Excellent advice on keeping track of marketing tactics and their effectiveness! It’s crucial for improving profit margins in a painting business. After running my business for three years, I've learned quite a bit. Field Rocket has been great for my marketing tasks, and it's free, which is a big plus.

Behr technically covers the best because the CPVC ratio (critical pigment volume concentration) is higher. More pigment = better coverage but also equals less binders,hardeners/fillers.

Used behr e600 for my house, it was not good coverage and needed a lot of paint. Finished/redid job with Behr premium plus, night and day difference in quality and coverage.

Does anyone have experience with PPG permanizer as far as longevity goes? I’d like to know how it compares to sw duration, superpaint, etc. The paint company I worked for over 10 years ago used alot of Behr premium plus and Behr ultra, and it seems to hold up pretty well after in 10+ years

Honestly these videos are horrible.. For one thing, it's always better to run two coats of any paint. 2. It's not about just coverage, Yes, I prefer thin paint then thck paint.. if thin, paint can cover more than a thick one... im all ins.. as long as it's not runny.

The only Google ads that work are Local Services Ads. I wasted thousands with AdWords for useless traffic. You’re looking to get leads not website traffic. Just sharing my experience.

How is it going. I booked an office space gig with one company last year and they pay a flat rate for standard size/office studio .they provide paint. flow of work is not as consistent but great for me to get my feet wet. I tried to ramp up my work and called other commercial office space company. I introduced my services as a painter and she said they need painters and were interested. She asked me what my numbers were and I wasn't sure what to tell her ,for not want to price myself out of work. So I asked her what her budget was and what they were paying out. She said her average rooms are 9x9s. And they are paying $90 just for paint (no prep work/nail pops/drywall repair). I tried to work out the math and it seems that a 9x9 is 81sq ft. And they are paying 1.11 per sq footage of room (not walls)- another question in itself - Should I charge on wall square footage or room square footage. Then she proceeded to ask me my numbers for prep work such as nails pops for drywall repair. and said she would follow up to ask me my numbers. Seeing as how they already seem to be on tight budget as they are a small company.I have no estimating system for prep work or just random regular nail holes that are scattered and can't find how to price that for her when she follows up. What do you suggest, I would greatly appreciate the help.

Found the video extremely helpful. I started my painting business in October of 2023 and have had most my success off of door hangers, but now it’s starting to get stagnant and I don’t like putting out hundreds of these for no call backs. Would you suggest I start door to door? I live in Oklahoma so most houses have a no soliciting sign. What should I do about that?

Thanks for doing this! It’s definitely very helpful. I’m just starting my huge, overwhelming kitchen refinishing project and looking for the right primer. I’m going with Behr, plus a stain blocker for tannins. I just watched a recent video on the SW extreme bonding primer where it failed. The painter talked to the reps, who said there have been some problems with it in the last year. Watching this painter having to redo the whole job was enough to scare me off, even though I already started with it.
