In this video, we'll be showing you how to build a Goblin Slayer character in Dungeons & Dragons!
If you're a fan of Dungeons & Dragons, then this video is for you! In this tutorial, we'll walk you through the steps needed to create a Judge Dredd character, from choosing your race to selecting your class. We'll also discuss the basic rules of Dungeons & Dragons, so you can start playing today!
Dredd is the law, so building a lawful character I had to go with a Paladin but it can definitely be tricky to make a ranged paladin in D&D, however I think we pulled it off.

In truth, Judge Dredd carries a nightstick (daystick) and a boot knife as part if his equipment. These are strictly backup melee weapons, though. In dnd terms this build can carry a dagger and small club as stand-ins. It also, theoretically, puts melee smite attacks back on the table.
Technically the Lawgiver gun can be used as a melee weapon. Or if a criminal without Dredd's DNA actually fires the gun, BOOM!
solid point
Love this build. Brilliant as always. 2 things,
1, do you like that Baldur's Gate 3 lets all the smite *spells* be used on ranged, even if normal smite is only on melee?
2, a fun thought experiment build would be "the best support character" where you dont take any offensive spells (maybe besides cantrips) and you bolster your team as much as possible, with only 1 concentration option at a time. Maybe bard? Maybe transmuter or abjurer? Maybe cleric? Just a thought after all the Vengeance of this build, a more "pacifist" nature might be interesting.
Weirdly enough your unarmed strikes are blocked from smiting RAW. Think onednd (new 5e playtest) did consider allowed ranged smites but walked them back hence why it's way more common in BG3 especially.
Hexblade is a good class for ranged smites although im not sure if they can use guns as their pact weapons.
Great video, by the way, I’m sure someone has mentioned this already, but branding smite also works with ranged weapon attacks.
Can’t wait to see what you make next
Got a couple special ones before we hit the spooky season builds
Brah!!! I was thinking of making a character based on this badass. Thank you for posting this video. Really helps with the direction I should go.
Great build as always. Funny thing is I was thinking of how to how to build The Law himself about a month ago and this is (nearly) exactly what I came up with lol
Nice build man
I hop to see you make jack of blades from fable one day
Been watching you for a while and damn, the voice-edition combo here is insanely satisfying to watch, even if i don't get to use these builds like, ever lol
Very nice build.
Skull knight when?
Simon/Richter from Castlevania next pls
Great build! I understand that the idea is that you want to make a viable Ranged Paladin, which I think you did the best that could've been done with that thing, but really, most of the nicpicks could be taken care of by just going 20 levels Warlock (maybe 2Lvls Fighter)
Who says that you can't be a Lawful Warlock dedicated to the Spirit of the Law? (Of Spirits of Order in DnD). That allows you to have a neat Ranged Weapon if you choose Hexblade, where you can even Smite if you want.
Your Patron fills you with the tools to bring Law everywhere.
The Chad DnD Builds > The Virgin Tulok the Lib-barian
I literally laughed out oud reading that, and I'm very flattered
@dndbuilds I don't mean that as a joke. It's the truth. I used to like his stuff until he went full mask off insanity and shilling it in his vids.
Your videos are absolutely refreshing cause they give me ideas to use for my dnd campaign as great research material since I'm using gacha games like Fate and Nikke to translate them over to 5e.
Speaking of which, I would love to see what you would do with a character from a gacha game translated over to 5e as well.
If I had a player commit to a Paliden DREDD I’d house rule smite would work with their chosen ranged weapon. But ONLY their particular chosen weapon, not all ranged weapons they picked up.
Actually, the feat Magic Initiate Warlock gives you Eldritch Blast. Unlimited ammo.
Can you do like a Grappler Charecter, Just like a Wrestler (Zangief) or Sumo (E.Honda).
I've actually been thinking about doing one for a while now, and I was planning to do it around Zangief actually lol
There's one I've been interested in seeing for awhile and that's Garret from the Thief series. You got the classic trilogy and the new reboot they tried some years ago in the early days of the PS4. He only kills as an absolute last resort and prefers to use a bludgeon called the "Blackjack" and a bow as his main weapons with him using a few types of trick arrows, in the original trilogy he HAS used a sword though. If I was building him I'd do a mix of both the classic trilogy and the reboot since it's hinted in the reboot that you are the reincarnation or descendant of the original Garret who is considered the legendary "Sneak Thief". The original series has been around for a long time and even though the reboot flopped with fans I'd still like to see a build one day from someone who really knows how to build a character in DnD. He's pretty weak in open combat as he just focuses on stealing stuff without a trace and using his tools to pull off heist.
Could you do a video for Asura from the game Asura’s wrath?
Great video as always
Alvin York aka Sergeant York or Adrian Carton de Wiart as a dnd build would be interesting to see what you would come up with🤔
Judge death would be a great oathbreaker.
Sweet
Yeah you guys go ahead with your ranger, I'll be over here in Pathfinder 1e playing a lawful inquisitor of the godclaw.
Any chance you could do Karna oder Gilgamesh maybe?
Would love to see you build Sonic the Hedgehog. More specifically Fleetway Super Sonic
Where can I look up the futuristic weapons and their rules?
I think it's the DMG. I transported my players into the future last year and , yeah, they love the ray guns.
Can you do Soldier Boy from The Boys?
Pls do a Robocop build
Attempt number 7 for a Zato 1 Build
Sweet🎉🎉
Glad you're excited
Would’ve thought you’d multi class into Fighter to get Battle Master Maneuvers to simulate the Lawgivers various shot options. Also get Action Surge and potentially more Extra Attacks if you left Paladin earlier (after level 4)
How to build the character of the Vermintide game in D&D
Make the crow please
Can you make Kite from HunterxHunter with his ability crazy slots?
Do you think you can do gojo Satoru?
I though Dredd would have been a Ranger (Humanoids as preferred enemy, Hunter as subclass, and all the spells as all the gizmos and special ammunition)
Hellboy, or Erza Scarlet from Fairy Tale.
0:38 Where the hell was that written?
I used to call jufge dredd captain falcon.
Turns out he's more like judge raven. Because when you gey caught by him... you'll commit crime; never more.
Day two of asking for genos from opm
A character from MASH.
Day 6 of asking for Tsunade from Naruto.
Day 6 of asking for Nami from One Piece
Great video, by the way, I’m sure someone has mentioned this already, but branding smite also works with ranged weapon attacks.
