Certainly my favourite. He's been making a living playing guitar for over sixty years and in all that time he was never afraid to make changes, both technically and musically, if that was what he felt he needed to do. An exceptional musical knowledge across all genres, never satisfied, and always willing to take risks. That makes for a great musician, not just a great guitar player.
Ritchie is fantastic...He does know what hes doing...Just a great showman all round...Grew up with his tunes...all great...when machine head came out...just brilliant stuff...
Mr. Richard Hugh Blackmore 💜🌈 Thank You For The Music, Performences, Inspiration & Giving So Many Musicians A Chance & To The World. So Great But Yet So Misunderstood. In My Book Always No.1.
Yes by far. Technically brilliant, the guitarists' guitar player who innovated and influenced. Absolutely prolific over seven decades and is still playing and releasing music today. Vastly underrated but still my all time musical hero.
The guy was one of the inventors of pure rock and pushed rock to neoclassical metal territory while being a top-tier blues guitarist. Sure, the trolls are going to say "he's sometimes sloppy live" or "he makes mistakes" - yeah, true, he does sometimes make mistakes. Who doesn't? But does that reduce his standing, considering his accomplishments? Probably not by much, if at all. He's a central figure in rock and metal guitar history.
Good luck on deciding who is the best guitarist ever. I would never say that it was not Ritchie Blackmore, and I love listening to him play more than any other guitarist, and you cannot argue with the fact that he is very wery good. Much gratitude for his music.
Who's the greatest? Thats subjective. Depends on the person. Favorite all time Ritchie Blackmore album is "Stranger in us all" Very dark and fits RB. Blackmore's Night may not be your glass of Johnny Walker Black but amazing guitar work indeed!😊
Nobody couldt be the greatest guitar player of all times. The‘re so many phantastic guy‘s in different genre‘s of music. But I think Mr. Blackmore at it‘s hightime in the Seventies he was one of the Top 5 in the world of Rock guitarrists. He influenced a lot of nowaday‘s players that show him respect!
He founded the neo classical style and eastern scales into Rock Music. Some of his best work is on the album in 1969 simply called Deep Purple before Gillan and Glover ever joined the band. Ritchie uses a wah pedal on this album as well as his other trademarks. Regarding live guitarist, the most intense i ever saw was Frank Marino. Anyone who saw Marino play in the late 70s knows what i'm talking about.
I gave up trying to classify any one “greatest rock guitarist” years ago, but there’s probably 6 or 8 guys that I consider “The Best”, and Ritchie is certainly on that short list.
All the players in the early Ian Gillan periods where I am most familiar were extremists and craft masters and it took the skill of Roger Glover to sew it all together. Ritchie Blackmore and Jon Lord were an impossible and powerful duo on so many tracks amongst themselves. Paice (Ian) was fire in rhythm always and everyone knew it. Ian Gillan was the vocalist that had....to be there with the range and power necessary to still project the live fuse power of this band up front. My personal favorite Blackmore lead came out on a 45RPM single called Kentucky Woman. It contains both neoclassical and Blues runs on fire. A standout piece of guitar work for then or even today
I love Ritchie Blackmore but this video doesn't do him justice at all. Who choose these videoclips? They aren't good examples of his playing. And what is "Brun"???
No doubt ritchie is greatest.nobody get even close...he is gift so much joy to me over decades.gently and wild..and all between that.I hear early 80s first time purple and rainbow,my favorite bands since.most gifted musician in the world.GOD bless ritchie and I hope long and good live to him.
Ein sehr guter Musiker...Deep Purple ist mir bekannt...Ritchie Blackmore etwas weniger aber die Band mochte ich, war gut...Toll das meine Musik-Einseitigkeit wieder etwas aufgefrischt wird...Danke... 🎶🎼🎵🔝👏...
Before the name Ritchie Blackmore is under rated guitarist he never step to the ranking title, in Now the wind is change the peoples wake up they recognised Ritchie Blackmore as a guitar god in also the world number one guitarist of time.
Blackmore is identified after 0,5 seconds. Nobody, nobody plays like Blackmore. Nobody plays like Robben Ford which I am going to see in Concert Aschaffenburg here in Germany next Monday. First saw him 1972 when I was 12 years old and he played here in Germany with Charlie Musslewhite. Maybe I will have the chance to tell him that on Monday. Ritchie will turn 80 next year. Counted together I reckon that Ritchie penned 50 world class riffs. No other guitarist on this Earth can show that. Like Vai said: there is no bad Blackmore riff.
Certainly, top 3 in the world in his day. He Also invented a new style of rock music neoclassical classical. He invented it. Just watch Ritchie at California jam. And also a 🌈 video live in San Antonio. That will prove how good he is live.
well, this video is filled with bad examples. I look for one minute and had turn it off. I persons choosing and editing the video didn't do a good job to say the least. He is very good, has his own style, inspired millions of players and he has continued his musical journey from the 60s up until today. Taste is subjective though. I personally never have understood the supposed greatness of SRV for example. Eventhough I love blues and blues rock, I guess he just doesn't play what I want to hear...
Just watch california jam. And also live in San Antonio. When he was in rainbow , you will be captivated and shown what a great mount rushmore guitar he is.
100x better & more creative than PAIGE? I’ll agree with that statement but PAGE? The founder, visionary, lead guitarist and producer of a little band called Led Zeppelin… even if you believe that he’s more talented and u know that you are going to have a serious debate on that opinion and I will bet that you will have a lot of pushback on that. 100x better than Jimmy? You lost your credibility and your opinion is worthless. If you said, I prefer Richie over Jimmy it’s subjective but you lost me and anyone else who is over 50 and still alive.
In my mind he’s number 1. The ones of his generation that usually get put ahead of him are Page who hasn’t done anything great since 1976. Hendrix who had about 4 great years. Beck who is technically brilliant but nothing memorable, Clapton who was pure blues based and in my opinion boring.
OK here's a list of better players ,Alan Holdsworth , Beck Gary Moore , Steve Morse Jan Akkerman ,Eric Johnson ,Vinnie Moore Greg Howe ,itsnot the 70s anymore
Blackmore is proud of writing "Street of dreams" instead of Smoke on the Water, Highway Star, Black Night or Stargazer that are considered rock anthems. Because deep inside he knows that those are altered songs from Ricky Nelson, Jimi Hendrix, classical musicians etc. Page stole from american blues, Blackmore stole from the classics and rock'n'roll pioneers of the fifties. Blackmore was tedious about studio editing while Page did some remarkable work. On the other hand Blackmore's tone is one of the most defining guitar tones ever
Far more better than hendrix. Hendrix went popular because he started acid rock and those very long rock lines which turns into boring because there's not much to show-repetitive
Yes, the greatest and my favorite
Certainly my favourite. The Greatest guitar player EVER!
Utter rubbish
Mr. Richard Hugh Blackmore 💜🌈 Thank You For The Music, Performences, Inspiration & Giving So Many Musicians A Chance & To The World. So Great But Yet So Misunderstood. In My Book Always No.1.
Лучший гитарист всех времён! Действительно, номер один!!!👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼❤️
Yep. He's incredible.
Ritchie is still my top favourite of all time👍
Blackmore el creador de los mejores riffs y solos de la historia del rock , está en el Olimpo de los mejores!!!!
Ive seen almost all the greats live, including Ritchie four times. Far and away the best guitarist I've ever seen.
Mr. Richard Hugh Blackmore 🎸⚡️🔥
Il coche vraiment toute les cases!!!!!!!!!!!!Il y a Ritchie,,,,,,et les autres!!!!!God bless Ritchie...........
Purple was awsome
Yes by far. Technically brilliant, the guitarists' guitar player who innovated and influenced. Absolutely prolific over seven decades and is still playing and releasing music today. Vastly underrated but still my all time musical hero.
Ritchie is the BEST in the World 🎸✨💖🎸💖✨🎸💖💥
To Me Hendrix Beck Van Hallen, then Ritchie Blackmore
He written so many great songs with Deep Purple and Rainbow and now Blackmore's Night. One of the best and most creative guitar players of all time.
He is not afraid to deviate from the recorded track and improvise live. Which raises him above the rest in my opinion.
Accurate and clean guitar sound. Unreachable.
Good luck on deciding who is the best guitarist ever. I would never say that it was not Ritchie Blackmore, and I love listening to him play more than any other guitarist, and you cannot argue with the fact that he is very wery good. Much gratitude for his music.
Absolutely the best.
An absolute inspiration & all-time favorite guitarist of mine!❤
The greatest
Who's the greatest? Thats subjective. Depends on the person. Favorite all time Ritchie Blackmore album is "Stranger in us all" Very dark and fits RB. Blackmore's Night may not be your glass of Johnny Walker Black but amazing guitar work indeed!😊
Good description of that album. I love it too. Battle Rages On is another.
Untouchable
Nobody couldt be the greatest guitar player of all times.

Best Guitarist EVER 🎩🎸✊🌈
The G.O.A.T. ⚡️
YES!!!

Kentucky Woman solo is one of his best work ever. Clean playing and melodic.
I love Ritchie Blackmore but this video doesn't do him justice at all. Who choose these videoclips? They aren't good examples of his playing. And what is "Brun"???
They probably don't know Bilsen '69 exists...
Дякую. Не знав про сабж, але тепер знатиму.
One of the greatest. That cello "emulation" mainly with Rainbow, was unique.
Il più grande di tutti, the man in black
The best
Ein sehr guter Musiker...Deep Purple ist mir bekannt...Ritchie Blackmore etwas weniger aber die Band mochte ich, war gut...Toll das meine Musik-Einseitigkeit wieder etwas aufgefrischt wird...Danke...
🎶🎼🎵🔝👏...
Ritchie was at his best in the studio where he came up with fantastic riffs and red hot solos
Yes, by a country mile.
Ritchie greatest rock guitarist ever is not a question, it's an evidence....
Before the name Ritchie Blackmore is under rated guitarist he never step to the ranking title, in Now the wind is change the peoples wake up they recognised Ritchie Blackmore as a guitar god in also the world number one guitarist of time.

wy am i drawn to the most hated bad bike death alley crashers
Even one of the founders of heavy metal don't forget that a originator not a imitater.
He definitely should be included with the likes of Hendrix, Clapton, Page, and Gallagher in those who's the greatest discussions.
Certainly, top 3 in the world in his day. He Also invented a new style of rock music neoclassical classical. He invented it. Just watch Ritchie at California jam. And also a 🌈 video live in San Antonio. That will prove how good he is live.
Remove the question mark please...
Big Jim Sullivan in my opinion was the greatest guitarist of all time. His favorite student was Ritchie Blackmore. 💜🌈
Lacks keefs dexterity
From 1969 to 1973, nobody could touch him.
The GGOAT !!!
Can’t see it myself, but each to their own!
well, this video is filled with bad examples. I look for one minute and had turn it off. I persons choosing and editing the video didn't do a good job to say the least.

For sure 100 times better and more creative than Paige.
Also 100 times better than Clapton
Absolutely agree
Falsche Einstellung. Die sind nicht zu vergleichen. Die sind beide sehr gut und kreativ, in ihren sehr unterschiedlichen Kunst.
I’m a huge fan of him for over 50 years now. But the greatest? C’mon, gimme a break!
100x better & more creative than PAIGE? I’ll agree with that statement but PAGE? 💜ritchieblackmore💜🎸🌈🌈it's my opinion, my personal choice ..
Definitely a favorite but GOAT? No I've been to shows where he stood behind his amps pouting. Great player who could be unprofessional at times.
In my mind he’s number 1. The ones of his generation that usually get put ahead of him are Page who hasn’t done anything great since 1976. Hendrix who had about 4 great years. Beck who is technically brilliant but nothing memorable, Clapton who was pure blues based and in my opinion boring.

The word is "stole", not stealed.
@@TheSimba3062 you are right. There are more language errors in other comments here. Best of luck!
hes great below Hendrix of course
He is way ahead of Hendrix in every aspect…
Who? Hendrix? What's that?
Quote John Lord; Hendrix was a big thing for Ritchie.
Nothing to be ashamed for, Blackmore-fans. I love Blackmore too. ❤
Hendrix over rated ! Could not read music! Played wrong notes! Good player but Blackmore was better!😊
Far more better than hendrix. Hendrix went popular because he started acid rock and those very long rock lines which turns into boring because there's not much to show-repetitive
Hendrix was definitely very influential and ground breaking, but he was not the player that Blackmore was.
