Cowan and Minten both gonna be studs can’t wait till they’re fully in the Nhl.
It has been kind of amazing that even though Scooby (Dubas) basically left the cupboard bare on draft picks and good players in the minors, the development staff have proven to do wonders. Examples include Woll, Knies, Holmberg, McMann and now Cowan and Minton. It is too bad the farm system is not exactly packed with other guys with great potential…something that perhaps may get rectified with moving Marner (a big if) and Nick Robertson. Treliving has the unenviable task to rebuild the junior teams while also trying to be in win now mode with the big club. Btw, it should not be lost on anyone that Scooby has already done so much damage in Pittsburgh - that Erik Karlsson trade at the start of Scooby’s tenure was just a boat anchor for the team. I’m so glad he was moved along from Toronto. Maybe there is a possible trade to send Marner to Pittsburgh for Crosby and some other talent? Seems unlikely but gee, wouldn’t that be interesting.
Going to take about 3 years for them to be ready ( or not).

@@poboymusic1958 Nice of you to skirt over the fact that under Dubas the Leafs made the playoffs every year. And sometimes with genuinely good teams, that on paper should've progressed a lot further but f' ed up against Colombus and especially Montreal, that wasnt on Dubas that was on the players. You're also skirting over the fact that he drafted a legit forward in Amirov who sadly passed away, again not Dubas his fault. He didnt leave the cupboards bare at all, its kinda amazing that a team that has been competing for the past 7' ish years has prospects at all, plus some of these prospects are projected to be legit NHLers. You also forget about Hildeby and Akhtyamov, we have goalies in the system for a change that could actually be future starters. Not saying he didnt make bad trades, the Marchand trade i'll never understand and i'm still angry about the Foligno trade. But in general Dubas drafted well and he made sure there were always prospects in the system, you haters are so tiring. It's like you all forgot what the dark days were like...
I like Cowans brand of humor, and the empathy he showed even if it was tongue in cheek is a good sign of a good dude.
As someone who watched Cowan all year long in London, this kid is going to be a stud for the Leafs in the years ahead. Trust me folks, he's the real deal.

Loving Easton Cowan's attitude. I think he's wise enough to realize that he's playing the long game and knows he probably has 1 more year of Junior but he's looking to see what he can do to stay.
Minten is so well spoken. its easy to see why he was captain on Kamloops

More like a man, he's a powerhouse! Lead the Knights in points per game, got the OHL MVP award by a huge margin, got the OHL Playoff MVP award, led the Memorial Cup tournament in Scoring, led the CHL in scoring in the Playoffs, had a 34 game point streak, 42 games with the Playoffs (Which he only went 1 game of 18 in the playoffs without recording a point btw) and is just a great player. The only problems he has is that he's too pass-first and he looses the puck sometimes with unsuccessful dekes, but he's getting a ton better
Quick to fire the answers back after their follow ups, he carries himself really well and isn't just talking like a robot.

I m hoping cowen takes Bert’s spot. This kid is very positive and he is confident. This guy is going to be a playoff guy. Reminds me of Gilmore type of mindset.
We were Knies-Minten-Cowan away from going to the big dance this year.
Would be nice to see the young guns make the jump to the NHL sooner rather than later. And get rid of Marner already before his lack of grit rubs off on the prospects.

Not sure about Minten, but with Cowan it's either the NHL or OHL. Personally, I'd rather see both play another year in Jr. I'd like to see more muscle on these guys before they are playing semi-washed 34 year olds looking to stay in the league by choke slamming a kid.
Minten will be playing for Cincinnati before he gets to the Marlies. Cowan will play in the OHL one more year, then the Marlies.

Every second to let the recovery happen. Hit the circuit weights. You don't have time for 2-3 hours in the weight room. So, circuit weights, where the whole team is in the gym as a buddy system, pair up and do minute on minute off while your partner goes at it. Cables, pull-ups, dips, bench press, lateral raises, lat pull down, rowing, leg press, leg kickout, hamstring curls, all machines that can help you when your tired not hurt yourselves by have the machine keep proper technique. Free weights once, twice a week. You need to prepare to be prepared for the unexpected. Working at seeing the rink and visualizing plays. Let's Go Maple Leafs, Let's Go!!!
