like some kind of rope or fiber belt. The little thing was so very very fast. When I lit it up with the flashlight it was gone in a hurry. I could hear it running through the bit of wood line left out into a corn field. Like I said I wondered about it all that night and got up at daylight went back out and looked at where it had ran through the water and you could literally see the track way of scuff and disturbed moss leaves and mud. It was small and faint but I could see it. A couple close friends I told about it at the time knew I saw something but they couldn't wrap their head around a goblin thing lol as I had no other reference for it. So they asked was it a dear and one said I bet it was a pheasant lol. One I have been hunting since I was young and there were no wild pheasant up here at the time. If you follow his method of anatomy measurement, it's pretty easy to tell that there's more going on in the video than "a guy in a monkey suit," as he puts it.
Oh, and thank you for all you do, Bob. Your content is always top quality and, even better, always makes me think, or see something in a different way. I appreciate that you don't put your content behind a paywall. You are greatly appreciated.

Your Videos are always a joy to watch and engage the grey matter. You excel at open mindedness, are non judgemental and consider all possibilities. You always argue both for and against the alleged encounters, leaving us viewers free to think for ourselves.
Thanks Bob, keep doing what you do. Regards from England.
