I have a TIVo in our living room and another smaller unit in our bedroom that just connects to the other one like a slave. I can’t remember the model names right now. I also connect to it remotely with my phone, iPad, and laptop. But this new device seems like it could have potential to connect from another location. For instance, when I travel for business, could I connect this to the hotel TV and connect across the internet to my TiVo back home?

But is it better than the fire stick? If you had it choose a dongle, what would you recommend as a go to device among all that are out there? And do you have any recommendations on an over the air antenna for broadcast TV channels. Thanks and enjoying your videos
If I had to choose I would get this device over a firestick , but only if the firestick was not running a sale at the time , meaning both devices sitting at the $49 price. I just like Android TV a lot better then the Fire TV operating system , also having a USB C port and slightly more RAM than the firestick makes It overall a better device.
As for over the air TV antennas , I recommend anything that has a high range (at least 50 miles)
You can get either an indoor one or outdoor ,that is your preference, the outdoor ones will have better performance but you'll have to mess around with installing it
Google "Antenna Direct Transmitter Locator" and it should bring you to a site where you can type in your zip code and see how far away the TV broadcasters are from you so you can gauge how good of an antenna you'll need .

So i buy this and the just by my netflix hulu or whatever streaming service i want How many free local channels?
There won't be any local channels , In order to get local channels for free you'd have to get yourself a TV antenna , and so long as that channel is broadcasting within a certain range of your antenna youll be able to watch for free!

In order to do any type of streaming, such as netflix/hulu you will need internet, so I dont recommend getting rid of that.
As for the TV antenna, check this website here : www.antennasdirect.com/transmitter-locator.html
You can type in your ZIP and itll tell you where the local TV station broadcasts are coming from and how far away they are from you. So when you go to shop for a TV antenna, each one will have a certain Mile Range...something like 50, 75, 100 Miles.... etc.
Just get a good enough antenna thatll reach far enough to pickup the stations nearest you ... the website will also tell you what stations are available in your area, just click the "View Channels" button after typing your zip code

Nfl network? Local channels?
You wont get local channels or NFL network, but the service "Sling TV" I believe integrates well with this TiVO Stream app...but it cost money!
Here I go putting a date on myself again, lol Does this TiVo like the TiVo from back in the day have the ability to “Zap” live tv commercials signals and just keep playing the content? I loathe tv commercials. Crazy waste of eyeball time.
