I really feel like Tavern Brawler belongs here. Riddick literally kills a guy with a cup
Agreed
Plus it goes great with unarmed fighting
I feel like improvised weapons are underrated.
I agree, but what would you replace with it?
Maybe one of the strength bumps? Not sure exactly but especially for those of us that played the games half the weapons he uses are improvised weapons.
Screwdrivers, a pin, shivs, his shrapnel knife in Pitch Black.
The dude is a poster child for improvised weapons
I agree. Tavern brawler and change the fighting style to two weapon. Drop one of the strength bumps. Swap race with Drow for Goliath and you still get Riddick's ridiculously high feats of strength. Plus a strength bump from race that makes up for the loss of an ASI.
Vin Diesel making his D&D character real is an Epic Gamer Moment
also did his "witch hunter" but the movie wasn't as good
though the one shot with critical role was pretty good
@@ShurikenSean he did a one shot with crit role??
@@tk3venestros697 Not Crit Role specifically, but while they were under the Geek & Sundry Umbrella yeah. Search for 'D&Diesel' and you should find it. Uncut is 30 minutes though and no editing unfortunately. Matt talked about doing it in a few places, but its still a fun and easily digestible watch. There's also CelebriD&D that he ran, the Terry Crews episode is fun too!
@@CURSEDSei The entire Blood Hunter class came from this one shot.
@@JDGansGaming wait for real? So we have the sweet minds of Matt Mercer and Vin diesel to thank for this
Riddick-ulously nice build ;)
10/10 pun
This one physically hurt me. Well done.
@@tulokthebarbrarian2033 Wraith king/Skeleton king from dota 2 PLEASE!
Have a gross anatomy test tomorrow and stressing, just saw this and I'm ready for anything. Thanks man!
If you're studying muscle groups, Vin Diesel is really helpful
I had a math and computer science test today. Haven't actually watched the video yet because of that. Just finished my math test
@@dayalasingh5853 you got this
@@tulokthebarbrarian2033 Delts for days
Thats the kind of grit i like to see, Tulok. Now get grittier. Gritty, grim, dreddful lawful neutral level grit.
Judge Dredd.
"I AM THE LAW!"
I try a cheap versión with a paladín con conquest( like Dart vader)
New paladin subclass, Crown oath came along. That's pretty much it. Custom Lineage, build your paladin as you want, whether it be tank or damage, just make sure you got edge, like the one on the sword of Lady Justice
I’m running an apocalyptic campaign for my players and I think I just found an NPC they can run into. Keep up the great work man.
Better than him running into the party. There'd be no survivors.
"Groot or Iron Giant."
;-; don't make me choose
We Are SoOoperman
Ironwood Giant. Best of both worlds.
Please do: How to play: Roland Deschain von Gilead from The dark Tower.
Me, during the Intro: "Oh God, this sounds like Drizzt."
Me, at first level: "Whew, thank goodness."
This is amazing! Has anyone shown this to Vin Diesel!?
I tag him on twitter
Love this series so much! I'd love to see what an Illidan Stormrage or Sylvannas Windrunner from Warcraft build would look like with the Tulok Treatment
I've been waiting for this one since I discovered your channel!
Happy to help!
“...you can have the most darkvision possible”
Laughs in twilight cleric
INFINITE DARKVISION
Ok that needs to be nerfed before official release. At least the sharing it part
@@jarrettmcminn4393 i also feel like having something unlimited is weird in dnd
Is there a mechanical limitation to how far PCs can see? I know the longest attack range is getting Spell Sniper Feat, Eldritch Spear Invocation, and cast Eldritch Blast as a cozy 600 feet distance.
Unless there's a magical Great Longbow I don't know about.
The only thing I can find on Sight maximum is a Totem Barbarian skill where you can 'see' like an eagle.
@@kylethomas9130 yes, there is. Dungeon masters screen. 2 miles clear day no obstructions, 1 mile rainy, 100 to 300 foggy, 20X from a height
I really think Vin Diesel should see this! He's gonna love it!
Finally you did it!! thank you so much, I'm pretty sure everyone here and me can agree, that this is the closest one can come to creating Riddick in D&D, you rock!
YES! I suggested this a few months back, thanks Tulok Riddick is one of my favorite fictional characters I'd totally use this build.
I haven't watched these movies in way too long. Now I want to binge them all
There's some overlap in skills between ranger and scout rogues, so I might go Thief for advantage on stealth checks at lvl 9, with the mobility of 2nd story work to make up for the lost movement bonus of scout. Riddick is impossible to find in the dark.
If I were minmaxing instead of building a movie accurate character, I'd change the race to variant human since gloomstalkers get darkvision anyway, dump unarmed fighting and STR for CHA and two weapon fighting, go gloomstalker 11/swashbuckler 9. This makes you a better 1v1 duelist since you add CHA and WIS to initiavtive, can sneak attack 1v1, and eliminate opportunity attacks. And Riddick wins his duels
man when you said animal side i thought we'd be getting some barbarian animal shit but this works too. excellent vid.
Got a message about an underdark campaign starting up... may have to use this :)
I didn’t even know about this character, but I now want to use this build
how to play as Malcolm Reynolds
(Firefly)
Swashbuckler/Gunslinger?
@@FirstnameLastname-kn5sw hmm, definitely on the rouge stuff, maybe Crossbow Expert if the other subclass isn't allowed.
I loved these movies so much that I named my barbarian Furya after Riddick's planet, he is one of my all time favorite characters I've ever played!
I built a character based around Riddick a few months back and I'm pleased to see that it was very close to your build. He plays great to. Super Stealthy and lethal in darkness.
This one is actually somthing I didn't think I needed but wow do I love it.
Wait, my fist aren't finese weapons? How dare you wizards of the Coast! I challenge you all to fisticuffs!!!
@@omegagilgamesh I've been into martial arts for over 40 years, and I laugh when D&D rules claim fists aren't finesse weapons. And in every game I've played in and run, they ARE.
How is this possible? You train to hit with precision and accuracy, studying the body for vulnerabilities, dismantling fighting stances, and somehow this isn't considered finesse, even when playing a monk, and you USE Dex as the attack mod for your Melee attacks
Had no idea what this was then my father recently had me watch Pitch Black. Holy shit this guy is awesome
One thing, points to you for remembering that Riddick was a combat medic. Also, why not give him thieves tools?
You get thieves' tools at first level of Rogue
This is definitely my favorite one so far.
Makes me really want to rewatch these movies. Don't think I own them currently sadly.
Thank you thank you thank you. I have been waiting for this one for a while. I created him as a ranger, a rogue, ranger/rogue and as a monk/rogue. Great job.
Hello Tulok, first of all I would like to say thank you, I love The Chronicles Of Riddick, they are some of the few movies that I like to watch again and again. Here are some ideas for the next build if you want:
-Diego Brando (Jojo's Part 7 Steel Ball Run) and his stand Scary Monsters
-Beowulf (Skullgirls) Severed Giant Arm is optional
-Gabriel Belmont aka Dracula (Lords Of Shadows 1 or 2)
-Lupin The Third (Lupin The 3rd)
-Rex Salazar (Generator Rex)
-Gehrman The First Hunter (Bloodborne)
Thank you again for the quality content and I hope you have a great day!
DMs, would you allow "sunglasses" on a drow ?
Sure! Your local Artificer could hook you up nicely! They're in all of the Steampunk gnome pictures!
If your world had tech that would necessitate welding, they probably have tech to protect their eyes.
Considering that the Chinese had them as early as the 12th century (and possibly earlier), I don't see a problem with it. Glass does exist in D&D, and it's no huge jump to tinting the glass to decrease the sunlight coming through it. I not only would allow it, I'd even point it out to a player who chose Drow as a race.
Alternately you could use the trick that so many Halloween costumes do, and wear a veil or blindfold of very thin dark fabric.
Hard choice between Groot and iron giant
Vins voice work is truly impressive
We Are Superman
Would there be some way to slip in 2 levels of warlock to take devil's sight and play as a human just for that extra surprise factor when they find out you can see through their darkness?
You'd have to pull those two levels from somewhere and sacrifice those skills/spells. There's no free lunch! :)
Couldn't dump CHA in that case. You'd need at least a 13 to multiclass into warlock.
@@omegagilgamesh Yes, I do recall that from the game as well. Excellent point!
You could barter with a planar power for a minor boon like devil's sight, but that is role-playing and bartering for it
I don’t follow you on Twitter or Patreon, so seeing some of these builds come out is so exciting. I never would have considered Riddick as a topic.
This was really well built nicely done.
THANK YOU! I appreciate this, I remember commenting for this, and you replied to me in one of your earlier videos :)
I've been waiting for this build for ages!
I think your videos are getting suppressed, man. I'm full blown subscribed to your channel but lately I've had to go looking for your videos instead of recieving the notifications for them. Keep up the good work though, dude. Loving everything you're putting out.
Thanks for another great vid Tulok!
Hey not sure if anyone has said this before but, I think it would be amazing to see Mewtwo built as a pc. I grew up with pokemon and Mewtwo has always been a pokemon icon for me. He is strong and quick and has a change of heart showing that he does have a softer side. I would just love to be able to play a campaign as my favorite pokemon and I feel as if it may be a challenge on you’re end as well. Keep up the great work
Happy to know I had similar thoughts on how to build riddick
Hear me out, Inigo Montoya or the Dread Pirate Roberts
What stats do you need to crush rocks in your hands?
Kyle Thomas 24 strength and 20 charisma. Andre was perfect.
So.....swashbuckler and revenge Paladin?
Didn't know I needed this until now
I was looking forward this
You can look forward to it in the dark!
Awesome job! I have been wanting to see a Riddick build in d&d for a while thank you. Have you ever thought about D from vampire hunter D? Also can't wait to see Legolas if you can sneak it in there. Keep up the great job.
Would love to see D
Got a Spike Spegiel from Cowboy Bebop in there?
I'd say it'd be similar to his John Wick build with a heavier monk focus.
Vin Diesel himself is clearly a variant human with an amazing voice feat
You actually did it. Thank you 🤘🏾
Riddick's eyes being artificial was a lie he told in the original movie. He was born that way.
Funny thing is his eyes are something he was born with. Riddick is what is known as a Alpha Furyan and as a result his eyes are a clear indicator of that lol
I like this, but I did Goliath for my build. The strength/look I felt was more on than Drow. It sacrificed sunlight sensitivity, but in return brings into play Riddick's ridiculous carry ability which is a plot feature in 2 of the 3 live action movies. Same classes though. Over all, I like it. The elf resistance to charm/sleep is also very on the spot for Riddick.
I have never seen a riddick movie in my life. maybe now I gotta watch one
Episode 133 of the Fire Emblem stats: Richard Riddick.
He's good at using swords and bows. While he has no weaknesses with weaponry, he does have a weakness in authority since he often works alone.
His charm isn't very high and he's slow since he's more of an analytic but the rest of his stats are solid.
Love these
@@tulokthebarbrarian2033 Thanks! It got a bit screwy in the middle with some characters missing but I'm glad I'm all caught up.
Hey Tulok here's an idea: if not He-Man, how about featuring Eragon Shadeslayer or Roran Stronghammer from The Inheritance Cycle book series on the channel
Couldn't the magic damage problem be dealt with by the magic weapon spell that was added to the ranger spell list
I hope you do the Mandalorian, Id venture as similar to boba fetts but with more of a fighter battle master variant
I was literally thinking about this the other day. I figured he would have to be a drow, but wasn’t sure if that was correct. Definitely wasn’t expecting rogue and ranger, to make him. I thought rogue and fighter maybe. I guess I need to watch the movies again. But I wouldn’t recommend playing the game lmao.
I would go assassin rouge 4/gloomstalker4/fighter 12. The man is a beast that takes people by surprise in one round and that's in full light
Tulok, we need a clone trooper build, Captain Rex, Commander Cody, and 5's just to name some of the well known Tropper brothers
As someone currently playing this, this build is legit.
Great Build, it may already be on the list, but a Martian Manhunder/Miss Martian build would be interesting to see.
Riddick is cool
Nice build
8:41 I just realized when you mentioned using the Scout's Superior Mobility in conjunction with the Gloom Stalker's Dread Ambusher, if you also use your Cunning Action to Dash, you could start your surprise round 90 feet away and still rush in to make three attacks!
Should totally do a video on Brigette Lindholm or Ryuko Matoi in the future. I have a couple ideas as to those characters, but it'd always be awesome to see others' thoughts and opinions
I was thinking about a Deadman Wonderland themed character. Like using Matt Mercer's Blood Hunter and making it a combination of some of the characters abilities found in the manga/anime. Using Order of the Profane Soul and its pact is the Hexblade, whenever you summon your sword it is actually your blood in sword form and then using spells to create other blood effects or abilities.
I think this might be the firat Vin Diesel build for the channel??? Great video as always!
Interesting request, since i know you can do anything after the Superman video: how would you do a Kaiju/Godzilla build? Kong vs. Godzillas coming up and I'd love to get some more giant monster action out of my dnd games
AcceptTheException the tarrasque would be Godzilla.
@@madara4447 ah yes, i agree. But im looking for a PLAYER CHARACTER version of Godzilla. Possibly the largest possible character build ever including the "enlarge" spell or something else
Ok so this was most epic.
I've got an idea to give you for another build...
Baymax from Big Hero 6.
Warforged Life Cleric? Maybe even a dip in Armored Artificer?
I am surprised this build did not include even one level in barbarian.
Also Tulok, I think you may be laboring under a common misconception about sneak attack. Sneak attack does not require you to use dexterity for the attack; it requires you to use either a finesse weapon (which allows you to use either strength or dexterity) or a ranged weapon (which does require dexterity).
Hell yeah!
Glad you approve
@@tulokthebarbrarian2033 kite man mext
I would love to see Tulok make Death The Kid at some point.
"Running isn't really your thing but you could be running at another person you want to stab."
make feauture length movies out of his dnd characthers*
Cause he's done it before, with last which hunter. A feature length film about the charcather he's been using for decades xD
My next suggestion is Vash the Stampede but I can wait a bit.
Could we get Kakashi from Naruto?
Great Vid like always. My own suggestion is to finish the Castlevania trio with Syphas as you got Alucard and Trevor. Just saying. No matter what’s we all win with the next character write up.
The one and only thing I would do is talk with the dm about sunglasses or welder's goggles
I'd make a pun but trying to make puns out of characters you've jsut heard of is riddick-ulous (im sorry)
Angry drunk guy swinging a plastic chair with a k9 guard dog next please
Thats... specific
I really wanna know who this character and series is now
I'm drawing a blank on this one...
I would love to see you make Doctor Doom, Mysterio or Kraven the hunter
OMG THANK YOU!!!
Riddick! Also, days? No, he did the poison conditioning for months.
The first member of the Vin-A.D.D.0 Twins. #DecemberTulokRewatch
I wonder if we will ever see Iruma Suzuki from Welcome to Demon School: Iruma-kun in a D&D built in the future. Human kid stuck in the world of demons. Uncanny ability to dodge every attack and borrows Magic from his kidnapper who is also his Grandpa.
Im so happy
You probably never heard of this but kaladin from the storm light archieves would be really fun
For the next one what about guardians of the Galaxy Rocket i think is fairly easy you choose a small tabaxi and get tinkerer and get the thundermonger.
Can you do Leon S. Kennedy from Resident Evil 4
I was thinking about this too, I was thinking fighter, specifically monster hunter with the haunted one background. Perfect for the governments secret weapon against the undead.
Vin Diesel is so lovely :3
Thank you
I kinda want to see Burt Gummer from Tremors. Need to use all the weapons, some boomies, and a lot of survivalist know-how.
Now just make your goggles Goggles of Night, and you'll have like... hella good darkvision. And goggles
YESSSSSS Riddick!
Can you do Tarzan next?
Not next, but someday
Animal Friendship is a must, but how to acquire the spell?
Druid, Ranger, or Lore Bard?
Wolf from Sekiro Shadows Die Twice sounds badass
finally my dream has come true
Hear me out.
Thomas Cat from Tom and Jerry.
Obyern Martell from ASOIAF
Tulock will you be doing sypha for season 3 of castlevania coming out on Netflix
I thought Kalder from The Last Witch Hunter was the character based on one of Vin's PCs? I've seen it come up more frequently that Riddick is based on a Drow he played a long time ago, but I don't remember reading or hearing anything about it until a year or two ago.
Regardless man, great build! Drow are awesome, I just wish they didn't have that darn sunlight sensitivity!
