Here is another how to hang strings lights with another product that I like way better than Cotsco. Has way more features! Check it out after this one!
• Honest Review and "how...
One thing I did before I mounted everything was hang the lights the way I was thinking I wanted to hang them to make sure I didn’t have extra lights or came up short when stringing it along. Once I hung the lights in a way that I knew would be perfect I then decided to mount everything and hang lights.

Wow! This video was EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for! Just bought the same lights from Costco and I have no clue how to install them correctly. God bless you for creating this video - greatly appreciated. 🙏
Thank you for your kind works! Glad it was helpful! Let me know how it goes:)
The Idea of putting the wire rope through to make them more rigid was a good touch. Thanks for the video
No problem 👍
I just bought these same lights thank you very much. As a single mom, I don't have anyone to help me other than my kids. I appreciate you and may YAHUAH continue to Bless you
You are so welcome!
@MiezProduction can you share of list of everything you bought and where?
Great video, nice job. I’m about to light up my back patio and will use the same approach
I hope it turned out great!
Thank you for posting your installation. We got the same lights and you gave me some ideas on how to install them. Like we’ve all heard recently…, “I don’t have a ‘plan’…, but I have a ‘concept’…” 😂
Glad this helped:)
Great Video. This is exactly what I've been looking for!
Glad it was helpful!
Great job and thanks for the tips on how to place them so they are not permanent. As a renter, this is very handy especially if a bad storm is heading in. By the way, I am typing this as Hurricane Hilary is expected to hit California. Sending good vibes your way that you & your family stay safe.
Edited to add that you could always spray paint the clamps to blend in & they won’t be so noticeable.
Thank you for the nice comment😊 we are all good from the storm. Hope you and yours were safe as well. I ended up spray painting those clamps the next day and you can’t even tell.
Back to the Future, “Oh Marty” LMFAO. Great video, appreciate all the tips. Seen this other video where they recommended filling planters with cement and sticking 8ft poles in them, did not work. Thanks again
Great job!
Detailed instructions!!!
good video, great idea with wire tensioners.
Thank you
Nice job my man. My kind of dude shorts and sandals for work😄
It’s the only way 😂
Great job! Cruising around for ideas thanks
Looks cool man, great job. Thank you for sharing
Glad you enjoyed it:)
I just came back from costco and forgot to look at lights. Will have to go back. I am a single mom and will have my son help me. I will be installing these in my gazebo. Great video, thanks..
You got this!
You have to order these.
Loved the video! Super-helpful! Can you say more about how you connected the power? I don’t want it to look weird.
I ran it to an outlet with a timer on it so it comes on at the same time every night
Looks great! I’ve got 3 boxes being delivered today from Costco
Good luck! :)
Great video. Thank you. I hope my attempt goes well. Wish me luck!
Good luck!! You got this!
Thinking of this for backyard pasta or on wood post going to the dock
Thank you for posting this, very helpful. Enjoyed seeing your daughter (?) dancing (maybe making her own video!) at 5:58.
Glad you enjoyed it! Yes that was my daughter :)
Fantastic Job! Thank you!!!
You are welcome :)
Great video. Thank you. Do you think that attachment in the corner of your fascia will hold the weight plus the tension in the wind? I worry that it might rip out with just two 1" wood screws.
Real helpful. Thank you
Very helpful, wish you lived nextdoor to us. We're going with the zip ties
Great video! just what I was looking for. By any chance are those the Simi Hills I see looking toward Whiteface?
Yes they are!
Great job man
Little S hooks! That is how you connect the circle on the string of the lights to the wire. Loved the video.
My parents hung there's by the lights itself from the roof to the gazebo...they fell ....glass everywhere!!
Definitely learned the hardway 😅 Also they do sell kits but you could also look at said kit & buy just what you need. 😉
God bless you for your assist!
Dang... I thought you solved my problem with those fence post extenders! But all of them I'm looking at show they're meant for wooden posts, which is probably why you couldn't find any U-joints that fit. They're just meant for screws.
Nice setup bro
Thank you!
Very cool! Looking forward to this project next weekend. Do you think wire nuts will work as well for clamping the wire?
I placed these beautiful lights on my balcony, but they are too bright, can they be dimmed ? I have the switch but don’t know if they would work. Thank you
I had to buy incandescent Edison bulbs for a film job and they have a Dimmer/timer switch (24. Bucks but worth it…2,4,6 & 8 hours w a key fob). Wish I could’ve bought your Cisco ones “Safer” than glass.
This video is very informative however, That BTTF line got the like 😂
It came so natural 😂
Thank you 😊
Spiders are sick you better watch out 4 the eggs Marty. I'll just be chilling with biff . Nice video BTW I just got chosen to hang sum for the forth and I have no idea what or how I was gonna do it, now I know exactly what I'm gonna need to grab now and hopefully I will be able to put out a some nice content of my own.
Haha you had me laughing at your comment!! Thanks for that:) good luck putting up your lights. Let me know how it goes!
How much sag did you have with these in the middle of your runs?
very informative...thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Where did you order your poles from ??
Noice 💪 Thanks, helpful video. Spiders are the worst.
Im planning to do the same over my pool so it was great to see how you did it. Are you happy with the height of the lights? Mine will probably end up higher up because of my house height
I’m happy with it but it could be higher. Especially when the kids are throwing balls and pool noodles lol
We have a pool but unfortunately we cant install it across because according to the instruction you cannot install across any pool or spa for safety reason...So, we end up going around the pool with a few distance away from the pool... in circle but not across... it works and still bright!
Excellent video! Looks awesome 👌 Cute pooch 🐩, btw❤
Thank you:)
Can you provide link or list to/of all the hardware you used please?
Should be in the description ;)
Good job!
Looks amazing! I have the same Costco lights and wondering-- is the end of the light (the part that connects to another set if you need it longer) waterproof/okay to be left in the rain?
There is a cap that you plug into it which will cover the outlet if you don’t plan on using another strand of lights. I ended up wrapping it with electrical tape to make sure no water gets into it.
So it doesnt look like you did all that with just 2 boxes off lights. How many did it end up being?
Great job.
Thank you! Cheers!
What is that hardware called that you were screwing at 3:35?
The spider comments killed me 😂
You should at least mention using a GFCI receptacle. Line voltage strung over a pool is a recipe for disaster.
Does GFCI solve that totally? Like if one of those falls in the pool and it’s plugged into GFCI will it not kill everyone?
I think it was nice of the guy to do a video. Why should he "at least" do or say anything else? If you have additional comments, feel free to add them yourself
@@kyleucfyes it would it will trip right away
Nope, it won't @@kyleucf
What gauge wire did you use?
Looks good are you worried about the possibility of electric shock to some one in the pool if an accident happens?
I took proper safety measures to make sure nothing like that can happen ;)
@@MiezProductionlooks great. However after having these Costco lights for 3 years, the bulbs frequently burn out and they shatter because they eventually weaken from UV leaving shards on the ground - these will be in your pool. I'm going to do the same project but run solar lights. Safety and reliability concerns are reduced. However, it looks fantastic the way you have set it up.
@@MiezProductionand you're not going to mention what those measures are?
Excellent nice job
Thank you very much!
Thanks, I'm a DIY Queen and didn't know how I could conquer that ugly swag.
The lights look great. Question: the lighting im looking for is what you had @ 6:40 but I noticed as it got darker the lights became brighter @ 7:09. Im not sure if it's your camera angle but if those lights remain the way they are @ 6:40 as it got darker, ill be making my purchase tomorrow. May you please confirm? Thanks
It’s probably just the camera as I filmed it all with my phone and it autocorrects. Another person emailed me that he bought a dimmer to connect to his lights so he can adjust the brightness. So there’s that option if it is indeed to bright for you.
Nice backyard pool area, what time is the party…😅
Now
Thanks for the Informative Video, to ALL the DAss Comments, HE is a GROWN MAN ... We just got SAME set SAME Place, hanging across Patio OVER Hot Tub, Wondering What GAUGE WIRE You used? We are attaching UNDER an Over Hang COVE that is HARD to Drill into, YOUR IDEA Saves Our Ass's, so we only have to Drill on either END ... Thx ... P.S. I was Born in Sun Valley, grew up in the Valley, Porter Ranch, SIMI and Ventura ... While watching, I commented look's like Simi Valley, 5 sec later YOU said SIMI, My Son cracked up ... Had any problems with Weathering on WIRE? Currently in UT, facing SOUTH, Summer Blazing, Winter SNOW ... Maybe look for a TREATED Wire? THANKS!
Sorry a little late on this reply. Im sure your light are already up. How did it come out? That’s way cool you recognized Simi. How is it living up in Utah? Definitely a change from the valley/ Ventura county haha
We have a pool but unfortunately we cant install it across because according to the instruction you cannot install across any pool or spa for safety reason...So, we end up going around the pool with a few distance away from the pool or in circle but not across... it works and still bright!
what song is this, my good man?
I will have to look but I believe I went to the UA-cam audio library and downloaded it for free. One of the royalty free songs.
Wow
How to make it longer?
Those were two strands but you can buy a third to add.
Thought you was gonna run the rails with lights as well
Supposed to be at least 12’ above the pool, just saying. But the good thing about electrical shock is you won’t feel it
Where did you get those 2 fire pits ? Love them
We had them put in with the pool. Think they came from Arizona
GFCI outlet? 😅
Yes plus we rarely swim at night and don’t have them on while swimming. Mostly for ambience while in the back;)
Most codes state NO electrical wiring within 10 feet of swimming pool. Would not swim in this pool.
Good video but PLEASE put on a shirt next time.
Dude Bert has mellowed out. What happened to Da Machine?! Lol
Really?? He’s doing outdoor poolside work. What’s wrong with ya ?
Oh Morty hahah
First thing I noticed was those lights across a pool. That looks very dangerous. Did your home insurance go up after this video? Don’t let your home insurance company find out lol.
Dude, put a shirt on
omg your not kidding!!! china is crap with its hardware.
Hahaha. The smart way? Why not hand everyone a plugged in toaster before they get in that pool. Psh
