- Hi everyone! I'm back with another episode of Cruising with Mr Carrington! I thought I'd start this year by booking the cheapest cruise available from the UK, that being on board the MSC Euribia from Southampton, England to Hamburg in Germany on a 2 night cruise! Snowy Hamburg. Brrr! Your cruise looked amazing and what a super price. Your upgrade was to a lovely cabin. The ship was very smart, and the food looked yummy. What a good idea to have a short cruise for all us non-cruisers to see if we would like it.

I am going on my first cruise on 19/01/24, flying to Sydney, staying for 5 nights then cruising up to the Great Barrier Reef and then back to Sydney. Stopping off in Singapore for a few days on the way back. So excited 🇦🇺 🇸🇬
If I lived down South this is something I’d definitely like to do. Being up north I think I’d go for a longer cruise to make the journey down to the port worthwhile. The cabin looks very well thought out.

What an enjoyable vlog. I am going on a 9 night cruise this summer on Royal Caribbean with stops in Bermuda, St.Maarten, Puerto Rico and Haiti leaving from New Jersey in the US.
Absolute bargain cruise - never thought they would be so cheap - looked fantastic too 👍👍
Amazing value! Looks really great. About 8 years ago I went on a cruise on QE for 23 nights to the Caribbean 6 islands, The Azores and Madeira. It was an inside cabin but we literally only slept in there. It was fantastic and only cost £1200! I loved every minute.

We did that one and it's truly beautiful. As we sailed through the fjords we actually went through low lying clouds like cotton wool. Just be prepared for lots and lots of fine misty rain. Next to no shops open on a Sunday. Eat on the ship because food and drink is insanely expensive. A slice of pizza and small soda was 35 euros in a basic cafe! Also have plenty of camera space because every view gets better than the next. You will love it.

Wow! What a great way to travel! Looking forward to seeing more cruises this year. The food, indoor pool, and entertainment made the trip quite luxurious. Great job!
I just came back from a 5-night cruise with MSC Fantasia to Italy, Spain and France for €55 per night for a solo traveller (mandatory tipping included). I booked the cheapest inside cabin and was even upgraded to a balcony cabin due to low capacity in winter. The weather was also lovely in Barcelona, Marseille and Cinque Terre, with clear sunny sky despite being the "colder" days of the week (12°C instead of the typical 18°C). For this price, the experience was simply unbeatable. In Italy alone, a 4-course dinner with a starter, meat/fish 1st dish, pasta 2nd dish and a dessert probably already costs over €30!

@@MrCarrington the trick with MSC is to book from their USA website (and pay in USD), or other US search engines/travel sites. It seems they are trying to expand their USA market, hence prices/deals are sometimes better

Thank for that Mr C, very interesting stuff. I know Southampton quite well as my son lives near the Marina, so recognised the docks etc. Thats a pretty good fairly inexpensive couple of days away. Looks like a lovely ship too with plenty to see and do aboard. We have been on one cruise before but, all very different but we decided not for us as a main holiday, a coouple nights though might be okay! Thanks again, have a good week x

You inspired us to do a cruise via TUI for our 24 anniversary of our wedding. We did a week, watched Elvis film and a show with songs from Queen. It was all inclusive, but included flights from Exeter to Corfu, where it went all over the place, Slovenia, Split, Croatia, Zada, to name a few. 3k. Went May 2024.
You got the best room in the ship Mr C you could sit an watch that sea all day Beautiful an so much to do Thanks for sharing love it ❤

One of my daughters worked on the Bilboa for three years , took me on a cruise, it was Awesome! She loved working on that ship but, they layer all the staff off to then employ all Spanish staff. There is a film that her crew filmed of them all, put to music, of “The Love Boat”She was do young back then and full of get up and go! 😀👍👍👍💗💗

I’m in the USA & I’m going on my first cruise for 3 days with my 2 best friends in March. It is A MSC cruise from Cape Canaveral Florida to Bahamas . This video is very helpful
Looks very nice. I think the chances of us ordinary peeps getting an upgrade are slim, and I definitely wouldn’t fancy an interior cabin. Glad they looked after you well and you had a good time.

Even in the original inside cabin and costs for travel back to the UK, thats pretty good for a solo two night cruise.
9 years ago I did a trans Atlantic stopping in the Azores Antigua st martin Dominiqua st kits and Barbados it was 16 nights last minute booking David Essex was one of the show and all that cos 650.00.
It was amazing.
I have one hard pillow and two soft one, all feather. Easy to put into the washing machine then into the dryer. 👍👍👍👍

Love cruising so so much, another great video thank you. I’ve sailed 7 different lines now, happy cruising in 2024 they are all so different. We have a short sail with MSC and looking forward to sailing in Queen Anne this year.

Loved this vlog Iwan. Having found your Utopia Of The Sea post on Instagram, I’ve since subscribed to your channel on here! Will definitely check out your other cruises you’ve done too! I done my first cruise this year on the sister ship MSC Virtuosa. The inside is very similar to MSC Euribia. I absolutely loved it. Will definitely be cruising again!

Thanks for sharing your mini cruise with us. Such a fair price. I've been on a cruise before, and the tips about what colours and clothes to pack is spot on. Tip for you: if you have a hairdryer you can get rid of creases by dampening the fabric (shirt) along the crease with the tips of your fingers, so it's not too damp, then blow dry with a hairdryer.

I love cruising and have been on many, mostly Carnival My last cruise was to Portland, Maine (US) and Canada maritime You are right that it is a great value for the money! Your ship was beautiful. Have never been on MSC. After watching your video, I might have to book a short cruise this year. I'm in Tampa, FL and many ships leave from here so super convenient!

Mr Carrington could you hear the noise from the engines from your room ? This looks like a great starter if your new to cruising and you just need to try it to see if you like it like me .

We are looking at doing mini cruises in between our main cruise holidays as I do suffer with shiperation anxiety 😂 and this type of cruise would be perfect. Couldn't believe the price 😮.
The one thing we never travel without is crease release by Lenor, which we decant into a smaller 100ml spray bottle and is ideal for travel. It would have sorted out your shirt no bother 😉✌️
We were on that ship for Xmas cruise from Southampton, loved it, it was beautifully decoratedll at Xmas.

Seeing this video, is giving me the the courage to make a small cruise by myself, specially with those prices, although I don't think I'll find anything that cheap. Also, as I'm a teacher, I can't have holidays out of the scheduled ones, unless I demand some personal days, which means, doubling the expenses. Wasn't there a library on this cruise? I remember the one on your last cruise, it was amazing.

By the way, who looks after the kittens? Do you have a cat sitter or friends to have a look at them? You could make a video, on that. Do you have cameras to take a look at what they are up to. I have one and switch it on with my phone and have a peep at what they are doing. I can even talk to them, but they get upset because they can't find me, so I don't talk to them anymore.
