    Hi there, thanks for sharing this, we did actually a few tests on the bench at EMS Motorsport in Paris. The reality of the power gain with only a bigger air intake and larger exhaust pipe, fitting a competition filter or not is minimal, as is the gain from a greater gas outlet = 5hp in most cases (for gaz outlet it doesn't even change anything). Therefore there's no real interest if we compare the net power gain (especially with a turbo) on certain vehicles by simply reprogramming the stoichiometric engine management (10 to 20% ). The power/price gain ratio on engine parts only justifie when there's a need to increase more than 50% from its original power, or more... Also the 4 cylinder 20V 1,8lt has limited connecting rods and will brake if you go over 420Nm this might be a limit on the choice of the kind of stage you swap the car without having to change the original rods and much more. A bad example not to follow is that of Humblemecanics where even with a big turbo it does not exceed 200hp - (I think it was a 180ch TT and guess he didn't reprogrammed it) other wise there are also many other very successful swap on the TT but what we see most often is the replacement of the intercooler which again is absolutely ineffective below 300hp just like replacing the air intake or the exhaust line. All these modifications are only justified from 300hp. Below that, a good reprogramming allows a TT quattro of 225hp to easily pass the 250hp bar as long as you provide it with the quantity of gasoline (i.e. respectively 400cc/min for 225hp or 450cc/min for 250hp) translate in US gallon per hour (38,67lb/h for 225hp). Another good thing to do at first is to install a pedal box and a quick shifter, those give without any other changes allready a total different driving feeling. Cheers from Geneva Switzerland

    I had mine done a couple of years back after fitting a cat back scorpion system & RamAir induction. It was down a bit to start, 194 at the flywheel but it came out at 251 and the driveability was great. Well mannered in traffic and a much nicer shove when on boost. I've just changed all the charge pipework for Forge electric blue ones and the heat shield you recommended arrived from David Clarke too with my ProRam filter. It looks great under the bonnet now. I did the interior clean & seat delete in the summer so winter will be cleaning the underside with braded brake & fuel lines. I'm really down the rabbit hole with this one 😂 😂

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  2 роки тому

      Hahah it’s funny how quick it goes from a few little bits to full restomod 😂. That heat shield is a work of art isn’t it.
      Yeah that’s a nice power gain, certainly will notice that for sure. I wouldn’t be surprised if 25% of all old turbo cars are not down on original power due to issues

    Great vid again Dom 👍 Thought I'd leave a comment to see if anyone has remapped a 3.2 MK1 TT... Obviously being non turbo, you only gain 20-25 bhp/torque so wondering if it's even worth it/you notice the difference 😊

      There was a few 3.2’s at the rolling road day if you have a look on my channel events playlist. It’s a nice little extra push if you know what I mean. It’s the cheapest way of getting a little more power. As after that your into cams and head work which is 🤑🤑🤑. Haha. Thanks for the comment 👌🏻

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  2 роки тому

      Hey Simon, it depends on power. Usually it’s just because your clutch is tired. A new genuine clutch will be fine if stage1/2 usually. You may well need to replace the dual mass at the same time

    Would this be causing the prob as its been mapped with this also egr hasn't got a blanking plate. Also its idling just below 600, could you please give me some light🙏 as I'm been told differently by the mapper.

      It’s hard to judge from the outside but a vacuum leak won’t help, if your egr has been blanked out of map and needs a blanking plate then would need doing

    Hey, i'm currently driving an MK1 180 FWD from 2003, and i found this company, BSR Tuning, that offers a remap with their onwn portable computer PPC3, and just wanted to know if anyone had ever experinced any problems with said company. Thanks!

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  Рік тому +1

      As for that company i can't say i have heard of them, the only thing to consider when using mobile mapping company is they do not dyno your car and this means they won't check your pre and post map fueling & running stats, so you for example could have a boost leak, weak fuel pump etc but they won't see this when mapping your car.
      Just something to think about

    Is there anywhere I can get a diagram on the vacuum hose layout as I have a slight wiggle on my revs when sat at idle. But I don’t know what pipe does what 😂 think it may have a leak. It’s a 180 1.8t tt. Thanks in advance!!!

    • @TheParrottBros
      @TheParrottBros  2 роки тому +2

      Yeah sure man, check this out. It may be wrong depending on engine code but it’s for 180hp
      A smoke test will show any leaks a lot easier that just searching alone. But if you can’t get one then just check physical look.

      You can fit parts that help breathing without the need to map it. The car will see that it has more air coming in and adjust furling to suit.
      Obviously a map will make the most of the filter but isn’t required.
