You know, after all is said and done, I think Richie might have came out at the top of the Rock guitar world. Defined a sound in the Rock world, a steady career all his life, healthy, has his song rights, he still has the lifestyle (cars, guitars, private jets), and still keeps his anonymity. Hardly a boring moment in his musical career, moving from cutting edge Rock ..all the way to Medieval music. He's continually doing what he loves. And, he's married to Candice! The only 'drug' he needs! Seriously, there are not many that can say they had all that in one lifetime :)

what a legend.....I just love this musical artist for his obvious musical brilliance. Blackmore also exposes the pathetic aspects of guitar heroes and ridiculous egos in the rock and roll industry. His wife Candice is fantastic and just lovely - great musician in her own right. Lots of Deep Purple and Rainbow fans and other individuals in the music industry have been a little bitter and vindictive in their judgement of Blackmore's shift away from his early years. this says more about them than it says about Ritchie. Keep up the great musical journey you are on. loving it

I just can not stand the sound of single coil pickups....I have never played a Telecaster w/Humbuckers and would really like to see how Fender stacks up w/'em.......IMO, GIBSON's are the STANDARD when it comes to guitars. RB copied Hendrix and it is why RB switched...and then, Hendrix switched to GIBSONs towards the end due to too much STATIC in his tone....Hendrix went to a '67 Flying V Standard and a '63 SG CUSTOM, both are TOTAL BAD-A$$ GUITARS ! w/non static tone !

Ritchie's humour is so dark it's awesome. This is what made him come off as an asshole to past band mates and such, but it's also part of his charm. I'm laughing watching him and his daughter interact in this video.
I love the way his fingers move when he plays its a type of structured fluidity that effortlessly blends fire and air into a harmonic convergence of oh what the hell am I talking about lol
I like all of it. When I was a kid these actors came into our school, and played medieval music, and I enjoyed it. Then when I was in my 20s I ended up buying a 62 reissue polar white strat. One day I will buy a banjo or mandolin. I don't know why some people try to pigeonhole others when there are so many great types of music to enjoy, and experiment with.

Very happy that I jumped at the chance to buy one of my heroes signature Fender Stratocaster when I did it's the most beautiful and sexiest thing I've ever seen
I actually strapped on and briefly strummed the Fender Stratocaster that Ritchie played at Edinburgh Odeon 1972. It was all white and for years I had a photo of him playing it all dressed in black that night that I took from front of stage but it didn't survive the years. Me and a mate helped the roadies pack up the gear after the gig and as it was still just proped up against summit I asked if it would be okay to strap it on. I was only 16 and couldnt afford a real Fender Strat myself so you can imagine what a moment that was. My mate took a few photos but without any more flash bulbs they were just a messy blurr and not worth keeping. Anyway I remember he had hit that guitar of the P.A. at the end a few times but it wasnt broken. I bet I was thinking, at that age, damn I cant even afford such a guitar and he,s happy trying to break it. Just trivia but I still remember the concert and the before and after.
I seen Blackie's first guitar during the in rock album ES-335 go for sale Christy's had a lucky guy from Connecticut for 20k. His x in Germany needed money. So low key that a guitarist of his magnitude only pledged to 20K. It boggles the mind.

He's not a genius, he takes what he's heard from other guitar players, musicians and turns it into his riffs. Most riffs are borrowed and recycled to that person's music......A great guitar player OH YES

Ritchie wasn’t happy with the direction Deep Purple were going, and begged them to let him write one album by himself to prove that he has a better idea of where Purple should go than the rest of the band.
