Did you just say "Low key????" Obviously you are not listening to it correctly, so let me help you out! Get some old-school Cerwin Vega D5's (like mine) and crank it up as loud as it will go, then lay on your back and slide under the pool table so you can really feel the bass and drums (like I do) with your head between the speakers (Like I do) and close your eyes, then just LET GO!

So glad you liked it. It is hard not to feel this song if you take the time to get into the vibe in the intro. It takes you on the journey sonically then he takes you home with the lyrics.

Was not his first listen 😅 he’s singing the parts as they play. The guitar solo at the beginning and a part of the first chorus, both parts hadn’t repeated yet and he sang with it perfect. 🤘 great song regardless if dude is faking the reaction lol
What a reflection on that song... For me you're bang on point. It took a while to grow on me until I fully understood what's it's about and I could fully appreciate it. It's my favourite now from Fear Inoculum album. Bless

This is the best Tool song I've heard live, then again only seen them once lol. The panning/ping-ponging volume swells during the interlude after Adam's first solo will make the hair on the back of your neck stand up and send chills up your spine. It's so ominous and they extend it live, then when they go into the lead-up to his second solo with the heavy riff and the Moog (he uses a synth on the floor with foot pedals to make those sounds) live...it's perfection. Tool is one of a handful of bands that continues to consistently put out high quality material. I wish I could relive it because I don't know how often they'll play this again live or when.

I'm not a huge Dickinson fan as far as vocals go but have always enjoyed the Eddie art. Surprisingly, Bruce is still going at it. I think the last CD I got of his was tattooed millionaire if that tells you how long it's been since I've checked him out 😀.

@@YTubeScandalScrambledMyHandle Yep. I agree with you about not being a fan of his style. The opera style wasn't my favorite, but their overall sound was awesome, so I stuck around. I started from Maidens first album and the last one I got was Seventh Son. I went into the Marines in 89 and my music taste changed a bit. As a result, I just never bought any more of their stuff. Honestly, I don't think I've heard anything of theirs since then. That's over 30 years. Man I'm old. Lol.

@@LanceThompsonKssooner this shit has been creeping in since the late 1800's. Mccarthy was right in the 40's- 50's. It really gained a foothold in the 60's as the universities were taken over. Now they've filled enough positions throughout the country and in media that they can blatantly steal elections....it's over Johnny !
I also see the song as a warning that we humans are destroying the planet and if we don't reverse the damage, have 'one drive to stay alive', where will we be in another hundred years? The picture as is doesn't look good for the health of the planet. The ocean sounds just remind me how much damage global warming is doing to the coral reefs and sea creatures and plastic clogging the ocean and ocean levels rising, etc. The serene ocean sounds shows the majestic beauty of the natural world, and we should have more respect for that and for ALL living beings sharing the planet, not just our human selves. But I also agree with your more personal take, that we need to stop thinking we're floating through our lives all numb and complacent when we are actually falling but too apathetic to do much about it. I struggle with that malaise myself lately, just feeling tired and worn out by all the craziness in the world and at 60 still trying to motivate myself to do and be better.
