Hi everyone, hope you enjoy the vlog! Here’s a breakdown of costs for anyone asking: The cruise was £442.50 per person based on 2 sharing a balcony cabin. I didn’t opt for the drinks package, you can take a bottle of alcohol on board with you and the bars are reasonably priced in my opinion to pay as you go. I booked it through SeaScanner and used a discount code they had at the time. Train to Southampton from London was £23 return, you can get advance singles from £6. Coach + Keukenhof ticket 36 euro + approx 20 euro Uber each way to the coach departure point from the cruise terminal. You can also book this as an excursion with P&O. Evening canal boat tour 19 Euro. Hope that helps! 😀

What a wonderful trip - the flowers in the Keukenhof gardens are stunning - and I loved the diving ducks! Such beautiful floral displays, and I remember that the perfume in the glasshouses was just amazing. It was good to have time in Amsterdam as well, and the mini cruise made it extra special. Thank you for taking us along to enjoy it all.
Wow that was lovely, and the bluebells were gorgeous, I have some that come up every year in my front garden, the tulips and floweres were stunning, I bet that was a lovely relaxing time, thanks for sharing.

Yes! I have been to Amsterdam several times. On one of my visits I stayed in a lovely little hotel to attend a week-long Floristy Course in Aalsmeer at the ‘Boerma Institute’. We visited the Flower Market whilst in session trading. Great fun and great memories!🙋♀️🇺🇸🥰‼️
I went to Amsterdam one Christmas and got to do a lovely riverboat cruise whilst watching a spectacular watercolour light show. Visited Ann Frank's house on Christmas eve and on Christmas day went to the Van Gogh museum. Wouldn't mind going back but in the summertime so it's warmer.

We were on Ventura for 35 days earlier this year to USA & Caribean. New Orleans was fabulous. Have also been to Amsterdam and visited Anne Frank's House which was amazing and did a canal trip as well, but it wS not tulip season which must be amazing. Great blog and quick turnaround time, well done.

We took the evening canal cruise too and went to the Van Gogh Museum next day. Had a really fab time! Tulip Gardens next time maybe....⛴️🌷💐

Mr C, thanks for your Ventura report. I’ll sail on her in Sep to Amsterdam so it must be the same itinerary as yours. I cruised on Fred Olsen’s Borealis when you were on Ventura to Rotterdam and Amsterdam. I missed Keukenhof this year because I toured to a clog workshop. I went to this tulip park last year on Saga’s old river ship. Maybe I’ll revisit the park next year on TUI’s river cruise I’ve booked. As for the evening canal cruise in Amsterdam, it wasn’t dark yet for us to appreciate the lights on the canal side. But we saw the Amsterdam sunset instead. I’ve booked an evening walking tour in town from Ventura. June of London
Thank ypu for taking us to Keukenhoff, we were there last year beginning of April. We did an excursion from Rotterdam. We were on P&O Iona, which is my favourite ship. Not been on Ventura yet.
What a lovely short cruise, being a lot older than you I have on so many cruises on all different ships several have been with P&O it’s such a great way to see places have excellent food and so much to do on board. Room is good, i would bring my own wine to put in the fridge in my room, also box of chocolates, i dont drink loads so i dont really need drinks package. I'd really quite like to go to the Shetland Isles with you from the comfort of my sofa.. it might be a bit chilly but the scenery should be amazing :)
Hi Mr Carrington. I'd love to see you on a cruise. Ventura looks pretty good. You can ask the steward to change the beds to a queen. I looked the towel animals and the cake was brilliant. You can't have a drinks package on cruises less than 5 days. I like the short cruises, Amsterdam looks lovely in the sunshine. It rained constantly when I was there. The prices for the cruise are pretty good.

Hello Mr Carrington i have cruised. on Ventura several times maiden season in 2008 we fly over from Sydney lovely ship a bit dated now she was state of the art then.
Enjoy watching the cruise with you, im on a cruise next year for two weeks around the Med, having recently lost my husband who was also my best friend my family are taking on the cruise have a great time, love to kitties xx

If you have time to spend in Southampton, please take a look at the Tudor House Museum and the SeaCity Museum. there is also an art gallery at the civic center with an Anthony Gormley statue - for those who don't know he is famous for the Angel of the North statue.
My favourite flowers are Tulips and i havent seen one in a long time as i live in Australia. A fabulous four day trip and you looked very smart in your suit and tie.

That all looked really lovely! a nice cheeky break away. Not been to Amsterdam ourselves, and only ever been on one cruise for our 25th WA on the med. We didn't get on well with the cruise company (I won't name them) and we were cruisng for 13 days, which was a bit long really for us. I seriously didn't like being at sea in the dark at night, I felt the darkness smothered me! However I do fancy a river cruise at some point, where you can get off and explore cities and towns onced they have docked. Have you ever thought or a river cruise? This was a really interesting Vlog and I think a 4 day break I could cope with and P&O seem nice and easy going. Only ever heard good things about P&O. Thanks for taking us along with you x

If you get a chace to go on a Cunard cruise, go it is in a class of its own! Love the Netherlands and Amsterdam, have been a few times but never to Keukenhof so it was lovely to see. Great vlog!

My parents go on the ventura a couple of times a year so it was nice to see inside as I've never been, they usually go round the med. Great video and a happy birthday Mr C🎉
The cruise looked lovely, Never been to Amsterdam yet but also on my to do list, Love all the decorations in the cabin and great fun facts about the bicycles .. the cruise around the Fjords in NZ is definitely worth a trip leaving from Sydney... now there is one for the future vlog 🙂
I get very seasick so will fly instead. I love Amsterdam and went there a very long time ago. We stayed for a week and did one day in the city, then next day explored outside of city. Loved Keukenhof and Vollandam where you see the cheese market. Great video as usual. X

Yes I have been on Ventura. Like you say a bit old school but I found that quite comforting. I've been on about 5 cruises and generally go with P and O.
Apparently people take loads of plastic (or other materials) ducks and hide them around the ship for others to find, I believe quite the collectors items for some.

I went on the Ventura around Spain and Portugal in August last year and it was lovely. The places were amazing (especially Portugal) and the ship felt like the perfect size (not too big like Iona felt). I've always wanted to try the Amsterdam cruise as it is shorter and now that I'm familiar with Ventura. Well done for finding Metropolis!!😅Literally no one knows about it and you can only access it from the very far back set of lifts, it always has a lovely night view and the staff are so friendly. I hope you managed to see some shows at the theatre? Did you find where they distill their gin? Also, I should say your suit and shoes look really nice!! I think I might start thrifting more 😊
We went to Amsterdam in March. (8 hr layover to Spain fr Canada) did the canal cruise & definitely will be coming back some day. I love this video, I think it's a great relaxing way to vacay and I'll be suggesting it to my spouse - perhaps we can even have his Mum and sis join us on the cruise! 🤞 Looks like you enjoyed, thank you for sharing! My parents go on the ventura a couple of times a year so it was nice to see inside as I've never been, they usually go round the med. Great video and a happy birthday Mr C🎉
The cruise looked lovely, Never been to Amsterdam yet but also on my to do list, Love all the decorations in the cabin and great fun facts about the bicycles .. the cruise around the Fjords in NZ is definitely worth a trip leaving from Sydney... now there is one for the future vlog 🙂
I get very seasick so will fly instead. I love Amsterdam and went there a very long time ago. We stayed for a week and did one day in the city, then next day explored outside of city. Loved Keukenhof and Vollandam where you see the cheese market. Great video as usual. X

Yes I have been on Ventura. Like you say a bit old school but I found that quite comforting. I've been on about 5 cruises and generally go with P and O.

Apparently people take loads of plastic (or other materials) ducks and hide them around the ship for others to find, I believe quite the collectors items for some.

I went on the Ventura around Spain and Portugal in August last year and it was lovely. The places were amazing (especially Portugal) and the ship felt like the perfect size (not too big like Iona felt). I've always wanted to try the Amsterdam cruise as it is shorter and now that I'm familiar with Ventura. Well done for finding Metropolis!!😅Literally no one knows about it and you can only access it from the very far back set of lifts, it always has a lovely night view and the staff are so friendly. I hope you managed to see some shows at the theatre? Did you find where they distill their gin? Also, I should say your suit and shoes look really nice!! I think I might start thrifting more 😊
We went to Amsterdam in March. (8 hr layover to Spain fr Canada) did the canal cruise & definitely will be coming back some day. I love this video, I think it's a great relaxing way to vacay and I'll be suggesting it to my spouse - perhaps we can even have his Mum and sis join us on the cruise! 🤞 Looks like you enjoyed, thank you for sharing!
