When you said "hey Google, open Netflix" it opened the Netflix app on my phone; may wanna have a graphic on screen of the "hey Google" command (instead of saying it) so it doesn't trigger the app opening up on devices that listens for that
I’ve had Google Chromecast, Tivo, Onn, Fire sticks and Nvidia shield pro. I bought the Roku 2024 Ultra and I love it. The reason that they don't allow the Google Play Store is because they can't guarantee that the apps will work on their boxes. That makes sense. So far it's been the best streaming box I've had. Just mu opinion.
It's better than any firestick or cube ! Why? Because amazon can't fuck with it and ruin it with terrible updates, pushing all kinds of crap in your face.
I've been thinking of getting this because I have a Amazon Firestick and it's really slow when it comes to scrolling through apps and loading the apps as well.. I also heard it doesn't have a lot of ads like the Firestick does also
@UpgradeGuyTech It also depends if people wanna use Kodi because with Amazon Firestick you have to jailbreak it and for some people, it's not easy (even though I've been doing to for a long time which people pay me to do it ) but with Google Play Store, the app is there for free
Well said, but I think it does have the ability to dethrone. Unlike with Fire TV, I can finally reach my custom launcher with one tap of a well-placed button, which was my main reason for switching. Sideloaded Tennis Channel too.
@@UpgradeGuyTech I'm loving it. It's what I wanted the Fire Stick to be, but I sensed that Amazon would keep opposing the use of custom launchers and other conveniences. Finally moved on.

Great video and information, I am still debating on buying a Amazon Firestick 4K Maxx with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of SSD storage as opposed to a ONN 4K Pro box that has 3GB of RAM and 32GB of SSD storage.
@@UpgradeGuyTech Great point, will do you think Amazon will force a new OS on older Amazon Firesticks, or just the newer models? What is your opinion on a Superbox? My brother has one and really likes it, and cancelled his Direct TV subscription.
I got one of these and installed but the problem is when the TV is off and I ask question like "Hey Google how is the weather today?" the speaker of the TV box does not respond! I am sure that the TV box gets my question and it is answering but the voice is going to TV through HDMI cable even though the TV is off! Then when I disconnect the HDMI cable from TV and try again I get the answer from TV Box speaker! I don't know what is wrong but while the HDMI Cable is connected to TV and TV is turned off I can not hear any answer from my Google! Any suggestions will be highly appreciated to solve this problem!
I use mine setup so when I turn the box on, the TV (and my surround unit) turn on with it ... And off turns everything off at once. This has the effect of the box no longer using (actually my surround unit) as audio out. Basically, look through the settings of your TV (and/or external sound device) and the box... I'm sorry I don't know the tech terms offhand but there's a link between them via HDMI that allows the box to basically control the TV and turn it on and off and use the audio or not. It sounds to me like you're just turning the TV off by itself and box has no idea it's not still outputting to it.
@ Thanks for your update. I found out the name of technology is “HDMI-CEC” which lets the devices to communicate to each other. But unfortunately older TVs do not support this technology and that was the problem with my setup!
I might go back to Fire Stick, because having buttons for Play, Rewind, and Fast-Forward is better in apps like ESPN. I can't pair a good alternate remote with Onn.
As someone who recently moved and is looking for a new tv and a new streaming box this one so far is looking to be my choice for the streaming box. Whatever tv I get it will not have the Roku o/s as I don't want ads coming on my dvd player via the hdmi port.

Ugt you are fired
Performance has improved a lot with updates since that AFTV News benchmark.
I will have to look into it! I am sure he will re run the tests at some point
Walmart launched the device months ahead of schedule due to it going viral so all remotes were meant to have backlit free tv remote but due to early release the remotes weren't quite ready so they shipped with what they had available
yes that was not known when I created the video. Thank you for clarifying!!
32G OF STORAGE 3G OF RAM I CAN SIDELOAD 3RD PARTY APPS IN MY OPINION IS BETTER THAN THE FIRESTICK BECAUSE HOW LONG WILL PEOPLE BE ABLE TO SIDELOAD ON THE NEW FIRESTICK OPERATING SYSTEM? THATS A WIN FOR ME WITH THIS ONN 4K PRO IM REALLY LIKIN THIS NEW ONN STREAMING DEVICE
I don't think anyone cares about the benchmarks however you forgot to mention the 32 gigs of memory That's important
I'm replacing my Fire stick with it.
I'll save my money and stick to the 15 dollar onn 2k Stick .
Upgrade to the 19 dollar one. You won't regret it.
Take care.
agree the extra 1GB of ram on the box makes a difference
I would but honestly with a 4k tv nothing on the forestick or onn box/stick upscales to 4k ... on a side note maybe one day I'll splurge on an Nvidia that this awesome dude @upgradeguytech boasts about @tetuone11
The Roku Ultra has a find my remote button on the device.
yes thank you I knew I forgot one!!

Haha good catch
With the new fire sticks going to their proprietary operating system. This thing will be the new hotness.
That’s not confirmed
@UpgradeGuyTech it is actually. I read somewhere the Vega OS (that's what they're calling it) is releasing sometime this fall.
This onn Pro awesome because goggle nest built in plus lost onn remote control where at sound finding remote control plus 32gb that championship
Not faster than the 2022 Fire Cube sorry its slower and laggys so much, good budget device but can't play with the big boys sorry girls..
You're cute 😂
@@jpeezy420jjjjj You're an troll
I have 4 firesticks 4k and Amazon locked out everything that you can add or do with these devices. I finally decided to throw them in the garbage can and buy the ONN because it beats firestick by a mile. So stop moaning and bitching.

Where's the part that shows us what we all think it is, and why we're wrong? Stupid typical click bait complete bs from UGT. Your subscribers have to be like 80 year olds that don't know better.
