I love that you are reviewing in with the thoroughness and quality of the video. To accelerate the paint fading you might want to try spraying them with salt water regularly to increase the wear factors.
I just painted a rental unit basement with some Behr paint that was sitting since 2008 - it was phenomenal. Definitely some kind of old formulation compared to the newer stuff...
You'll save money if you opt for premium plus vs e600... You'll need to buy 2x the paint volume/labor to get similar coverage/look. I started my house with e600, hated it and switched to pro plus and the difference was huge.
I would like to see an update video. I'm about to paint a house exterior and would love to see the results. Any thoughts on what has held up the best so far?
After 1 year the paints looks pretty similar, the only one that change noticeable was resilience from SW... I am hoping next April will have some noticeable results...
Okay we are just passed April 1 Year later. How's it looking? I'm in the process of shopping for exterior paint right now! Your answer could be incredibly helpful in my quest! @@prosperitypaintingconsulta5362
Used behr e600 for my house, it was not good coverage and needed a lot of paint. Finished/redid job with Behr premium plus, night and day difference in quality and coverage.
Id really like to know which has the best adhesion now that it's a year or so old. I think that will say a lot about how long of a life they will really have. My house has a huge amount of painted cedar siding (previous owner painted it). After 7 years it's failing where it's starting to peel. It's going to be a HUGE job to deal with this. I don't think I can go back to stain so I need a primer and paint that will stay strong for many years.
Does anyone have experience with PPG permanizer as far as longevity goes? I’d like to know how it compares to sw duration, superpaint, etc. The paint company I worked for over 10 years ago used alot of Behr premium plus and Behr ultra, and it seems to hold up pretty well after in 10+ years
I will have a video showing the test results of these paints left out in a field for 3 years in the next couple months. I did dest PPG Permanizer & SW Duration.
Awesome! I’m thinking of using permanizer as a go to exterior paint this summer. I’ve used duration once and really liked it, but a bit more expensive than permanizer
I always had the best coverage for red paints with California Paints. Aura was second best. I haven't used PIttsburgh paints since the 1980's. I have nothing against their products but there are no dealers near me. I never use mid grade or contractor paints. The price for premium paints is worth the labor savings.
They are just now starting to break down, CR does this test and it takes 3 years to get the results... But so far resilience by far has the most color change, they all collect dirt the same, some are starting to peel but think I need to give it more time to be able to consecutively say anything.
No its been 1 year & I just went and looked at it, the only paint that has really had significant color change is Resilience, the rest still look pretty good.
Consumer reports is a joke . All reds fade especially here in New England. If the wood is protected from the sun ☀️ then it will definitely hold out longer. Sherwin Williams was always noted for issues with tint and fading. The gen x colorant from Ben Moore is no better it fades as well.

Thank you for this video, it's the only one on UA-cam of it's kind.
I've been using behr premium paint for years on exterior jobs great paint last along time with proper prep

thanks for sharing, I wonder if/when they changed the formula
Any update? How's the Behr Premium Plus and e600 doing? I'm looking to use one of them on my house.
Here is the test results for fading and peeling: ua-cam.com/video/PMNN_Icv168/v-deo.html

Eventually yes

What are the results after 1 year ?

Where's the durability and scratch test
I would never use Sherwin Williams…. Love PPG, BM, California, and even Behr’s top paints
Do you have the peeling and fade results yet?
No its been 1 year & I just went and looked at it, the only paint that has really had significant color change is Resilience, the rest still look pretty good.
Another year later, how are they holding up?

Permanizer is my go to exterior at 160 a five it's hard to beat.
Where here is $42 a gal
Oil based all the way. Latex doesn't hold up for exterior use. Turns chalky and peels after 5 years. Also full gloss all the way.

keep it at wide angle...= less jitter
Ppg the Permanizer is the best i am panter. Since 1999 for me the permanizer is the best and i use many dif brands emerald is total no good
Benjamin Moore's Regal Select is as good as Emerald and $20 a gallon cheaper.
It's hide, not cover !
Next time add FPE fine paints Europe.
Covers about the same we have done this same test long ago . Interior as well C2 actually covered best in red against FPE. 🤷♂️
2024 sw duracraft, resilience doesn't exist
