- Historic TV news footage featuring Robert F. Kennedy' victory speech at the Ambassador Hotel in Los Angeles where on June 5, 1968 just after midnight he was shot three times by assassin Sirhan Sirhan just moments after leaving the podium. Shown also is the backstage area where Kennedy was shot and then taken to Good Samaritan Hospital where we would pass away 26 hours later.

Haunting video and very sad.
I was working on my college term paper a few streets from the Ambassador Hotel when my friend who was watching the TV coverage of RFK's victory speech suddenly shouted out to me that something had happened.
Wow...I wonder what he stopped his speech to stare at from 1:14 To 1:20 .
It seemed like NO ONE else looked at what he was looking at

Why?
Observation: very disorganized, to have the mountain of people around him is ridiculous. Also, the schmucks at the microphone (smashed against his mouth announcing for Doctor is extremely silly). This could have been avoided if proper precautions were made and crowd control.
Sirhan Sirhan later stated he did the shooting because of RFK's support of Israel.
I'm not a judgemental person but Ethel Kennedy looked old in 1968. I think people just looked older in general back in 1968.
Take a look at any high school yearbook from 1959. They all look like they are in their forties!
I was only 7 at the time. I'm a staunch Republican today, but I still regret this happening. He might have been an effective administrator, and I sense that he was a most decent man.

All the footage where you could hear the gun shots have been edited out. Gee I wonder why.
I did that so that conspiracy nutcases could continue to run wild with their idiotic theories about what REALLY happened.
