At the time Zhang Fei was fighting off the crowd, Zhao Yun was running away, climbing on walls, riding horses while standing up, jumping off the water fall with armies chasing him. This is how Zhao Yun fought off the army while protecting the baby all because Zhang Fei stayed behind to fight off the army while Zhao Yun runs off with the baby. So that game play where Zhang Fei fights off the whole army is part of the reason why Zhao Yun is on the run with a baby on board.

I know Bao Sanniang was fictional, but I don't understand why she could appear when Liu Shan was a baby. Guan Suo was born after Liu Shan, Bao Sanniang too.

Don't forget that Guan Yu pushed his son Guan Suo to a river so that his son can live. As shown in Jin story, Guan Suo was still alive which was the aftermath of Guan Yu's death. So if Guan Suo was already an adult, so can Bao Sanniang. Both Bao Sanniang and Guan So would be about a same age as each other. Bao Sanniang would be the one marrying the son of god of war Guan Yu.
