  • Video 2A/B/C explores the “Big Three”, the three most important specs to consider when selecting a cam grind. This is the most tech heavy of the videos, and if you only watch one of the videos, this should be the one.

    Thank you sir.
    It is very informative.
    I have a few questions, as my engine is a one cylinder engine with 98,4mm stroke
    And 130,2 mm bore
    At a compression ratio of 7,3:1
    I want to convert the OHV 2 valve to a OHV 4 valve and the cam duration is pretty much the only thing that I'm unaware of to use. The old one isn't available and I wanted to ask, what would be the standard for such ratio and what would be the best idea for it, as the engine is a kickstarted monster which I want to give the fitting designs.
    A midrange probably?

    I have a 03 ultra with a A S&S 106 stroker in her, heads r done 55mil throttle body nitrous, chain drive n airshifter. It didnt start out this way but she ended up like this lol. I have a 585 cans in her, I ride her on the st but I also like to hotrod it, is there a better performance cam to run or is this the limit for it other then a bigger motor? Next motor will b a 143 dragon. I'm a old bike drag racer that's not ready to pac it in totally yet.😎

      You could go bigger Cam, but you'll lose streetability (more power up top, less on the bottom).

    Do you have any applications for the HD XR1200?

    I have a Milwaukee 8 107ci engine and I am looking for a new cam. But confused with the 465 or 475 cams?

    • @SSCycleInc
      @SSCycleInc  5 років тому +1

      The S&S 465 cam is designed to produce torque lower in the RPM range than the 475. A loaded bagger pulling out onto the highway would want more torque (and therefore would perform best with a 465 cam), where a lighter Softail would likely be happiest with a 475 that produces its power higher in the RPM range.

      I have a RKS and don’t really go touring its mainly solo riding but 30% pillion. I am looking at eventually doing a 124ci conversion so is there a cam that would be better that will ease the upgrade later?

      @@thebeardedyorkshireman8368 Either would work well. 124 works best with a 550 cam. www.sscycle.com/feature/performance-kits/power-package/124-power-package-m8

    Hate to say it but H&D could learn a lot from S&S

      The problem with the motor company is accountants. They’re trying to produce bikes that fit as many people and purposes while minimizing the cost of production. So I/we understand why harley does what it does. Even though it’s mostly crap from the show room. As i like to say, a $40k bike that started as a frame and swing arm and then got whatever suspension, drive train, fuel management ect that suits your style, purpose and budget is worth far more than a $30k bike that you bought off the show room floor in the OEM production design.
