Hey, I have a 2011 BMW X5 and it's impossible to remove the emblem. When I'm pulling back the whole entire holder is coming off. Is it different with the 2011 models or is it the same procedure. Thanks
I think it is different, 2011 X5 is not E53
Procedure is pretty much all the same just different size roundel emblem. Removal and installation is the same. Just put a blow dryer to it for a 40-80 seconds on high and it will come off no problem. This will soften and loosen up the adhesive.
Do you know if e46 touring have the same rear badge??

I tried this but it's so damn hard! I have scratched the housing already., initially using a small + screw driver, then plastic. Mine is a 2016 BMW X5 F15 M-sports.
Did you succeed? I have the same vehicle F15 and wish to change the emblem because it is blistered. How did you do?
@@mathieugrandjean4331 If anyone still has a question about the F15, please note that It requires removal of the entire chrome unit from the lid of the vehicle. You cannot simply remove the emblem. If you decide to purchase an aftermarket emblem, it will have to be affixed over the original one.

You could try a 3M double sided tape. Might be tricky to get the correct thickness so it sits correctly. The factory stuff shown here is on the thin side.

not totally sure but check out your car on realoem.com look at the diagram for the emblem it should give you an idea of how it is applied to the car, hope it helps

Yes I think this is exactly what happened! The previous owner of the car did this, I made this video shortly after buying the car.

The emblem looks like it’s been pried open already and you just put the screw behind to pull it out … I couldn’t get screw driver into mine

It's different on a 2012 I tore mine all to shit getting it off. Now I gotta get a new mounting bracket. Lol
They’re not easy. As long as you don’t mess up the paint on the actual trunk lid! The small pieces can be replaced, pretty inexpensive.
@@BIMMERZEITT The way it looked and the way the emblem looked it has a rib. It's all one piece. Kinda hard to explain. I'll get a new one but I ruined this. And plus what I did was ordered ALPINA emblems. They sent two different sizes and both are the same size 82mm

You should lift your tailgate and remove the screws pop out the housing insert a new one screw back up all done ✔ why do people lie n bs just tell the truth and DO NOT TRY PRYING IT OFF.
